what she said was funny. 😂😂😂 “the scatpac is trying to impress you but I (the hellcat redeye) don’t need to impress you you’re already impressed” 😂 i like her
I have a '19 Scat Pack and I don't agree with her assessment it tries to impress you because it, too doesn't have too either. 485 horses, though 312 less than the Redeye isn't anything to play with. I'ts just hyper. The first three gears are low, the trans shifts real quick and if you go deep into the throttle, the engine will rev to 5-6000 instantly.
I purchased a 2019 widebody scatpack about a month ago. Drove it for 2 weeks. Everyone under the sun wanted to race. They would pull next to us reving thier engines trying to race. Well that got old quick. I had the dealership locate me a Redeye widebody scatpack. Having Drive both cars. You can feel the difference like night and day. I am happy with our decision to pay the diffrence in price to have a more powerful fun car to drive. Scatpack was awesome but the Redeye can just do so much more.
People always complain about the visibility, if you want it get use to it y’all say the same thing about the camaro and mustang but anyway that redeye a beast
I don't really have a problem with the $90,000 dollar price tag. You can spend $90,000 and get a challenger hellcat or you can spend 250,000-$1,000,000+ to get an exotic hyper car that makes the same horsepower. This car isn't cheap, but you are getting a better value for your dollar then you would if you were buying an exotic. This car is probably the best value for your dollar next to the 2018 LFP Mustang which is about 42,000 which is basically a supercharged base Mustang GT. If you really care about the price tag, there are second hand Hellcats retailing for around 50-65K on Autotrader and Car-Gurus. Dodge makes the best value for your dollar period.
I’m mad at the fact that she did not hit it 1 time, she was scared to get on it, get somebody reviewing muscle cars who aint scared of them man!...good review tho
I like her driving attitude. I was a professional performance driver at Chrysler and sure dig her thoughts. I perfer manual cause its always a advantage for me against other Manual drivers.
True. Not a widebody-body.There are metal support brackets under the flares. You could say it’s a widebody based on the spacing of the wheels left to right...
sure are a lot of people who dont like manual. manual is easily the most fun iv ever had driving a car. your actually engaged in the driving and not just blankly staring ahead. my guess is theyve either never driven manual or just suck at it because they never practiced
So if the difference in HP between the Demon and the Red Eye comes down to the hood then, change the hood from the Red Eye to a Demon style hood get it made out of fiberglass and save weight and you have a lighter car with the same HP as the Demon.
I have a 2015 Challenger SRT ... took out the air filter... put in a KN air filter... I ❤️ my SRT... only one ticket...meh ... my fault... I ❤️ the Demon ... looks awesome... typical dodge... blind sports.... no Camaro cabs are small... my friend has a camaro ... she was amazed as to the room in my Challenger
Looking forward to the road test of the 2021 Dodge Challenger SRT Hellcat Demon Redeye Stingerbee T/A Copperhead Ghost Daytona Stryker Edition. It'll be "all new"!
you were wrong twice. 1-the demon has 840 hp, not 808. 2-the hellcat starts at 67-70k, not 50k. not really that bad of mistakes but still VERY misleading
Great job Elena, I like that you state that this isn't a responsible choice. By all means be super nerdy always it's great. I have no aspirations of ever owning an American car yet I watched this entire review.
Redeye Has more HP but less Torque than the ZR1? ZR1 is faster 0-60, potentially faster in the quarter mile? But the ZF transmissions are way beyond GMs. I would love to see a ZF swap into the corvettes.
Why get a narrow bodied hellcat ? Because the widebody will probably fall off after 1 cold winter or 1 hot summer. I followed the band wagon with my jeep srt and it was a financial mistake. More electrical things just stop working , bushings go bad , check engine lights. 90 grand for this? Id definitely spend that coin somewhere else.
I hate that everyone says the interior isn't why you buy this car... why is that even an excuse? This interior looks like a 20 year old minivan. Its HORRENDOUS and that double snorkel is horrendous as well. Shame.
Beautiful car, but why do manufacturers feel it necessary to keep adding tough-sounding names to their vehicles? "Dodge Challenger Hellcat Redeye" !? Come on, call it a Dodge Challenger, and you can get all these extras if you wish. There's no need to put four names on the thing.
THANKS MOMMY FOR TELLING US THAT NO ONE NEEDS A 800hp CAR, OH AND BTW, IF YOUR GOING TO REVIEW A CAR DO MORE RESEARCH, A BLACK VALVE COVER AND DIFFERENT BADGE ON THE SP WONT GET YOU THE EXTRA 90hp BUT, A 2.7L SUPER CHARGER ON THE REDEYE VS THE 2.4L ON THE REGULAR HELLCAT WILL!
Great review of this awesome car, I really want to buy it unfortunately in my country the dealers of dodge no sale Challenger :'(, great video!!!!! Greetings from Bolivia
It will cost more than $100,000 to drive off the lot. Too much for an American car that doesn't stand out. You have too look at the badges to know it's different than any other Challenger.
$90k, I like the car But you can buy a Mint Ferrari F430, Twin Turbo Porsche or Gallardo for $90k..May only go Mid to low 11's & Porsche goes 10's But what the Car brings to the table is incredible..I have the Porsche & just sold LS Package Corvette because I Never drove the car Aft I got the Turbo Porsche(Both 6spds)..Id get a used Red Eye because its the Same Car as a Demon for Alot less If I was gona get Challenger....
