Jr. Samples BR549: I agree, I bought one myself. though I do wish it had features the xlt comes with. you can get them as an option on the stx, but there standard on the xlt. if they made an xlt with the gtx grill it'd be the perfect truck.
I have a 2017, 2.7 STX in Lighting Blue, 4x4 with just about all the options you could get for that trim, FX4, carpet, XM, back-up camera, etc... The MSRP was just over $43, and I paid just under $36 OTD. It's 2 years old this month with 16,000 miles and so far no problems. I have spent another $8,000 in modifications and everybody loves my truck. Definitely one of the best looking trucks on the road (especially with all the mods). Thought about trading it in after 2 years, but no way. I have a leveling kit and 305/55/R20s and still get about 20 - 21 mpg's on the hwy. It's a keeper for sure! STX is a pretty good bang for the buck. My only negative is that I miss that V-8 sound.
Thats a great option for someone on a budget. Funny thing about those rubber floors is I paid more for the xlt with carpet and then paid another $200 for Husky rubber floor mats.
My 2019 STX has the 3.5 L eco boost 375 hp 475 ft pounds of torque and it’s a 4x4 …. Pulls my boat and RV together with no problems at all … absolutely amazing truck 👍👍🏆
L S Work truck? This thing is 40k with 8 inch touch screen monitor, nice sport cloth interior ac vents for back seats and tinted glass. A work truck would have none of that. If you can buy a 40 grand stx as a work truck you sir are either stupid as fk or wipe your ass with 100 dollar bills
I have the '17 STX (2.7 4x4) in black. Looks badass and still get admiring looks and compliments on it. Many don't realize the STX has more stuff than the base XLT (not knocking the XLT at all). This truck is for someone who can finally get into a new truck but can't/won't spend $50K+ on higher trims. I think mine was less than $35K. Love it then, now and when I trade it back in for another truck, glad knowing that the guy buying it used is going to get an awesome truck.

The parking spaces in the UK are even smaller than Tampa airport parking which is one reason Ford does not sell the 150 here.Noticed the audio quality when you were driving was much lower.Different mic?.Great video as always
Bought a new one last year a 2018, with an actual center console, 4x4 fx4, plugs for your laptops and sprayed bedliner for about 33k after TTL. I have to agree that its the best value at this price point.
I have a 2018 STX 2.7 and think it's definitely the best bang for you buck. It had all the must have for me. The one must have that my STX has that this one doesnt is the center console. My shifter is still on the column but I still do have the center console that is not foldable so it is always down with a huge lockable cubby in it with 2 cup holders and a storage area where the higher trims have their center console shifter. So again, the STX has ALL my must haves. 8 inch touch screen, all 4 power windows, and the center console. Of course I would have liked some of the other options but my price range didnt allow it so the STX was more than perfect for me. And not to mention the 2.7 EcoBoost is an absolute beast of small displacmeme engine. Those twin turbos work very well and the engine block made of the CGI gives you that comfort and confidence that it will last and is strong enough for any type of upgrades or tuning you may do in the future.
The body colored bumpers with the body colored grill lip, with the gloss black grill is beautiful. I personally would prefer black rims but I'm not too picky. This more then capable work horse is the best value as far as American pickups. Another fantastic video.
Not a bad deal at all,, I'm looking to get into a new stx 4x4 after I get back into work and off workers comp. Having my accident has allowed me to learn that sometimes life is unexpected and it's ok to enjoy the fruit of ones labor in a disciplined manner. Coming from a 06 ranger sport, looking forward to that f150!! 😁

Absolutely gorgeous truck and a absolute joy to drive,the view from all angles driving one of these is outstanding! Never considered a Ford till now. Super comfortable ride and easy truck to handle.
Just a couple of corrections. The STX is available with the enormous center console storage option instead of the 3rd seat (I chose that option last month). You can also get the carpeted floors and an integrated tailgate step as an option in the STX trim. Mine came with the console, tailgate step, integrated brake controller, 4 wheel drive, and a 40K out the door price tag (and the salesman threw in carpeted floor mats, though they don't stay in place with the vinyl floor covering).

