@@theodoreritola7641 I agree, God kicked Adam and Eve out of the garden after their sin to keep them from eating from the tree of life saying if they ate of it, they would live for ever. Genesis 3:22-24. John 6:51,58, both say the same, the tree was a shadow of good things to come, instead of the tree, we now have the bread of life to eat of and live for ever, but in a reborn spirit, not a spirit that is dead in trespasses and sins. And you are correct about the blood, we are washed in the blood and made white as snow. Blessings.

@@Philip__325 I've watched and listened to him a good amount. He comes across to be as a generally humble guy, often acknowledging his own numerous shortcomings. But he also believes--like Onorato--that he has a duty to convey what he believes God is teaching him. Not liking what he says and not liking him need not be equated. By the way, while Onorato makes the case that Colossians 1:23 isn't referring to eternal security, I'd still recommend taking a close look at the context it brings forth. The prior verse desires that Christ present everyone "holy and blameless." I get the distinction Onorato makes elsewhere on that, but isn't it understood that by a believer being washed and made pure by the blood of Jesus going to automatically make him or her "holy and without blemish?" It may well be that the creator of this video is right on target on all he presents. I certainly hope he is! But it's so utterly vital that all of us need to really take a deep dive and be sure. Our eternal well being depends on it.

I can see how the non-Calvinist would live in doubt, since they're saved by their own action/profession of faith, but how does a Calvinist live in doubt? If you had to succinctly describe your theology and doctrine, how would you describe it? The term "Calvinist" is just a way of describing one's understanding of certain doctrines in Scripture, and a refutation of Arminianism.
@Adam-gm5tm
@Adam-gm5tm Год назад
@@jtbtdlkt2012 Seems the opposite to me in that all the non Calvinist has to do to be saved is to believe on Christ and His work on the cross, while the Calvinist has to add one more caveat which is ‘was I chosen? Who knows! R.C. Sproul a famous Calvinist asked his church to pray that he was saved when he was near death. In an interview he said he was 99 percent sure that he was saved. I have placed my faith in the Gospel we read in 1 Corinthians 15:1-4, and I can absolutely say that I know that I’m saved. I believe Jesus and His words in John 6:47, Verily, verily, I say unto you, he that believeth on Me HATH everlasting life.
@jtbtdlkt2012
@jtbtdlkt2012 Год назад
@@Adam-gm5tm seems subjective; I can't speak to R.C.'s comment (since I've never heard of him saying such), but as for myself, I can rest assured that God has chosen to save me. Not because of a prayer I said or because of a decision that I made, but because of the faith He gifted me with and the repentance He gifted me with; these as fruits of what God The Holy Spirit is doing within my heart.
@Adam-gm5tm
@Adam-gm5tm Год назад
@@jtbtdlkt2012 You can’t be a hundred percent positive that you have been chosen, when according to Calvinism most throughout history were not chosen. I mean, the odds are not good for a Calvinist, because the Calvinist must also believe/hope and assume that they were chosen to be saved, while believing that most were not. All I had to believe was the Gospel we read in 1 Corinthians 15:1-4; and I was sealed with the Holy Spirit of Promise UNTIL the day that God redeems me as we read in Ephesians 1:13-14. Who needs the extra burdens that come with Calvinism?

There is a difference and separation of tares and wheat which are mixed together in the churches. However the distinction is regarding the spiritual seed, tree, fruits that the "kind" will produce. These fruits result in a saintly, holy and godly way of life, but the false planting can also give the outward appearance of godliness, holiness, and righteousness. Like the Pharisees who were like whitened sepulchres outwardly beautiful but inwardly filled with defiling corruption. The difference is between those who have God's holy Spirit and those who have received a deceiving lying spirit of the devil.

It is a rhetorical statement. What paul is saying is that the only way you can lose your salvation is to unbelieve what saved you in the first place. That points it right back to what Jesus did for us, not what we do or dont do in our own lives. I fear for this man when he kneels before Jesus, cause it doesnt seen as though he has his complete trust in what Jesus did for him.

What is similar to Brown and Miller is that both actually believe in perseverence of the saints. Brown believes all can be saved but you must persevere in faith and works to be saved and go to glory. Miller says if you do not persevere you were never God's own to begin with. Both MIX Salvation with service or positional righteousness in Christ Jesus with our daily living. They MUST STAY away from one another as much as a son is always his parents' son but he has now a true freedom of the choice to use his life honorably for respecting parents or disrespecting his parents. What frustrates me is so, so many believers get this FALSE dichotomy, that you must either be for lordship salvation(and most folks in that camp are calvinists) or then an arminian. That is like asking me who'd have a white t-shirt on this: is the clothing I am wearing a red t-shirt or white jacket? Well, it is NEITHER. One has the color correct, the other has the clothing type correct. The same is with arminian and calvinists: arminians habe correct that Jesus died for all and we have true freedom of the will but they are WRONG on loss of salvation, then calvinists are right on eternal security(altough p of tulip is simply legalism in disguise) but they are wrong that Jesus only died for the elect.
@timclark2925

I don't know why so many stumble over these verses....its not difficult.....The concern here is not a loss of salvation, but of God's punishment on those who willingly rebel against His will. Hebrews 10:30 says "The Lord will judge His people!" They are still His people! HELLO! That does not mean they go to hell or lose their salvation; it means that God is going to punish His people IF they willfully rebel against Him.

