The thing is, it's a different person every time. We hear these same stories week after week, and we can't imagine someone falling for it anymore. But these victims hear it for the first time and when you're vulnerable you like to believe it.

Overlooking red flags, such as the correspondence is just one financial problem after another with some canned "love." But I still come back for more because it is such a lesson in the human condition.

I personalize it by picking out a themed card that reflects the Marine’s interests and by using their rank and name in each gift card… 3 years ago I bought 6 gift cards as usual, but about week after the purchase I received a form email from Amazon saying I may have been a victim of a scam and asking if I knew the soldiers I purchased the cards for. I had to call Amazon and confirm they were coworkers and I saw them 5 or 6 days a week. Heck, I’d been out bar hopping with some of them. Saying they’re ATTACKING him is wrong. They’re having a honest conversation with him about the claims she made. They did the right thing in addressing something that was bothering them about the situation. You’re the type of person to hear something and do nothing. Glad they had the COURAGE to confront him and ask him those tough questions so just in case he is being abusive to her, they know they spoke up and tried to offer help to them. That gives you a clear conscience so you can sleep at night without the nagging feeling that maybe you should’ve said something, maybe you should’ve done something.

I think they anticipated the viewers would demand something be done with the accusation. But I think the viewers overwhelmingly doubted her tale. She wasn't even fully committed. There WERE several threads here defending the man. They have been deleted. As have comments about it on their community post. This lady is a cheater and very dramatic. If her husband had an anger problem, surely he would have been furious about her sending all that money, but he seems pretty even and calm. Read the situation better.

It's not a "feeling". DV is never okay but it annoyed me when they completely ignored the guy saying that when they argue and he tries to leave to cool off because he doesn't want to shout she stops him and will get in his way - that's not okay. No one has the right to do that - but they never brought that up to her. The guy can barely move, the "shoving" was most likely him trying to slowly waddle away as she tries to stop him by getting in his way while he slowly pushes through. They were implying and assuming that he's using force with his hands to hurt her, but if that was the case, she would have said he "pushes" me. You can tell she's overly sensitive so any little altercation or disagreement cuts her deeply but it actually wouldn't affect anyone else the same way if they were in that situation. The catfish team did way too much in this case. The husband was nothing but supportive...who cares if he got a little upset, anybody would've been way more upset than he was if this all happened to them 🙄

This was definitely one step too far. There is no way to know what went on behind the scenes with the husband. They should have focused on the scam only. I agree. That’s where it took a weird turn, and she clearly has issues. He doesn’t give off any abusive vibes, and at this point in their lives, they can barely move. I think she is the source of a lot of their issues both real and made up. It was out of line for them to confront Dale like they did and get the family involved.

In that situation, she is trapping him in a situation where he is trying to avoid causing her harm and his only recourse is to try to move past her without causing harm. Obviously, if someone is trying to prevent you from leaving a situation where things are escalating, what are you going to do? Try to get past them and if necessary, push past them.

I tried so hard to explain its a scam and not real and by the end of the conversation it was not clicking so I washed my hands of it. She started the conversation asking if I get hit on, all the time on fb. I said no, and I'm a 28 year woman who's fairly attractive. I tried to gently say that if I'm not getting hit on why would she as a 65 year old disabled woman? Maybe I should have been more blunt about it 🤷‍♀️

Their whole point was because of past abuse from him, she looked for company somewhere else. He had damaged her.
