In Lesley's film, it was mentioned that we in Scandinavia each have our own currency, etc., and that as such we have no desire to form a common Nordic union. It has to do with history, because we have always fought and tried to take over each other's countries. But at the same time, it has led to a great familiarity and connectedness to each other like a pack of siblings. As a Dane, I myself have lived in other EU countries and think that everyday Denmark seems somewhat contained and in itself. But at the same time, we are really busy trying to outdo each other within Scandinavia. Like rival siblings. Scotland has not had quite the same history, but they have had their rival clans with a common Scottish identity. And the location, conditions and values of life are very similar to Scandinavia. I guess it's never too late to work towards it.

Hello from Denmark ... the film was great. I think 'trust' is the all consuming word in this. Installing trust amoung people, trusting teachers, kids, authorities, politicians etc. is the fundamental ingredience of achieving this.

Hi, a Dane here. If you wanna know how Social Democracy started, check out this video: How Denmark invented Social Democracy Don't be fooled by the title. The video is made by a German guy, it is brilliant. If you listen very carefully, you will learn why Britain never "came to Denmark". Going to Denmark, is just an expression in the video, it will be explained. I strongly urge you to see it. It is a very educational video. Not made by Dane, but a German.

Scotland is a Scandinavian country. This is something that I have always believed. It is just that England is our neighbour and the English Feudal System that we are tied into severs our spiritual link to our true identity. Thank you for the video and the thought provoking discussion.🥌

Bravo ladies... I've thoroughly enjoyed Lesley and Co's films presenting life on the 'other side' as examples of what COULD be for us. The disconnect in the UK is as ever the people, except when it meets the political construct of 'government', which is bass-ackward in a Nordic sense...

The only thing we have in common with Denmark is the size of our population. Any extrapolation that we can emulate their society without understanding the profound cultural, economic and historical differences is simplistic.

I'm from Denmark and I'm proud of our well functioning welfare state. However, I'm worried about our future. Like many other countries, neo-liberal politics is slowly but surely destroying our country from within by spending more and more money on war for no good reason but enriching the weapons industry. We need to start focusing on how to obtain a peaceful world instead of following the big war monger blindly!