There is a very simple problem with the dogma of “once saved, always saved.” That problem is that it is just not biblical! The truth is, the dogma of “once saved, always saved” is part of the doctrines and commandments of men. Consider Matthew 15:1-20; Mark 7:1-23 → Galatians 1:6-20 and II John 1:7-11!

So, you are of the belief that Jesus got it wrong when he said we are saved eternally. 1 John 5:10-11 says we are calling God a liar if we don't believe he gave us eternal life, how long is eternal. John 6:51, 6:58, both say we will live for ever.
@kac0404

@EugeneHolley-rc6ry John 15:1-6 - Notice that Jesus makes it very clear: IF you abide in him you are saved. IF you do not abide (i.e., continue to remain) in him you are lost. The most important thing to note is that our salvation is conditional not unconditional. (Consider just some of the conditional statements of Scripture from the Gospel and Epistles of John and the Book of Revelation: John 6:51; 7:17,38; 8:31,36,39,42,51,52; 10:9; 11:40; 12:26,47; 13:17,35; 14:15,23; 15:6,7,10,14 … I John 1:6-10; 2:1,3,15,19,24,29; Revelation 2:5,10,16; 3:3,5,20; 22:18,19; etc.)
@EugeneHolley-rc6ry
@EugeneHolley-rc6ry 4 месяца назад
@@kac0404 You need to look again at John 15:1-6, it does not say you are abiding and then stop abiding, it says one man abides in him and then in verse 6 if a man does not abide in him. They are not the same meaning as one abiding and then not abiding. John 6:51 is only conditional by either believing or not believing, verse 6:58 says it this way. This is that bread which came down from heaven: not as your fathers did eat manna, and are dead: he that eats of this bread shall live for ever. Jesus is the bread, and he is the Word that we feed on 1 Peter 2:2 the milk of the word that we may grow thereby. Genesis 3:22-24 Jesus was the tree of life that was a shadow of good things to come. John 10:28 And I give unto them eternal life: and they shall never perish, never means at no time shall they perish, be separated from God in hell. If it was conditional, then it would not be considered a free gift, not of works as in Eph. 2:8-9. Jesus did not say if we abide in him we are saved, you added the part about being saved, our faith is counted for righteousness, not our works. Romans 4:1-8.

One person is reading the text, the other is reading into the text. One is presenting the text plainly, the other is doing intellectual gymnastics. I go with Occam's Razor. The simpler reading to the text is usually the right one. I don't think the Apostles were writing in code or wrote letters for only qualified theologians because what Corey Minor is saying is not obvious in the text.

Conversion doesn't happen when you say the sinner’s prayer, it begins when there is repentance and belief in Jesus as Lord (Romans 10). Colossians 1:21 addresses many who think they are Christians but they actually aren’t, however, with time they could become christians if they continue with the faith and forsake their old ways. You may be forgiven but you have to believe and confess Jesus as Lord, confession is easy but belief is not. So you can't lose your salvation, people who go back we're never converted because when you truly are, you genuinely hate sin and love God. Instead of debating whether you can lose salvation, we should be looking at what are the marks of a true Christian and prayerfully asking the Holy Spirit to help us grow in the areas that are wanting.

Like most people he is using that verse out of context. Paul is talking to those who were questioning his apostleship because the false teachers were saying that he was not a legitimate apostle. He wasn't commanding them to "examine themselves to see whether they were in the faith." He was saying, "if you are questioning whether I am legit, you have to question whether YOU are legit because I am the one who preached the Gospel to you and you believed. So, if I'm not legit, neither are you." He goes on to say, "Don't you know that Christ is in you, unless you believed in vain." In other words, if they have the Spirit it is because they believed the Gospel that Paul preached, which means they are legit as well as he. Biblically, there is no reason a person should "examine" whether they are saved or not. If you believe the Gospel, you would believe you HAVE eternal life.... HAVE PASSED from death to life. Just like you can't be UNborn physically, you can't be UNborn spiritually. The Bible says that whoever is born of the Spirit is born of incorruptible seed that lasts forever. Believe the promise, or perish.

