In america they hand out the bipolar diagnose for free. In my country its verry hard to get that diagnoce. You struggle for decades and often not get the diagnoce until your mid 40.

Is it possible that she’s just mentally exhausted, or at most, mildly depressed, especially during these winter months? She doesn’t sound anything like the bipolar people I’ve known through the years.

Bipolar disorder involves periods of depression and periods of mania. It is very difficult to identify this in the average population because there's so much variation among the spectrum

Spectrum disorders are like that. Some people really cope well and don't exhibit symptoms until their whole life crashes and burns.

@@morgandawn6413 Not everyone has manic episodes. I'm bipolar 2 and mostly suffer from extended depressive episodes.

Yes often with bipolar 2 you dont experience mania, you just feel good for a while and stop taling meds cause you dont need them anymore. The depression part is the heaviest.

Yes what an awful position. I feel people with bipolar just could get this annulled in a court. I heard of a patient my teacher had who applied for a job as a pilot. Obviously she was pretty convincing to 😅

This might be the most uneducated comment on bipolar. Mania is not a blanket symptom. Mania could be greatest rollercoaster of your life. Unfortunately what goes up must come down. In some cases coming back down from the heightened state is life saving. Bipolar is like a spectrum, not only that but there are at least 3 different types of bipolar, each of which differ alot as it pertains to mania.

Coming from someone who has it being manic is not fun at all especially if you're having psychosis or delusions. hypomanic is for most but for me in either one I feel out of control and I don't like it.