Dane here. If you really want some insight and inspiration I suggest you take the time to read this. I have seen Lesley´s film and it have many good points. I consider her emphasis on Denmark´s former size and power primarily in the film for her local audience. In a "more modern" context I think the story should have begun with the many that left, not only Denmark and rest of the Nordic nations but also Scotland for USA back around 1850´s when many Western European nations had problems creating wealth for itself enough for the majority to thrive. Regarding our wind industry. I am in my mid 50´s and when going to public school I were taught about the basics regarding climate change on a level that it should have been globally if the world should have looked different. Danes supporting a transition to a fossil fuel free energy production and usage are a no brainer for most Danes. Regarding Scotland I simply do not understand why you are not following our example. A offshore windmill typically lasts 25-30 years. When first time establishing it it comes with higher costs than the replacement decades later but if we say it first time fully pay for itself in 10 (10 are high set! Often it are 7-8 here) years it are a hell of a deal! So Scotland basically can take up loans earmarked for this only, a Scottish company. Vestas have a long history of establishing themselves, creating local jobs, when long term contracts are made. Then workers can work assembly the mills they then later can be part of maintaining. Instead of sending your hard currencies to journalist and opposition killing dictatorships financing their wars against us selves or our neighbours the money get to work in our own region. Danes prefer to buy locally from our surroundings if possible. When POOtin´s got his brainmelt and illegally attacked Ukraine, Denmark were a lot less hit than all our surroundings due to the level of emission free energy we have reached. Denmark now on average produce over 65% of our electricity by emission free means, primarily offshore windmills. On a good windy day it´s over 150% In a few years that will become a permanent emission free energy export. Last summer France, that have A LOT of nuclear power had to shut down many of them due to climate change related reasons. Their rivers simply had so low water levels that they could not provide cooling power, I cannot remember if it were Scotland or Ireland that at the end of that summer made a deal to draw a cable to France to sell them electricity from their off shore windmills. I believe that cable are being worked on right now. The worlds largest transition project, The North Sea Summit Agreement, between Denmark, Germany, Netherlands and Belgium, signed Jan. 2023, will in just a decade transition 220 million Europeans away from fossil/nuclear fuel to emission free electricity made by offshore windmills along these nations shorelines. On top, inside same agreement, the worlds largest green hydrogen production. A small one digit percentage of the hydrogen will be used to ensure emission free energy when the wind does not blow. Let´s remember that hydrogen are made of electricity and water and when burned it only emits.....wait for it.......water! Many politicians are afraid of change because their voters show with their votes that they are afraid of change. It are important to understand that when transitioning from a fossil fuel based reality to an emission free one that also include hydrogen a longer period of constant twitching of tax systems are needed. We have generally globally built a system based on fossil fuels and when transitioning to emission free energy we have to realise we have to increase taxes on fossil fuels and maybe ease the way for the emission free in the initial investment period to establish infrastructure. Overall it should not be to create an increased revenue but simply to maintain same by this twitching. To many politicians do not dare to say that out loud. Less so in Denmark. Denmark are constantly amongst least corrupt nations on the planet and at the same time we have a very high degree of digitisation thus our politicians have a very deep insight into what their twitching s mean for the every day citizen and thus can counter this. That trust between politicians and population that they have that knowledge and will use it to ensure the transition wont create random devastating losses along