What I can understand between the debate is that it is Arminian vs. Calvinism. The old guy (arminian) is saying that we can loss our salvation if we don't continue in faith. He is saying that by works and perseverance, we can maintain our salvation. The other bald guy( calvinist) is saying that if we don't persevere in our faith, then we don't have the faith in the first place. He is basically saying that if we don't have works or perseverance in the faith, then it was never Faith in the first place.. Lets put it to the context of marriage : The arminian guy is picturing DIVORCE( meaning they are married but now separated.) The calvinist guy is picturing ANNULMENT( meaning they were never really a married couple in the first place) .... All these confusion but I thank God for the wisdom he gives and the truth he is continuing to reveal. Also thanks for this Channel for also helping me be clarified about the truth of God in his word.

You are misinterpreting the passage in 1 Cor. 3 - it has nothing to do with living a sinful lifestyle. Compare 1 Cor. 13 with this passage to properly understand what God is explaining to us. You can do a lot of works with ungodly motives, but when they are tested by the fire of Gods judgment they will be revealed, and many people will have no reward aside from their salvation (which is obviously amazing enough!)

Another misunderstood passage that Dr Clown misrepresents in his feeble attempt to discredit eternal security. The Word IF is not a hypothetical . It is an assumed fact for the sake of this conversation. ei (followed by any verb) expresses "a condition, thought of as real, or to denote assumptions" (i.e. viewed as factual. for the sake of argument) (BAGD). Accordingly, 1487 (ei) should not be translated "since," but rather always "if" - since the assumption may only be portrayed as valid (true, factual).Bible hub Greek scholar Dr Kenneth Wuest sinks Dr Clowns house of cards: “The word “if” here is not ean, an unfulfilled, hypothetical condition used with the subjunctive mode, presenting the possibility of a future realization, but ei with the indicative, having here the idea of “assuming that you continue in the faith.” That is, continuance in the gospel as it was preached by Paul would show that the person was saved (Ed: Same thought in 1 Cor 15:2-note = "by which also you are saved, if you hold fast the word which I preached to you, unless you believed in vain.") and thus would be presented holy, without blemish, and unchargeable before God. That is, Paul was here addressing truly born-again Colossians, not unsaved professors of Christianity who would follow the Colossian heresy. Heretics would not so be presented, only true believers. It is not the retention of salvation that is in the apostle’s mind, but the possession of it that would be shown by their continuance in the gospel. Expositors says; “This is directed against the false teacher’s assurance that the gospel they had heard needed to be supplemented if they wished to attain salvation. (Wuest's Word Studies from the Greek New Testament: Eerdmans ) In view of the fact or in light of the fact, IF AND I KNOW YOU WILL CONTINUE in the faith, GROUNDED (Perfect tense), firm and steadfast, and not moved away from the hope of the gospel which you heard.

If a person actually believes deeply that Jesus paid it all on the cross by his blood and is relying on that alone for salvation/eternal life, then they will never not believe it. If a person thinks they could lose that eternal life found only in Jesus, then they are not actually a gospel believing individual. The words of Jesus himself, God in the flesh, said "I am the way, the truth, and the life" SALVATION: To clarify the gospel of our salvation: Our gospel that saves us today is to believe that Jesus died on the cross, shedding His blood, was buried and rose from the dead for the forgiveness of our sins. I Cor 15:1-4. That's step one. Step two: We must put our trust in this gospel for the forgiveness of our sins and nothing else, to be saved. It's that simple. Jesus did the work necessary for our salvation. We cannot. Paul puts it this way: Eph 1:13 In whom ye also trusted, after that ye heard the word of truth, the gospel of your salvation: in whom also after that ye believed, ye were sealed with that holy Spirit of promise, True salvation only comes when we believe that Jesus is our ALL SUFFICENT SAVIOR. We cannot add anything to His blood shed and work of salvation on the cross for the forgiveness of our sins. We are not saved by repenting (turning from sin), being baptized in water, walking an aisle, saying a prayer, confessing with your mouth, being “born again”, or following Jesus’ earthly ministry. Those are mostly "works" salvation. We are saved by grace, not works (Rom 11:6), through faith alone, in Christ work on the cross. It is a gift 100%. Rom 3:24 KJV Being justified freely by his grace through the redemption that is in Christ Jesus: Titus 3:5-6, I Cor 15:1-4 Rom 5:8 But God commendeth his love toward us, in that, while we were yet sinners, Christ died for us. He came to save sinners, not people trying to make themselves righteous by doing some kind of good work, getting wet or turning from their sins, they cannot do totally anyway. Simply believe and put your trust in the new gospel Jesus gave to Paul for us today to be saved by. Then start reading Rom - Phil to understand what was written to us the body of Christ, so we could know what God wants from us and who we are in Christ, once we are saved. The books Paul wrote are the only place we find the gospel that saves us today. Then read the rest of your bible that is FOR us but not TO and ABOUT us. 94% of the bible is TO and ABOUT Israel, yes Israel. Don’t steal their mail and try to make it yours. And don’t be fooled by people who tell you, you need to do some good work to be saved or to stay saved or to prove that you are saved. That is not the gospel for us today which is a free gift of GRACE when we believe and trust in what Jesus did on the cross for our sins. Eph 2:8 KJV For by grace are ye saved through faith; and that not of yourselves: it is the gift of God: Eph 2:9 KJV Not of works, lest any man should boast.

