He's one of the greatest story tellers of all time. His stories have drama, mystery, sprinkled in steaming piles of bullshit and bombastic lies rolled into an egg roll of total fiction and served with comedy gold. A true legend. ( In his own mind)
Then do a little digging and quickly realize how much of a narcissistic douche bag he really is! There are so many Stories out there now, they’re all pretty good lol he would hit ppl in scenes, he shit his pants, he is an “deity” and had a monk follow and let him know if he could film scenes based on that days karma, is a diva on sets, trash talks EVERYONE, the list goes on 😅
You've got a point there. During his early work he was a legit action hero. Now I'm older, I regard every movie as a comedy. While at the same time he turned into a parody of himself. I doubt that's deliberate, but it's indeed entertaining nonetheless.
The hate comes from the fact that he is, as OMNI-1/137 rightly points out, a narcissistic douche bag. I have never heard anyone who has worked closely with him say anything nice about him. He is verbally abusive to men, verbally and physically abusive to women - even his own wives - and is basically a walking bell-end. Some time ago, he began to believe his own press, and even if Aikido weren't the least threatening martial art out there, he is 70 years old and so far past his prime that he can't even see there from here and yet struts (waddles) around like he's King Shit. World champion narcissistic douche bag. You are correct though that he is quite entertaining -- I never get tired of laughing at him.
He's still dangerous alright, I heard he put a local pizza shop run by a karate black belt Italian out of business singlehandedly, the owner made a couple of smart ass swipes at Seagal, and he punished him as best he could when he took full advantage of their "All you can eat" nights and bankrupted him by eating over 76 pizzas in 3 consecutive nights.
Belarkor if you are the bravest man.......... try to tell him in his face and you gonna be waking up in a hospital bed 🛏............ Steven is a real legend
Generally, when making fun of someone, it's a good idea to know the difference between "losing", and "loosing". Seagal is a clown, there's no doubt, but when you don't know which means "not winning", and which is a bastardized version of "not tight", you should probably sit out the insult round.
Chris Lee hahahahhh true! But let's be fair, the Colonel does make some tasty chicken! Looks like those cans of spray-on hair and tan also put a beating on this clown
He's referring to Anderson Silva and Lyoto Machida. Seagal spent maybe 2 hrs showing them a few Akido moves( moves that would never work in the UFC)and for months after that he was telling the press he was their full time trainers.
I love Steven Segal b/c he's played every race of men in all of his movies. He was a Asian Man in Marked for Death. Native American in Under Siege 2. A White Man in everything else, Then a Black Man in Exit Wounds lmao
@@twentytwo138 Yes, I've always likes PM. He is very reasonable, logical, honest, and sincere. I don't get the hate against him. I think Americans aren't used to someone telling them the truth, even if they don't want to hear it.
A friend of mine who is a bodyguard told me he worked for Seagal twice. Last time was back in 2010, a jerk jumped off the security rubbon and tried to sucker punch him in the neck, as the bodyguards were too far ahead he had like 2 seconds to react, and he did. He swept the guy like it was a sugar sculpture and gently asked him to take his meds. My bodyguard friend is a former 2 times kickboxing champion and he said he still would fear to fight against him.
he is such a sad guy, every time anderson silva goes out to fight he has to step in to steal some camera time, i wont deny his shooting skills, i saw him on the show. amazing!
Have to agree. Also sad just how much he let himself go. I was watching one of his early documentaries from Japan from his studio in Osaka. Man, he was one amazing and talented fighter back then. He's kind of let himself turn into a dangerous version of Gerard Depardieu. Shape up Segal Sensai.
***** Yea..cmon most of these Internet comments are from the new meathead UFC martial artist who use steroids and wreck their bodies. I would like to see how tough they are when they are Seagals age-
Changes your brain chemistry...unless you just want to be a fighter 100% and need the edge I would advise no lol....Try thinking straight and being healthy with synthetic hormones in your blood its impossible and it can leave you brain damaged
The people who actually believe this guy is dangerous are the same people who believe WWE is real. I would choose ANY blue belt in bjj over this guy in a real fight.
@@thechamp7513 Ive done bjj too coming from a wrestling background. NO bjj guy and I mean NONE ever managed to take me down from a standing position on our feet..ever. I accept if we started rolling in a guard or whatever they may have an edge. But bjj take-downs are weak and if a fighter has good take down defence bjj is really not very useful in a street fight.