the way are part of why we are not afraid of leading the way. I would like to add another benefit that I am sure Scott´s will appreciate when they understand reality. The foundations of offshore windmills fast functions as mini reefs. First seaweed and mussels, that eat CO2, establish themselves and then it forms the base for smaller fish/nurseries. By not allowing fishing inside the parks you will fast see an increase in the bottom of the aquatic food chain bettering conditions also for one of the other key industries you have. Danes generally have stopped having alcohol when doing politics. We have a multi party democracy and basically always have multi party coalitions running the nation. They often lock themselves in with a lot of coffee and hold marathon meeting to hammer deals out. We Danes consider all our neighbours, also those we share water with, as friends. WE want regional cooperation. Make your politicians isolate your investments in offshore windmills so you can see the growth of the return of your investment and be prepared to accept the almost yearly twitches needed until the full transition hopefully fast have taken place. To be honest. Last two decades most Danes have been baffled that others have not made a copy/paste of our energy strategy away from fossil fuels. Most of us think it are more about the billion the fossil fuel industry have used in bribes and dis and mis information globally combined with politicians afraid of telling the truth of the need to constantly reform taxsystems along the way. I will agree with Lesley in the film when talking about central urban heating. Why not combine the transition to en emission free reality with central heating and create even more local jobs while saving money as well overall? Btw. Are you aware that Denmark are the only nation on earth that have taken the parliamentary decision to fulfil it´s demands in the Paris climate accord 5 years ahead of time? If we can be part of transitioning 220 million Europeans in a decade I am sure Scotland could transition themselves inside same time period and follow us in that WHILE laughing all the way to the bank! If you want to be angry then be angry at those that made you believe it were a good idea to send your hard currencies to dictators when all the energy you need are along your very own coastline. Establish a Scottish energy company owned by the state and partly the people through stocks. Loanfinance the entire project and lock incomes to pay down debt in 10 years and realise the many workers taxrevenue will boost your BNP on a whole other scale than if you send a large percentage of your hard currencies to fossil fuel sellers far from home. And as you reach break even, consider using some of the revenue to build more than own need and sell it to highest bidders. Our atmospheric carbon content SHOULD be 220 PPM and now have passed 420 PPM. As climate related weather extremes increase there will be public outcry´s to transition. It have never been a winning strategy to put your head in the sand when your house is on fire. Finally. The 4 stroke hydrogen car/train/truck/plane engine have been invented! Mercedes over a decade ago patented a liquid hydrogen car fuel tank that can hold over 99% of content for 12,5 years without engine ever switched on. Toyota 2 years ago put up clips here on YT of both a hydrogen family car and a hydrogen racecar participating in a 24 hour endurance race. Formula one´s board already have announced they eventually will transition to hydrogen engines reflecting what their engineers increasingly work on. The true future car are NOT running on batteries but hydrogen. A hydrogen engine, as well as a windmill turbine/generator, popular speaking can be thrown in the oven and a new, incorporating latest technology, can be made. Perfect for the circular economy and a much more sustainable future. I would love to buy a hydrogen car made in Scotland! How about taking a talk with Toyota? In this new emission free reality there are plenty of first mover advantages to gain! BUT you need to get the finger out! Remember that the worlds largest green hydrogen production will happen between the 4 nations mentioned earlier. The market for these cars and many many other newer seen before appliances will explode in 8-10 years. It are NOW or others will do it! GO GO GO! I want our region to prosper, not human rights abusing dictatorships!

