Going for Borneo early on is a nice boon early on. You can start importing your people to the island and slowly core it. By the mid game, you will end up with a territory that has rubbers and oils for your industrial need.

Laith is still playing with an older version of the Console Command mod, which removes the company button from the left bar. I wonder when he'll realize this.

@@kingo6378 Yeah... it's also that he just doesn't care about budget balancing, but just consoles in money when he's in red (this has been the most obvious) among other things. It's just so meh to watch.

@@bradycollins In most of the video he's in deep read, But here at 16:10 - 16:20, he managed to somehow clear his debt that was half his debt limit to halfway full of his reserve limit. In 3 years! Even though he has been in the red everytime we see it. There's no way, that's unfeasible. I have watched a few of his Vic3 vids, they're mostly noticable like that.

In mobilization tab, which is within the military tab. you can addd modifiers at the cost of resources (Ex. Chocolate requires sugar gives 10% morale recovery) and you also have movement options suchas forced marching and railway transport, while the benefits are great there are temporary debuffs to tranport changes.

Laith, I have an epic challenge for you. I want to see you play through the entirety of history. Starting with Imperator: Rome, you can use the Timeline Extender for Invictus and the Crisis of the Third Century mod for Invictus to play all the way to 467 (I think, or roughly around there). Then you can export it into CK3 using the Fallen Eagle mod which plays all the way through to the end in 1444 (cutting it a bit short), then again starting in EU4, going to Vicky 3, and finishing up with HoI 4. There are converters for all of these games too, so it is possible to pull off. I’m in the middle of mine playing as Achaemenid Persia.

So in my Japan games Heavenly Kingdom has formed, America is an imperial mega state that conquered Vietnam and has started eating The HK, Russia has eaten the top of HK, Austria-Hungry is a thing, Siak has eaten most of Indonesia, and it's 1880 and Texas still exist! It has been interesting

You can't play isolationism. The economy in Vic3 requires gold. If you want the standard of living to increase the people of your nation need gold. The way it works is that when their income is more than their expenses they bank the difference until a certain point when their standard of living increases and their demands for products increase. Then the process continues until the equilibrium is reached. The key point here is if you don't have the gold, demand will not increase and you can't build stuff, if demand is low for everything and it can happen. You can reduce taxes and then reduce construction sectors to increase demand, but at some point if you develop well enough the same thing will happen. Every economy produces a certain amount of "money" through minting, but it is not enough. It can be increased through tech or gold mines. The main way though is through trade. Exports that is. Imports do the opposite.

I think it's actually his computer fan struggling to cool the CPU tower. Sounded like it'd rev up and then rev down every so often, though inconsistent due to the nature of jump cuts in Laith's videos.

Japan isn't considered the first non-European power to beat a European power in a war - it is however, considered the first Asian power to defeat a European in a war (which still isn't necessarilly true, it's only really true once you limit the region to East Asia - since the Ottomans and Persians were on the Asian continent, and beat Europeans in wars earlier)

the war panel doesn't show the civilian casualties, you need to check the pop growth of each states for that. Over 50% devastation you get very big civilian casualties

+200% mortality at 100% devestation. And since devestation lowers SOI that increases both mortality and birth rate, really raising civilian deaths. You can easily get -5% to -10% pop growth in such states. In a war as france against austria that devolved into a stalemate cause i couldnt push further, had 1 million casualties for france, 1.8 million for austria. And about 6 million civilains for austria. I figure 2-3 million was from emigration and the rest from mortality. Everything west of vienna had their pop drop by atleast 1/3rd, could be more since i only started looking at it after it happened. Switzerland, whoch was allied to austria, somehow could still find pops to put into their army..., but as a nation has a graph showing pop so its easier to track, went from 4.44 million pops to 2.9 million with no end in sight to the drop.

first non European power to beat a European empire in a war was probably in bronze age in the medieval ages Russia was conquered by mongols I get what you mean when talking about russo Japanese war but it's really not the first anything aside from being the first "brief triumphant war" of russian history but certainly not the last

@@Radcirxles I realized this right after I commented, thus my other comment mentioning how he still hasn't used an up-to-date version of the cheat mod that doesn't block his "company" button. Truly, still hasn't even updated it in his latest video. It's quite noticable, especially as someone who has played the game and seeing his reserves jump up from half bankrupt to almost full in like 3 months.
