the only gripe i have is the elbow not bi-color knowing Bandai can actually do it as they've made in the past on other lines like Kamen Riders. But yea, this is currently my favorite Spider-man of all versions in my collection. also, Tobey's webbing is gunmetal on his actual suit, not black.

@@johns3153 SHF only uses this style for characters that wears skin tight suits as well as for characters that are known for dynamic poses. That's why you don't see it on a lot of other figures. For direct comparison, I have the MAFEX mcu iron spider and the SHF mcu iron spider (new one). I love the MAFEX aesthetics and proportion, but the SHF definitely wins in more natural looking dynamic poses. In order for the MAFEX to do the same pose, you have to hide it with Lots of DBZ characters uses this method due to the more dynamic poses from the manga and anime.

@@johns3153 DBZ example would be the saiyan armor Vegeta and trunks, literally ball-bags lol. ROTJ Luke I think has the same type of joint MCU Tony Stark w/ mk42 armor and same as Star Lord with a soft diaper piece. Those can get good poses done, but not nearly as much as where you can do a front kick straight up & down. Don't get me wrong, they get definitely get it to look like the Kamen Riders (which is the best line SHF makes IMO) which wears similar style suits, but Riders don't need to crouch like Spider-mans. It may not be aesthetic pleasing to some, but it's the most accurate way (anatomically correct) to do it. My only two SHF Spider-man is the mcu iron spider and this new Tobey btw, the rest are all MAFEX, so you can see I prefer aesthetics accuracy. but this new Tobey is actually really good that I can look past it.

Got mine about a month ago and man this figure is amazing. People can complain but I like it even more than the new classic suit MAFEX Spiderman surprisingly.

Honestly, awesome to hear dude. I was between the two because this is going about for about the same price as the Mafex “classic” repaint version. I guess I bit the bullet tho and went this this guy because I felt I already have a few good classic Spidey’s, but I would be kicking myself forever if I missed out on such a solid fig of my childhood hero…. Unless Mafex releases a version themselves, unlikely but then I’ll be salty 🤣

Build quality is very important. I recently purchased a 140$ mezco deathstroke and he dropped 4ft to the ground and one of his armor plates broke off on his ankles. I was and still am so mad.

The thing is, it probably would of went for 60 or even 70 and it would of fly... But the thing is... This is THE spiderman everyone with a bank account wants... So yeah, put that 90$ mark on it and it goes flying anyway

not the issue. The $90 is simply because they're paying double licensing royalty. Sony + Disney in order to license Tobey's Spider + the Movie license from Disney.

@@jakea75 correct, the official JPY is 8800yen which converts around $65. Edit: it's also odd that in the US, these are sold by Amazon which has a deal with Bluefine which is owned by Bandai. I'm guessing it has some thing to do with Disney IP needs to be over certain pricing (like previously they did with MCU figures with effect parts: now they just say fuck it and just marks it up) in the US market due to Marvel's licensing agreement with Hasblow.

Paint, sculpt and accesories are nice, but his entirely blue elbows are distracting as well as his gappy torso and hips. Overall, still a great figure.

90$ to get everything you need in terms of acessories and for it to he done right the first time is alot better than the 4th or 5th try from hasbro. Look at how many times they released tobey now and each time hes missing hands.

Awesome review man. The spider thong is what kills it for me. But otherwise it is a solid figure. I think I’ll hold out to see what mafex or hasbro has to offer before I make a purchase.

I never like the ass articulation sh figuarts offers but since this one came out Im oblivious to that fact and now I just compare to marvel legends hip and thigh swivels when you twist them they are not flush to the muscles or torso. Idk maybe its just me.

It's an import figure. Higher quality than Hasbro. Sure $90 for a single is definitely quite expensive. But it's better than lots of marvel legends that have been coming out these past few years.

BOTH of the unmasked heads are HELLA messed up. His forehead is facing left and his face is going right. The mold must have gotten twisted on both of them. His temples/side burns are not even. I get that faces arent symmetrical but there's a total error going on here. Look at the distance between Side burns and eyebrow.

I owned the 2 versions of the super poseable toybiz versions, the one with and without the weird torso and I had to buy this! Proportions may look off, but it is accurate to the movie as Tobey has lost some of his muscle in the last 20 years, but everything else looks amazing. Planning on getting the Andrew Garfield version, but I might hold off until he gets the masked version re-release at some point.

If there's is one comment section on RU-vid that could help me to find this spidey figure from my memory I believe it would be these comments on this channel. Everyone Remembers the 6 inch magnetic Spiderman from spider man 2 the movie toy line right? Well In my childhood I never had that figure the figure I had was essentially the same Magnetic spiderman but in three and three quarter inch scale. No ab crunch on the figure. Single jointed all around. A magnetic Miniature Spiderman from Spiderman 2 I have searched the internet high and low and can find no evidence of the figure I owned ever being produced. Someone please tell me I'm not crazy because I would buy another mini spidey in a heartbeat

Personally, I don’t think it’s worth it. I had just opened my figure and i moved the left arm a little and it snapped. I didnt even use any force. It was made with shitty durability and I am disappointed with SH Figuarts with this one. I have heard a lot of people also had the same problem as well.

THOTS BE GONE69 an incredible figure is the (amazing fantasy spiderman) by marvel legends. It's a single releases, might still be easy to obtain, around 24 bucks, it's been on sale a few times for 19.99. Really one of the best spidey figures

THOTS BE GONE69 if the blue and red are you're must have spidey colors, your best bet would be... animated series cel shaded spiderman. He's a fairly easy to obtain, at the moment. For 24.99 from Walmart. Third party sellers might have it for more.