Hi brother, I don't mean to bother you again. I am still very concerned regarding my salvation. I have been suffering from addiction on and off for years. I had some very bad things happen to me and I didn't handle them well to say the least. My faith has only grown because I have truly learned that Jesus Christ is my only hope. I have let myself down many times and Jesus hasn't. I like to watch different channels and learn new things, but I have learned that this can be dangerous if I watch the wrong teachers. I know the best medicine is reading the Word of God for myself along with prayer and fasting and I have been making progress. I came across a channel recently called Bible Study 101. He says that 90 something percent of churches are lying to people. I don't think he is too far off. He says that if a person is truly born again they are freed from sin completely and that the Word of God says that plainly. He said Jesus Christ died for our past sins. He didn't die for our present sins or future sins. He says we are not supposed to be sinning or living for the flesh, but by the spirit. I think Allan Ballou teaches similar to him. I know I am not free from sin completely and from what I'm hearing I am fearful. I do fear our Father in Heaven! He has the power to do what he wants to any of us. I apologize if I sound like I am being tossed to and fro. If I could just overcome my addiction I don't think I would have any doubts regarding my salvation. Thank you.

"What shall we say then that Abraham our father, as pertaining to the flesh, hath found? For if Abraham were justified by works, he hath whereof to glory; but not before God. For what saith the scripture? Abraham believed God, and it was counted unto him for righteousness. Now to him that worketh is the reward not reckoned of grace, but of debt. But to him that worketh not, but believeth on him that justifieth the ungodly, his faith is counted for righteousness. Even as David also describeth the blessedness of the man, unto whom God imputeth righteousness without works, saying, Blessed are they whose iniquities are forgiven, And whose sins are covered. Blessed is the man to whom the Lord will not impute sin." "Now it was not written for his sake alone, that it was imputed to him; but for us also, to whom it shall be imputed, if we believe on him that raised up Jesus our Lord from the dead; who was delivered for our offences, and was raised again for our justification." The Apostles assumed these still were authoritative for the CHRISTIAN CHURCH (made of Jew and Gentile) and the earliest Christians afterwards believed the same. There is ONE BODY and ONE BRIDE. Also, regarding Paul’s teaching, he wrote this as well to the believers in Rome: “Therefore, brethren, we are debtors-not to the flesh, to live according to the flesh. For if you live according to the flesh you will die; but if by the Spirit you put to death the deeds of the body, you will live. So you choose to follow the traditions of men, whom came after Christ, even though we have a clear example of simple and pure faith saving a person in Luke 7, as was confirmed and stated by Jesus Christ himself. "And he said to the woman, Thy faith hath saved thee; go in peace." Luke 7:50 Christ didn't say to her; now go and live your life under the demands of the law, or anything resembling that. Christ told the woman her faith HAS saved her, and to go in peace. Christ did not put any additional burden on the woman. Christ declared the woman was saved because of her faith. He did not go on to lecture her on how she should live out the rest of her days in order to stay saved. Christ simply said, "your faith has saved thee". But if you want to follow men instead of God, it's certainly something you are entitled to.

How do you explain Ephesians 1:13-14, Ephesians 4:30 and John 5 and 6? Holy Spirit is given UNTIL the day of redemption which is defined in Romans 8 as glorification of our bodies. If you are for loss of salvation you HAVE TO deny Ephesians entirely because then Holy Spirit is within you and with you until you go "deep enough" into sin and do not repent and loss of salvationists insert. Whatever is "enough", so salvation in that soteriology is Jesus PLUS us not living in sin. Same as roman catholicism just a more subtle form of it. So then the Spirit is not with you until the day of redemption, so by definition you don't believe the Bible. You are in unbelief. Also, Matthew 28 and Hebrews 13 says God will never leave us or forsake us. Loss of salvationists say Spirit leaves you if you do not repent of some long term sin in backsliding. So God is gonna be with you only if you don't remain in sin? Guess what, we ALL sin daily. That leads to sinless perfectionism and focusing on man over Christ