I have a 2019 STX, and I love it! I bought mine used with 25000 miles on it. Mine is sort of unique as it has carpet and it has a locking rear diff. I also installed a center console and put in a bed liner and I also installed a leather wrapped steering wheel. I am so happy with how it turned out, and I plan on lifting it and putting on new headlights and taillights.
The center console, carpet, and any engine of your choosing, are optional. I bought this truck and mine had carpet, center console with column shifter (i wanted it that way), and the 3.5L ecoboost. Prior to anyone coming to buy the truck, the dealership had already added F-150 specific weather tech styled rubber mats in addition to the standard carpet floor mats, wheel well covers, a spray-in bed liner, tinted windows and the 36 gallon fuel tank for extended range. Those ended up being pleasant surprises to me and I love it. Word of advice: if you are a lead foot, the 3.5L ecoboost guzzles gas the same as a V8. Bayou Ford in LaPlace, Louisiana.
Odd my 2018 STX has a center console and tow package. That was standard. The running boards were not standard. I wish he would've showed you the different driving modes. It has normal, eco, sport & what not. It really like the truck, I would recommend it to anyone.
I just bought this truck about 3 weeks ago. Same velocity blue color...however my STX does have the center console not the seat flip down thing...also mine does have carpet...so I bought Weather-Tech mats. So I guess there is a slight variation to the STX packages.
I got mine last month in gray. Center console, 4WD, towing package (w/brake controller), and tailgate step. Mine has rubber floor, but the dealer threw in carpeted mats. They just slide around, so Weather-Tech is in our future.
This truck starts around $10,000 less than XLT. You can add some features to it if you want but still a great value. October and November also great for rebates too!
I still love my 2013 4x4 Supercrew with the 3.5L ecocboost....that said, I’m glad I got the extended warranty as it’s in the shop getting a new transfer case and rear differential (and yes I did the service on those components at 30k). But I’d buy another one ... might be electric by then.
Bought a 2018 STX SC 4x4 with the front console, carpeted seats, and dealer installer sprayed in bedliner, and step bars for 38,000$ Guess I didn't do too bad.
There are some comforts that you can get. Carpeting $145. Console is like $295. All gas engine choices are available. I think there is storage under the middle seat base. LOL I had a 2015 F150 SuperCrew and I never even opened the rear sliding window. And the $40K you keep mentioning is MSRP. I see them on sale all the time. It comes with the 5.5 bed but the 6.5 bed is optional.
I like a simple truck with a V8 and a 4X4 option. I don’t like any of the fancy electronics. All the new cars and trucks are way overpriced. Great review Joe
Had a14' crew cab STX (last of the steel bodies) 5.0 4x4, absolutely loved it! Upgraded to a17 with the 10 speed 3.5 eco.... Still kinda miss my STX. New truck has better trim and more functionality but for the money.....
I have a 2019 stx 4x4 crew cab! Absolutely love it!! Mine has the center console. Oddly enough it has carpet and ford branded deep plastic floor mats. The value is through the roof.
I'm glad I came across this video...enjoyed watching it. I purchased a 2018 STX a few months ago. The truck is awesome. BUT...I'd love to know how they come up with the mpg data. There's no way I'd ever get 20 / 26 mpg no matter how much I baby the gas pedal. The real #'s are more like 17 / 21.
Wish these full size trucks could fit in my garage length wise. That's what holds me back. I currently have a mint low mileage 2003 f150 regular cab flareside shortbox. Now that has no problem fitting ìn my garage.
I just bought the 2020 model and loving it!!!! I traded in my 2016 Nissian for it as I am a tall guy and needed something with more room. This is the first thing I ever owned where I had to actually scoot the seat up lol. I am 6.6 tall. I love it!!!!
My work truck (not mine) is a ‘17 F250 XL with the 6.2. Other than I would want power locks and windows, that truck is perfect having real truck floors, no carpet and an 8’ bed. Put a usable bed on this STX and it would even keep the Mrs. happy with my choice of vehicles.
So yesterday We bought a 2017 expedition platinum to pull our 21 ft Yamaha. We decided it was too big for the wife and returned it and left the dealership with this model with carpet, bed liner, and mounted hitch. I was surprised it tows more than the expedition which had a 3.5 eco boost turbo. Do miss the features of the expedition but feel it’s worth the switch