Thanks so much for taking the time to give us such a detailed and interesting response! The big frustration for Scotland is that as part of the devolution settlement with the UK, the Scottish government is forbidden from owning, transmitting, generating electricity. The Scottish government also has very limited borrowing powers. We could get round this by having local councils or other bodies own electricity generation instead, and this happens in some small scale community projects, but lacks any kind of strategic co-ordination. We need to tackle this so we can move forward in some of the ways you suggest. Your comments about the hydrogen car industry are also very interesting, we will look further into this topic. Totally agree with your last sentence too!

@@ScottishIndyPodExtra (1) Thank you! Then I will continue along those lines and start by explaining a bit of context. Even modern Danes have not forgotten the sacrifices and support we had from all inside the UK umbrella during WW2. I want to turn your attention to the fact that Denmark joined then EEC at same time as the British+ and we have largely been pulling and voting in the same direction in now EU trying to avoid movement towards a US style construct. Brexit have meant that the voting force to prevent this have become weaker and that, I think, will weaken the parts of UK outside of EU trade barrier-wise. That do not apply to you! If we are real here it were a huge loss of prestige in many Danes and other Western European eyes when Shell moved HQ to London. The hypocrisy of letting Russian blood money hugely affect London, also gives "Trump vibes" many places at the continent. In my humble political analysis, the remaining big players inside EU will make sure no special deals are given, if a rejoin becomes political reality. The English language have been a huge advantage for all of you for a long long time but the many harsh words, many of them untrue, spewed out against just about any nation inside EU, have made some nations populations and often so too their politicians more reluctant. I am here not talking about Denmark and the Danes but rather amongst the larger player nations. In my judgement Scotland and Ireland have benefited immensely from the EU membership. Referring to the headline. In an economic context Denmark/Danes should maybe be the ones feeling cheated, not you or Ireland. Denmark now are the largest net contributor financially per Capita to EU, basically we pay a lot more than we receive. For a brief moment I thought that the whole Brexit movement had an underlying trend of a wish to become more societal "social democratic"/like Denmark/Finland/Norway. I had a thought pre brexit, that it would lead to a fast dismantling of the House of Lords and a more multi party oriented political scene. Well, clearly here admitting I am not an oracle. We DO feel close to the British but the reversal of the somewhat "large nation progressiveness" climate wise, that have been so beneficial, remarkedly where reversed with the Shell HQ movement. I guess some Swiss bank accounts got a huge boom and some party donations, one way or the other, benefitted "some". It have given me the worst Trumpian vibes and I cannot spin that in a positive way. It looks from my point of view as a total disaster. THUS I would urge you to make some fast structured efforts to pursue the "council strategy" Anything preventing you from creating a "council structure coordination board" (aligning/coordinating actions trough democratic common understanding of an "over local" strategy)? Energy transition wise Britain must be left behind, if their politicians have fallen to Trumpian antidemocratic levels. Our planet are on fire and truth are that holistically the transition have to happen NOW! WE truly as humanity on this planet are OUT OF TIME! I cannot emphasise enough that as soon as you mentally, as population, are able to see the absurdity in sending your hard currencies out of the nation increasingly becoming pawns in others profit-hunting, on an unsustainable energy form, the sooner it will be clear, that benefits locally, job, financially, BNP-wise will be in your court, as long as you detach yourself from a rigid "fossil fuel world taxation" thinking. The 220 million people that will be transitioned via the North Sea Summit agreement far exceeds the populations in the 4 named nations. EU have sanctioned the project and though no real EU money are channelled to the project, it have been agreed that all (natural) gas pipes put in the ground should from now on be hydrogen ready, so they eventually can be used for hydrogen, as the CO2 emitting gas are phased out. This would thus mean