@@roberthuxen3461 ha,ha,ha- I've owned over 30 Mopars, from cool muscle cars, a Travco 320, military Power Wagon, station wagon, cop car, a custom-ordered Canadian 300 coupe, a TC Convertible (triple black, daughters love it), and dozens of more mundane offerings. The "Real" ones- made by an American-owned company. Not a brand owned by the Germans or Italians- soon to be Franco-Italian. I can't wait to hear the "Fawning of the fanboys" about Mopar offerings when Citroen & Peugeot start rebadging their cars & putting them on dealer lots. Tavares? Look up what he & Ghosn were famous for at Renualt/Nissan...now he is basically the chief strategist for PSA/FCA...that's Mopar? Funny how Chrysler is just a side note, lol. Like "Most American brand" Jeep. All FIATs, a MB chassis and the Wrangler. Cars? Dart? 200? Any of the other losers? FIAT "Imported from Detroit." 300? Dead in the water. Charger/Challenger? Re-vamped Benz from the '90's. Ram trucks? All FIAT but the pick ups. "Ricambi Originale" sure is fun to see on the part boxes, huh?
probably like a tenth of a second faster to 60 lol honestly the hellcat doesn't need more horsepower it needs awd haha but I kind of like it rear wheel drive and bit floppy
The only difference between the HC engine and the HC red eyes engine is the colour of the valve covers and badge on the SC'r??...really?....I think you better research that because the only thing the two got in common in the 6.2 liters other than that they couldn't be more different.
I have a REDEYE on order. How come my dealer never offered me the Dual Stripe Package??????? I ordered the car a month ago and am in D Status. Would they add the stripes if I called them or is it too late now??????????????????????
SRT seats are very comfortable, she doesn't like them because she's so small and does not fit them well. I'm an average size guy and the seats in my Challenger are very nice and I like them a lot. Actually they are one of the highlights of SRT interior but she was right about one thing concerning the seats, they're not just race or luxury but are perfectly in between
I have a '19 Scat Pack and these seats are amazing. Way nicer than my '09 300. I couldn't find a comfortable seating position in the 300 and was always changing it, but once I found one in the Scat, I set it and left it alone.
@BKD Vickers Who cares about a super modded Jeep. And a funny car slaughters the Jeep. What matters is a **stock** Challenger is slower than a **stock** Tesla. Challenger for the lose!
@BKD Vickers The stats I'm finding is a stock Jeep Trackhawk has a 0-60 time of 3.5 secs which is damn quick but a Tesla Roadster's 0-60 is 1.9 - hard to beat that 100% torque at 0 RPM. "Can be bought" doesn't mean stock. *Stock* means it came from the factory and was bought off a showroom floor and runs on pump gas, not sent to some aftermarket shop to be modified. The Hennessy Trackhawk not only isn't a stock vehicle, it needs 109 octane fuel to run - which isn't available at any gas station I've ever seen. And it's still slower than a Tesla Roadster. *"...They are just more fun without using them for racing...."* - This I don't disagree with. I'd rather have a pristine 454 C3 Vette or Hemi Cuda than any electric car.
Absolutely great review! Short, concise, and to the point! Is it worth $10,000 more for those few ponies? If I'm seriously looking at one to purchase, well what's $10,000 more? And, it has a chiller!!!
I love Elana Scherr's review: It answered all my questions, and gave me MORE info that I new I needed (gotta love specs) , but she did it WITH OUT putting me to sleep. Looking forward to more of her reviews.
Actually it’s the way they tuned them. The hellcat Redeye also has a higher top speed. Whereas the demon is more of a drag car. It has a much faster 0-60 and a much faster quarter mile time.
Elana - Best Edmunds review I’ve seen. Funny, to the point, and just enough technicals. I look forward to seeing you grow and shape Edmunds for the better.
Odd choice of reviewer, since I would bet the gender split on Hellcats is at least 90/10 male. Would've liked to have seen more WOT moments. Funny the reviewers who are excessively positive just because it's a female reviewer.
Pirate Spitter Just the current political climate, if they had the typical male reviewer the one sjw who isn’t even interested in the video would be flaming it and get somebody sued
Actually. Because the target market is primarily male, using a woman to review it is a very good choice. Men are more likely to stick around vs. a man spitting facts about the same car.
Get Carlos back on a Challenger road trip! One of my all-time fave reviews on the Challenger - ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-tRzK2SoJS9M.html
Soooo. I’m speaking on behalf of a “friend” 😝 But “he” has a 2017 hellcat charger, with a piggy back flash that produces more Hp and Torque then the “Red eye”. 😊✌️
While I believe every true American loves the idea of driving an iconic car like the Challenger with these truly high horsepower ratings, the reality is something very different. Most Americans can barely handle a vehicle with have that much power. I'm guessing that the whole focus of Dodge in producing these power-beasts is to promote sales to those few folks who want to do track time in addition to whatever passes for daily driving. I could be wrong in my assessment. Now, that said... would I want to own a Red Eye or Hellcat? Oh, hell yeah! But, then I'm an old guy who would reliving the glory days of muscle-car mania of the late 60's up to 1970!
