I probably wouldn't have even attempted to grind through the rifts if they didn't put Agent Smith as a reward, but after seeing what I had to do, I said fuck it and gave up. Having to grind my gems to a certain level just so I can get ONE character early isn't worth it
I've figured that we were never going to get him within the first month on day one when I see that not everything was available on launch. My only goal for rifts is the skin variations. What currently bothering me is the character speed and certain annoying characters that wasn't badly effected by it. I was a Reindog player during the open beta but now he's hard to play cause of how slow his projectiles are while characters like Bugs (Fuck Bugs), Stripe and Velma are not too effect by it. They better do something about it for the next season or I'm playing a lot less or quitting all together.
It's objectively better now. There was no advantage state before, people could mash dodge jump all day long. Now you can actually take a stock with fundamentals and tracking their disadvantage options.
if you have a pc btw if you look up how to play old multiversus theres a reddit tutorial, so ur able to compare new and old side by side, and it might just be because ive been playing the new one but the old multiversus just feels so clunky compared to the new one
Short answer to the video title: no it isn't and not even close to being "dead" the phrase "game is dead" "dead game" or "game is dying" gets thrown around way too much in society and 9/10 inaccurate. The game isn't perfect but PFG are communicating and rolling out updates nearly every week. A lot of developers go radio silent and don't keep their community informed.
I agree with you 100% but I don’t feel the frustration of the community. They removed tons of things and made the game way more grindy. I think Warner Bros forced them to put the game out early.

I felt like people are not appreciate multiversus and every one is actually having fun with this game I rather play MULTIVERSUS than any other game except marvel vs capcom im definitely getting the fighting collection that was recently announced but anyways multiversus is definitely the best game we ever play
They don't add content. They should have a League of Legends character release schedule or faster. WB has a plethora of intellectual property. Feels so lazy.

@Lol11467 they remade the rntire game for better netcode (transition from ue4 to ue5) they were also rushed by wb which meant a lot of features were left out. PFG has been communicating and releasing updates frequently introducing nee and returning features. Just give them time

After this game released I realised the reason they stopped updating the beta and went on break was not to fix the game but to change the monetisation. Getting rid of gold and turning the game into almost a gacha game with the short daily log in rewards and all the new currencies. It was a money move to them and not a move for players. Buying toasts now costs gleamium what a joke.

The grind is ass and in the end you get stuff that isn’t cool (Graphic t shirt skins) all because I didn’t drop cash on it Honestly contemplating deleting the game and saving some piece of mind Cosmetics aren’t everything typically but when the games whole reward system is based around giving you cool characters and skins for playing the game having the characters and skins be basic and slow to get or even just you have to spend money to get them it makes the game feel so unrewarding to play