that if Scotland took the double decision to go self sufficient energy wise by offshore windmills you also could put down pipes for central heating that at the same time are hydrogen ready and thus truly, both when it comes to emission free electricity and emission free central heating, could free yourself financially from other players "erratic" behaviour. The sudden fluctuations in fossil fuels will only increase coming years until OECD and dictators cannot hold the line anymore and that market collapses as demand drops fast (as transition projects materialises into the grid and energy market). WHEN THAT happens it will create global instability are my prediction. Then it will be a huge strength to be able to politically and financially have a good distance. Denmark have an underground that would allow fracking and we have looked into it resulting in a Danish ban on fracking in our nation. We have a discovered oilfield we have banned from being exploited. So please understand we are not coming from a position where we are not ready to let our wallet defend our believes. So despite that we are still seeing our economy being strengthened by our transition policy. The reality of leaving the lies of the fossil fuel industry behind us point in the right directions but only because we keep the twitching s frequent so the fluctuations for the individual citizens and the private enterprises are understood by nearly all political parties to be monitored and related to. Germany screwed up big time when they made the Nordstream deals with an unstable dictator in Russia and they basically sent the hard currencies to POOtin that allowed his illegal war and colonisation attempt. They even kept pursuing this after 2014 where he stole Crimea (that Russia fully recognised as Ukrainian in the Budapest Memorandum) and the downing of the Malaysian Airlines jet costing 300 life´s hereunder 200 from Netherlands also did not stop them. NOW Germany have completely reversed course and are part of the North Sea Summit agreement and bet fully on offshore electricity and green hydrogen. basically a complete 180 in a years time. I am talking about Denmark´s political decisions and the recent from Germany (and Netherlands/Belgium) to emphasise the very real industrial revolution that now have been set in motion. This are structurally no longer "hopes and dreams" that "eventually" have to happen. This are very real very large structural political and strategic decisions that HAVE been made. IF (!) Scotland truly takes this reality to heart and joins or surpasses these events YOU WILL be part of an industrial revolution! An industrial revolution that will happen as result of the massive amounts of green hydrogen that WILL begin to flow in 8 years time. When it comes to industrial revolutions/paradigm shifts, history books are very very clear. If you snooze, you loose! In my book Airbus (Germany/France/Britain) have made a huge blunder by establishing themselves in China. The Chinese must be laughing their asses of while they feel they have consolidated their steal of Tibet and their many other illegal moves in the South China Sea right now but nevertheless. The hydrogen jet engine have been in use for decades just not for planes but rather at hydroelectric dams where they make hydrogen at locations to run them. Boeing and Airbus are playing with fire if they do not soon announce a future delivery date of the designwise different hydrogen driven planes in my belief. The worlds largest shipping and logistics company, Maersk, already have announced they have a full plan to eventually switch to hydrogen engines leaving bunker oil behind. If the airline industry are not very soon ready to announce a potential delivery date of hydrogen jet engine based planes they risk a global fast decision to build a continent connection vacuum based hyperloop. The benefits of such an option would be enhanced by a equally continent connecting supergrid following it´s path. Should that happen a global alignment of the price of emission free energy could be a very real consequence. As consequences of our stupid lack of timely transition comes to haunt us ever more by the day, the public outcry for predictability and action will grow fast. Personally I believe the global mental turning point will come inside a decade and will be triggered when several large farming nations harvests fail at the same time causing global famine that easily can cost 100 of millions of life´s. It can happen next year, in 5 or maybe 10 if we are "lucky" but it will happen and at that point all things "transition" oriented will see a huge price spike when all want to do the same at the same time.