@@sujitsharma4346 A wrestler should 8/10 beat a pure bjj guy in a fight but does that mean that BJJ is not effective? No it doesn't. BJJ still beats every striking art. What you also need to take into consideration is the fact that on the street a wrestler might not know if a guy practises bjj. This could lead to a takedown and a wrestler would be in serious trouble from the full guard position.
People don't give seagal enough credit. He is probably the best aikido practitioner alive and his knowledge outside of aikido is vast. And to the person who said that he taught the front kick which is the first kick in every martial art, to them I say that the application of the technique is what he taught. Many people teach the same techniques but weather they can teach and apply them correctly or not defines them as a martial artist and sensei.
Great interview & yes master sensei seagal is 100% Legit martial arts master! I myself am a high level black belt in several disciplines, & a master sensei,so I have alot of respect for him & he's devoted his life to the practice of martial arts & has accomplished a great deal
People say a lot of bad things about him, about ego and all that stuff but this is a noble endeavor, people having the means to make their own movies outside of Hollywood.
you guys talking about how dangerous he is or not. but aikido is to use not against people but use it to defend yourself from other people!! not attack them!! aikido uses someone elses punch forse against him.
Joong So Min i don't care what works against a drunk homeless person, sorry, I care what works against trained attackers. if you get attacked by a real fighter, be it in the ring, cage or street, what works best isn't "self-defense" techniques from aikido or krav maga, it's actual fighting technique
Joong So Min Pure aikido takes time, but it does work. But most of those guys are blending it with jiu-jitsu and that's why they're so dangerous. He's not doing pure aiki anymore.
I am no trained fighter, I am no expert on anything. Steven Seagal may be an egotistical portly actor. However, I will not claim that he is "talentless". Dude is 6'4, he is a heavy framed man and he does know his shit. Do not defy the laws of physics because I guarantee he can still hand some ass. Lots of respect for what he has done in the film industry and in his martial arts background. I'd love to meet the guy someday.
@@nesking3115 They are probably the best representives though. If you are doing good in an MMA then you'd probably do very well in a real fight. Aikido, not so much.
+sina ahmadi I'd agree if he wasn't such a jerk. All the women that said he sexually assaulted them, his assistants that sued him because he forced them to have sex with him, the stuntmen that would have to take his abuse because he was the boss.
I love how he's convinced himself that Anderson Silva's victory over Vitor Belfort is because of his teachings. That gym footage looks like they're just messing around with a mascot and being goofs. Not real training.
Lots of Seagal hate here, people commenting on his weight... they don't seem to get the concept that he's old now and enjoying his life, he's no longer intensively training himself or competing at a professional level. He's basically doing what he wants. This stage in his life shouldn't be compared with his youth and young adult life, when he could have potentially beaten anyone It's just impossible to know though as it was a different era. I think he'd have given anyone from his era a run for their money.
TheChosen2030 no I have respect for all martial arts. Not like you who probably has never trained and is a troll. You such a bad ass go tell rogue warrior channel on RU-vid that his aikido is useless. I bet you never would say anything to Steven Segal face or any other martial arts masters!!!!!
makaveli thedon you shut f---k up!!!! You probably have never trained in martial arts. I have trained goshin jujitsu for several years. I bet you never would say anything to Steven Segal face in public or to me!!!!!
aikido is super effective thats why every ufc champ is an aikido master...oh wait no they arent....seagal gets out of breath from doing interviews he would gas immediately in a fight...also dont forgot he was found guilty of beating his wife...case closed....stil loved under siege 1 tho!
lol good post, yea I cannot stand the asshole but I did like above the law which really got me thinking about learning traditional martial arts. I bought a book on Aikido, used it to throw around my friends, even my later Kick Boxing instructor and later used it to break holds while Grappling, so was not a total waste.
SlayerofFiction Agreed. Joint locks will work in certain situations. But if you try to brab a guy's arm and try something, you'll probably get punched in the head.....LOL My instructor and class, we train in Hapkido which is pretty much the same, but nothing we do is pretty. We try to apply joint locks in a real life situations and train for real attackers. TRAIN HARD.....WIN EASY!!!
Joseph Meko It is honestly How I learned grappling, actually most things I can watch or read and do. Anyhow I competed using what I had mostly learned reading. To be fair at a few points here and there I did learn formally but not to the extent which I learned simply from reading. Everyones different.
