Thanx for a HONEST assessment. Keep in mind people make excuses for him like he wasn't used right. Why is it that he has to have SPECIFIC routes to simply be successful and help his QB do his job? The QB has to basically SPOON FEED him the ball to get the chains moving that being the case the qb will CONTINUE to look elsewhere. And your right he is not abnormally quick or fast and all this run after the catch crap as if he is Deebo Samuels is BS. He isnt even that good sfter the catch outside of TCU where he primarily faced poor talent at corner. 🤷🏽♂️
It's beyond me. The red flags were abundant in his profile and nothing he did eased any of those concerns. He could end up being a good player, as there is always a chance anyone develops, but there was absolutely nothing shown this past year which indicates that will happen in any way, shape or form.

Harbaugh is going to hold guys accountable and brings IMMEDIATE will to get better with him. The man flat out knows what he's doing out there. We've been needing a REAL coach for ages man.

Brandon Staley reminded me of Dennis Allen so much... no leadership or sense of presence at all. He is a good DC, but just like Arthur Smith and others like him, not a HC.

The coaches will use his strengths to take advantage of defenses. Plus he was open alot and herb didn't look his way. Give him a chance. Even if he gets a few catches a game, it will help.
I sure hope so, because you never want someone to flame out. To be fair, everyone knew he was a raw prospect with better physical tools than technical skills as a receiver. Moreso than his actual skills, it's that in a run-heavy offense he may be the fourth receiver, leading to a lack of total opportunity in 2024 and beyond. If Roman leaves, things would look much better for him in the future.
Yes..he didnt do well last year. Now in 2024 he has different coaches...who vowed to use him differently. So I think one should forget about last year and give him a chance...to be used to his strengths
I wish him the best, but I think is best role would be as a big slot, but with them spending high 2nd round draft capital on McConkey, it seems like he might be the odd man out, especially in a Greg Roman and Harbaugh scheme, which projects to be extremely run heavy. Have you heard anything from the staff stating where they might use him this year?

The news is that he is projected to be pushed down to the WR4 role in this offense, per The Athletic. In a Greg Roman and John Harbaugh offense, this role wouldn't be projected to have much target volume, thus making his fantasy value and real life football value, potentially much lower than it was at the end of this past season. The point of the video was that there is real concern that a bounce-back season might not happen if this news it true.
These types of videos are extremely annoying. Most rookies do not have a great first year. No matter what pick! Give him a chance!! Stop the negative waffling.. His second year will be monstrous!!