@@ScottishIndyPodExtra (2) Large industrial up gearing often takes a decade with all the interconnected needs, supplychains, have to be geared up. In other words....Those that act NOW can only be long term winners in my book. The hydrogen revolution WILL happen and have been set in motion, results just wont be seen by endusers before it begins to flow and that are 8 years from now. I read an IMF report that estimated that 49% of global railroads now are not electrified. They estimated it would have a global cost of - hope you are sitting down - 500 trillion US Dollars to electrify them. Many nations have electrifying these railroads on top of their transition investments since the diesel and diesel electric locomotives used now represent a real emission hazard that are tangible. BUT reality are that all the 49% of global railroads currently not electrified simply can swap their diesel/diesel-electric locomotives with liquid hydrogen locomotives and thus spend the 500 Trillion on other transition investments! Big bubbles, no troubles! No matter where I look I see opportunities for those that understand how truly fucked humanity are and our habitat are, if we do not make radical changes that we should have made over last 5-7 decades. Realty are WE are the monkey generation! Well, actually worse! Name me one other mammal that knowingly and deliberately destroy the very habitat that created it and allowed it to thrive and multiply!? The climate do not care what any decide in shady meetings behind closed doors. The atmosphere and our oceans simply respond to the massive amounts of greenhousegasses we spew out. Outside you coastline the Gulfstream are superheating and slowing down at the same time! A real risks of a collapse of the thermohaline global system are now on the table. We do not even understand what that would mean except that such a collapse would result in instant global mega changes overnight (back to the harvests and fauna!). Right now the climate tipping point of the thawing of the Siberian and Canadian tundra are accelerating. As the thawing accelerates so does the huge amounts of methane seeping out. Methane are a 22,5 times worse greenhouse gas than CO2. ONLY way to stop that are cooling the planet down again and ONLY way to do that are reaching net zero AND apply carbon capture technics! Right now nations like USA, Canada and not least Australia are subsidising fossil fuels and increase their emissions! In 2024 while we have passed 420 PPM. Either we "accept" humanity are heading for a concrete wall while increasing the pressure on the accelerator or we make radical changes. The political instability that will come as result either way, are certain. Those that have provided themselves with emission free self sufficiency before the shXt hits the fan can only be winners. Last 15 months have beaten all records temperature wise globally. The climate tipping points that have begun to trigger now suddenly place us in the upper end of the envelope of most scientific predictions. Our part of the world now have passed the 1,5 C degrees that were agreed in the Paris accord to be the limit we should stay inside to 2050! In other words. The shxt HAVE begun to hit the fan! Tipping points are tipping points and those that do not act NOW will have to do more faster and at a higher cost. If British leadership have been so corrupted that they now move backwards you must ensure you are not drowning in the slipstream but instead urgently do what are needed for your long term survival and stability. To use an analogy. Maybe time to understand reality and think that; "no matter how positive my feelings are for the British, I am not ready to stay on the Titanic, as it go down, when there right now are life rafts available!" . Please understand that 10 years ago I considered Britain to be transition progressive in a large nation comparison and expected us to have deep cooperations for many decades regarding this area. Britain choose to suddenly put their heads in the sand while inviting one of the worst companies on the planet to London. Now how many jobs have THAT created? How many benefits have THAT provided Britain with? I am devastated on behalf of the British people but they must change their political leadership and i have no control in that regard but can only hope some read this and it helps them to understand reality and make them demand radical changes. Nevertheless Scotland must not be dragged into their suicidal Trumpian dead end! The radical changes the hydrogen based new reality will come with are endless. Offshore windmills are just a component in this. Make your own groundwork NOW to be part of the industrial revolution. If you do not have access to green hydrogen fast you are preventing yourself from being part of harvesting the fruits of others mistakes based on their lack of taking scientific realities serious in due time. The more years it takes before the large nations harvests do not fail at the same time are the years where you have a chance to get good prices in your transition projects. When it happens, and it will, prices will explode overnight as all wants to buy same at same time. You btw now can buy a container sized aggregate, made in Denmark, to couple to a windmill and create green hydrogen on the fly. Maybe an idea for some of those that could invent some of the many appliances YOU can sell to the world futurewise? The sooner they have access to green hydrogen the sooner they can begin to invent! USA, Canada, Australia subsidises fossil fuels and increase their emissions while their populations increasingly despair. The solutions the world soon will need bad should be made in our region because WE act and understands reality. I have considered myself globally oriented my entire life but the only region where I see real answers to our dire situation are in our region. Please be part of the ride. The iceberg HAVE been struck. Not all will survive! I cannot express myself more clearly! Finally. On a whole other note. Immigration and integration were mentioned. Maybe you remember the "muhammad cartoon crisis"? That caused Danes to understand reality. We realised that although only 5% of the population then were immigrants from muslim nations they occupied 50% of our jail cells. That meant we began to limit this immigration related to the specific nations where we could data-wise prove were more than problematic. We also realised that data proved that the children of those immigrants were even more criminal than their arriving parents thus we could face an increase in problems even by closing doors why that became an important first step. Not based on anything than what our own data proved to us. It are completely unacceptable, no matter where on the political spectrum you belong, to see people getting very real threats to their life´s for putting a pencil to a paper. Danes are a a very tolerant people unless it comes to intolerance to an open democracy with free world freedom rights! Simple as that. After basically closing our borders for these groups we have increased the spending on getting them educated and in jobs instead of filling our prisons. Wherever we can get away with with kicking them out when have received sentences over 6 months, without breaking any conventions we have signed onto, we do it. That includes that we increasingly have stripped some of citizenship already gained if they have dual citizenship's. We began that journey 20 years ago after that crisis while neighbouring Sweden did the opposite and invited even more in. Actually 2 millions last 20 years when including those coming in via Swedish "family gathering" rules. 20 years ago Denmark and Sweden had similar low crime rates. Now Sweden have most murders, rapes and bombings in entire Europe! Their new-ish coalition government have announced they plan to triple the number of jail cells in 10 years! Swedish unemployment rates are very high in a Western European comparison. I hope the Scottish people understand it are not racism to relate to actual statistics based on actual conviction and actual death threats that have been given and executed. May you find the national unity that allows you to face reality as a people, no matter what end of the political spectrum you are on. Nothing wrong with agreeing to disagree in an open democratic setting as long as you agree on what reality are! Are the deep issues we see in "Murdoch" nations like US/Australia/Britain/Canada not that they have begun to argue "reality"? The evil powers behind POOtin and those trying to argue reality and change it away from actual reality, like climate science/reality are coming from the same primitive short sighted monetary greed. That greed wont bring humanity forward when the planets regulating systems break down around us!

