Is Sync Licensing Just A Big Scam?

Hello Jesse! I have experienced all those disappointments! I got my music accepted into 2 music libraries that you suggested from Sync Edge and so far, nothing has been licensed. I took a break from it all, it's been about three years since I have submitted any music. I need to take a hard look at it again to see if I want to try to get back into it, I really love the process of writing, creating & producing music but I need to see some king of result as far as getting at least 1 track licensed to TV, film, etc. Getting my music accepted into a library definitely felt like progress but it kind of stalled there. Thanks again for your honest insight in this business.

Yes it is also disappointing to work work work and fine tune your production submit and never hear anything. I know it's not their job to say anything. It's just disappointing to not hear anything back. Whether I suck or I'm good or what lol. Makes you wonder 🤔 is this for me or not. Love love love the art of Making music will never stop doing this the thrill and excitement from it is like nothing else. The business part could be more better and transparent

I did tried a few places. My music is already being used on different platforms. I stopped trying sending off to other libraries. I'm doing my own thing. I don't need anybodies help to be placed. It already is being placed.

What I find very confusing and broderline "scammy" is the match between websites like Tunesat, PRO statements and library licensing reports. I guess they all arrive at different times but when I see a track popping up in Tunesat but not in my PRO statement it's very frustrating. It does feel that sometimes your music is out in the wind and you hope for the best..

To it unfortunately does seem this way ... this is unfortunate because there is legit ones out there. Ones claim they are this or that and asking for money and never hear back or they it's good and never hear anything. Makes me wonder if this is truthful. Unfortunately I gives a bad taste.

I'm nearly 61. I think this might be a waste of time for me. 4 to 5 years to see money? If I was younger then it might be worth it but at my stage I think the time required is too long. 2 years I could run with but longer is a bit too long.

Very new to all this. I can't play socially anymore 'cos I've got a health thing going on. I just need a musical goal, even if I don't achieve anything at all, I want to feel I've got a reason to write music. Is that naive?