The beta was 100% sold as a 2s-focused game, and ever since PFG shot themselves in the foot by hiring Nakat, not because he's bad at his job but because he and Void were the biggest pillar of the 2s scene, Void has shifted to 1s and so has a lot of other content creators. As a 2s-focused player, every decision I've seen has been to favor 1s; now, that's fine if PFG said, "Hey, the comp scene is mostly 1s now, and we want to cater to them to fuel excitement for the next tournament." But they haven't said a word. The perks that make 2s awesome are mostly gone, removing all counterplay; I am not making an anti-superman build for everyone, so it just Snowball, Last Stand, and Puglisit on 99% of my characters. Also, in the game, 2s is still the recommended mode, but every Nerf removing sauce is done on behalf of 1s players. WW and Morty were not broken in 1s. Joker and Smith were combo machines, but when a teammate can save you, it's not only a big deal. It pushes you to work together. There was only one-way PFG could have saved this game, and they chose the opposite: to rebalance characters separately for 1s and 2s. Would it have taken a lot of time? Yes, but they also wouldn't have lost 98% of their player base. Because when all 6 of my mains got nerfed for the sake of 1s I dropped the game and looked for another one that respects my time. What makes me sad is I loved MVS so much in beta. It had issues, but it seemed like PFG knew what to fix with a year to do it, boy was I so wrong... But hey, at least Shaggy's sandwiches have never looked better on that new engine!
They will make a Netflix Documentary about the fall off of this game. It was so simple. - Gives us the old speed back. - Give us the old features back. - Give us stock mode. - Give us non team play balance. - GIVE US EVERY CHARACTER FROM THE BETA ON RELEASE?!
the current speed is better, it more stragetic cuz theres an actually advantage stage. the old features are coming back, they rebuilt the game from zero, so ever feature wasnt there on release. this game is a 2v2 game. there is 1v1 balance. and also its live service? other live service games (brawlhalla) doesnt give u every character on release lol
I agree that rifts are absolutely trash and I'm not even wasting my time I'd rather just pay for smith then grind him in this crap but one thing I'll say about the gameplay is I think it's better now than in the beta while the game speed is definitely not my favorite as the only smash I play is melee I did get used to it unlike other smashes where I feel like I'm underwater here I feel like I have control and a slower game allows more moves to be punishable where as in the beta nothing was punishable it was just ppl fishing for a smash till someone died
Game is too slow float too much every character hitbox is either broken or terrible the blast zone is too small the maps are trash and the knockback damage is too broken
Yeah on one hand I do understand that "Coffeezilla" might've made some characters too strong like Batman for example. But they could've reworked that perk or at the very least had it be "you get 7-15% decrease on cooldowns after a parried attack". We lost a lot of flexibility with some of the status ones too.
It takes me 5 seconds to get into a mvs match meanwhile it takes 4 minutes for me to get into an Overwatch ranked match and 30 seconds to 1 minute to get into a valorant game😭
Most of the features that are claimed to be removed were not removed. They simply have to be remade since they remade the entire game in Unreal Engine 5. This is clear when you get feedback from devs addressing the issues and giving updates on those features being worked on. The game was no doubt released due to something out of the devs control directly from WB. It does have some bad monetization options no doubt, but the dev team has since made changes to those systems in place. Its unfortunate the game released how it did but I think its important to realize that thats probably going to be the worst state MV will ever be. The devs are actively listening to its community and implementing changes as feedback arrives.
I gave the devs credit for listening to feedback in the video. For being transparent for what's going on and talking about how there's more changes coming to these characters/we're working on solutions to stop ____ from being a pain point. I also understand that working under WB is a disaster and a circus for any game development studio. Just look at what's going on with NRS and Mortal Kombat 1. However it sucks that the WORST version of the game might be the version that came after a year wait, coming off a beta that a lot of people really liked. Even if those features are being remade, the fact that they aren't here right now means "they were removed". Even if its temporarily, if I can't play something that we used to have access to in previous versions. Then REMOVED is the correct word. Even if it is "removed (for now)"
I sincerely hate rifts, your opinions are vaild. Another issue that I see no one comments on about a lot of players including me is missing a lot of cosmetics from the beta that I spent my own money on
I deleted this piece of 💩 as soon as they deleted the Dodge cancelling to extend combos they nerfed this game into the ground to cater to noobs the game is soooo slow and scammy 90% of players are already done it's straight 🚮🚮🗑️🗑️ it's too many things to complain about I'm good on this 🚮🗑️
the invas- i mean the "rift" mode is probably some type of punishment used on the ninth circle of hell and that no one should have to go through especially on something made to have "fun". I'm literally stuck on the "gem lvl 7 difficulty" even tho i have 3 gems lvl 7 but still isn't enough to complete that unbalanced shit
I originally thought I'd hate the speed of the relaunch, but honestly given I watched some beta clips back, the game was way too fast back then. Nothing felt punishable, combos were lacking and just having the game be more combo centred is nicer
As someone who really loved the movement of the beta, I understand this complaint. While I like the dodge changes a lot I do wish the movement speed was kept. But as game development has shown us, you can not please everyone. I just know some players who left because of it and I'm sure there's player who picked it up because its slower now. A bit of a mixed bag overall but those are the cards we were dealt and I hope PFG makes the most of it. I still think there's some moves that deserve to be more punishable in the current build.
This is the most honest best review I’ve seen for this game thank you most people who reviews this game are not being honest cause they like the game and don’t want it to die which I understand I like the game too but this game is not even have done to being a fully released game at all
I appreciate that and I'll go even further to say that the upcoming "BIG PATCH" they said that's coming soon is going to have to win a lot of people over. If it ends up being more of the same I fear that MVS is going to be on the Struggle Bus for a while.
I don't think its wasted "yet" but for a section of the audience its on thin ice. Because if the current audience gets another big disappointment with the upcoming "BIG PATCH' its going to be a bad, bad, day for MultiVersus.

Just to clarify: The main reason why most of the features from beta didn't carry over on release has to do with the switch from UE4 to UE5, them having to redesign the game from the ground up for rollback netcode, and WB rushing them to get the game released. FYI, it's not that the features were taken out, it's just that they weren't added in

They moved to UE5, they added rollback netcode (which is not an easy thing to do btw), and they were rushed, that's why the game came out the way it did. It was terrible. And no ofc it's not an excuse, but they can't take the game offline again
Listen as the end user of a product its not our job nor responsibility to be too concerned with the "why". I can be sympathetic of course, working with WB has historically been a nightmare for ANY developer on ANY project. However if Chevrolet decided to move to a new build of a vehicle and it removed certain features. We're not going to let Chevy work with the excuse of "its a different chassis & trim model from previous years with a new manufacturing process so we had to remove it to bring it back" as an excuse. Just like a lot of us call out Apple for dropping features randomly from Tablets/Phones just to bring them back in software updates later. We're still annoyed and upset they were removed. Also I get switching to Unreal 5 may be a daunting task but losing out on match reports? We can't print numbers at the end of the match on a results screen? We can't have a smoother "reset" in the training mode? But its always "Fuck WB O'Clock" over here.

I understand that but the only time I remember him wearing blue pants was in a Pup Named Scooby Doo. (Show had a top 3 intro all time) But it does feel wrong seeing an adult shaggy without maroon/crimson/brown pants.
@@BPlusEfforts I actually didn't know that. I knew they'd sometimes give him a red shirt occasionally so I'm not a stranger to them changing up something on his appearance. But it was always the shirt, the pants remained that maroon colouration consistently from what I saw growing up so that was a surprise to me.
I don't believe that its "dead" in the true "its over" category. However I DO believe we're just a couple of "Patches that don't do as well as we had hoped" away from a lot of the playerbase being bored of just playing 1v1/2v2's vs randoms. New characters help but if they don't iron out the system mechanics and tune them to being more consistent, new characters will just be future pain points for a lot of players. Especially if we get another Iron Giant class character like Godzilla or Kong.