The less appreciated element of the collaborative Parliament with numerous parties is that things don't get changed back or undone out of spite in quite the same manner as is rumoured elsewhere - even if one isn't in power, odds are a few of the other parties making up the majority, *were* involved in getting "strawman thing" passed and as such are an insurance and defence of it in any one party's absence. The "generational" party voters ('this is an X family') are getting to the age where they need assistance getting to the polling stations - there aren't many votes left in that barrel. Parties and representatives are (it feels) more 'of the people' here than I know from England. Even at the County level. The political market (Politicians and the Public alike) is having similar struggles to when we had to get Granny to use a smartfone - the disconnect is palpable and just expecting her to 'get with it' isn't going to be productive. Nor is her insistence on buttons when she can't press them anyway. Voice apps, 30 minutes of patience and the old girl knocks out her letters in a 42 page sms.. Happy Granny is an asset to the family, angry Gran is troublesome.. We need to get away from the points scoring and back to problem solving. More clean hands along each step and the price (therein value for our taxes) of change is lowered. We're [generally] still often too busy looking for data that backs our view, rather than just reviewing the most relevant or accurate data. Science is starting to suffer more and more from the same thing.

We didn't loose! We knew when to withdraw! Danish Kings ruled England, though King Knud the 2nd, "Canute The Great" actually didn't rule over "The Danelaw" by that! But still he ruled over one of the largest areas in the North, ever! And he wasn't at all a Fool but a brilliant Politician!!! The Norwegian try for this ended at Stamford Bridge, though a Danish King, Knud the 4th had collected a Major Invasion Fleet (A Full Leding. Only claimed a few times during attacks on England!) for an Attack on England in 1086! So the History could have been much different!!! But sadly for him, he couldn't decide when to order the Attack and sail, so he ended up in Albani Church on the island of Fyn, being hunted by a group of his Chiefs, and asking for The Church Sanctuary by the Alter!! But late time Vikings, though officially Christian, to look at, didn't care about this Nonsense, so they killed him, his Bishop and round 20 of his men in the Church, aptly named after an British Saint! So he became an unlikely "Saint", and is still to be seen below the Church, with his Bishop! Finn. Denmark

What a wonderful thought with a north European green energy powerhouse, with wind energy from Denmark, Scotland, Holland, England, Belgium combined with water energy from Norway, Sweden, Finland and Islands volcanic underground heating. It's possible, just some decisions away.

Maybe worth looking at the per capita consumption of antidepressants. Unfortunately, Denmark, Iceland and other countries which are in the worlds happiest are also having large per capita consumption

According to Euronews Iceland has the highest per capita consumption followed by Portugal and then UK. Denmark is 7th, Norway 14th. www.euronews.com/health/2023/09/09/europes-mental-health-crisis-in-data-which-country-uses-the-most-antidepressants#:~:text=Consumption%20of%20antidepressants%20drugs%20in%20selected%20countries&text=In%202020%2C%20the%20consumption%20of,and%20Spain%20(87%20DDD).

You are comparing apples to oranges. Happiness level in this context is about feeling trust in one's society and relationship with fellow citizens, -not about internal general feelings as a human being. It's just more relaxed in societies due to trust and social safety nets. Not Make or Break, less desperation and therefore less crime. And then there is also a big difference in how often people go to the doctor in different countries and whether doctors prescribe antidepressants like candy in different countries.

Answer is: D-vitamin is prescribed as an antidepressant during the dark months of the year.

Hi, sorry to hear that. The background music is only for the first minute or so, if you skip to the point where Lesley starts speaking at 00:01:46 there's no more background music apart from 2x 1 minute clips from the film and our wrap up at the very end

This is food for thought! I live in Denmark, and must remind you that there are snakes in paradise. We also have an emerging right wing, wanting to undo things! Like leaving the EU. So far they are aware that this is not a way to gain influence in politics. But it is important to show the other way. This way, is the way of collaboration. I see brexit as a disaster, mostly for the UK, but also for us. In my dreams, is a Scotland in the EU, showing the dark forces of Ukip and like minded , what we can do together. Samsø is nice, but to scale up, you still need internationalism.

Maybe, one of the big differences between Denmark and most other countries is that the political parties in Denmark understand that whatever they decide to do when in power must be to the benefit of the country and the people. Petty party politics as may be seen in especially America is simply not a thing in Denmark. Political parties disagree on most things but they do respect decisions made by other political parties previous in government if or when they can gauge that the changes introduced by earlier governments produced positive outcomes. After a general election, a government having the majority vote in parliament will get 4 years before the next general election. Most Danes are not necessarily political diehards. Danes will change which political party they vote for very quickly if the party they previously voted for did not deliver or at least tried to deliver on their promises. Just because you voted on a right wing party last time does not mean you will do it next time if that right wing party did not try to keep their promises.