I like the Ford F-250. It has reasonable prices with reasonable options and packages. I'm not buying a full size truck without a V-8. I'm going F-150 over a Ranger any day of the week! You can permanently defeat the Start Stop feature in many vehicles including all GM trucks. I do not like the Eco-boost motors at all! I work on vehicles for a living and I hate them. Those smaller motors are going to wear out faster no matter how you look at it.
I’ve got a 22 stx extended cab 4x4 with the 2.7 ecoboost and I love it. Drives great with plenty of options like Apple CarPlay, auto dimming lights, remote start with FordPass app, lane assist, parking sensors, and blind spot detection in the mirrors. I had a 19 ranger FX4 4x4 xlt. The stx is a better truck. The Ranger is under powered.
Will def get the bed liner to prevent all the scruffs and scratches from the work materials and tools damaging the bed. Has more power than the ranger and larger interior as well. Useful as a daily workhorse and when you have a fancy car that you drive only on weekends andon the road course.
I'm torn between this package (with 4wd) and an XLT. I'm guessing that both aren't too far apart in price. Btw, I'm also wondering if trucks are so popular now because you can configure them any way you want. Bench seat? Got it. Vinyl floor? Got it. High end leather with heat and cooled seats? Got it. I believe you can still get crank windows on the base model. You can build these things as much as you want. You used to be able to do that with all cars, but no more. Also, the spray on bedliner should be standard. It's a $500 option. Just roll it into the MSRP. I don't know anyone with a bare bed anymore, unless it's a true WT. My must haves for this truck are the bed liner, SYNC 3, 4wd, and the 36 gallon fuel tank. I like the idea of going over 700 miles on a tank lol. (sorry Joe for the double comment. I forget which ones I watch lol)
Radford Tataryn you’re wrong, I never drive mine in sport and it doesn’t feel any slower. And it never feels sluggish, when I hook my brothers boat up to it, it feels great when you step on it.
I have a LF gray 2018 STX with the 2.7. It really is a bang for your buck!!! It’s a really neat package and with just the right amount of bells and whistles (premium wheels, backup camera, sync 3 with CarPlay/android auto, center console) while maintaining the beautiful basics (rubber floors, storage). I kind of wish they could include power seats on this package but definitely no big deal!!! Very happy with my purchase and plan to drive this thing till either the truck or me perishes!!!!
I have a 2018 stx and it’s been a great truck 37,000 + miles. 2.7 two wheel drive and I been getting 22.5 mpg average. I’m ready to go on a road trip to see what it gets
for extra 150.00 you get full carpet and floor mats, For 250.00 you can also get full center console, if you were any kind of a sales person you would already know that.
Pretty sure you can get the center console in the STX, it's just an option or something. At least I've seen a few videos on the STX with the center console.

Yes! This truck is killer for the price with all the equipment and sport appearance treatments. The wheels are perfect, fir how I would want them, the mirrors are fine as they are, though body color would be better. Like the Sport trim Honda Civics I mentioned, this has all the good stuff for a good price point, and not anything that would be nice, but I don't really need. I would prefer the V8 for durability, reliability, and longevity, but, the is the performance EcoBoost, the same one I believe in the Police Explorer based SUV and the Sport and ST models you previously reviewed. My favorite color and looks great on this truck. The front fascia and exterior bits are fine. No OEM bedliner, but hey, you usually would expect to pay extra for that and a solid locking tonneau cover, and such when getting a truck. Usually, the trucks now that have it are the fully loaded top trim models. The door panels are hard, but it's easy to clean, and purposeful as a truck, albeit, a nice one. What I don't get is you saying there is no. Enter storage when you showed that there is under the front center seat bottom. Also, on the interior portion of the video, the audio was switching back and forth a few times. I like the plain floor mats like the police vehicles. You can put carpet mats if you want, but I would just put Weathertech mats to make all that easy to lift out and dispose of. Everything else us perfect for it's well planned layout. Oh, yeah, the auto shut off feature that adds wear and tear on the engine. And after market company www.autostopeliminator.com has a solution, with 3 different switch configurations, depending what the trick is equipped with, all 3 models are just $99.99. How cool is that? That, floor mats, seat covers, bed liner, lockingbhard cover, nice black metal license plate frames with clear covers, legal smoke window tinting, and I would be set. Great truck and best value if you want all that, instead of a blahs bare bone truck, unless you work heavy construction and going to rough it...
Very true. These trucks are way over priced and very hard for the average working American to purchase. I want to buy American but 40k is ridiculous. I would understand 30k out the door.
I thought the STX had a center console only? Maybe for to 2020? This package truck is definitely the best truck for the guy that can't afford an XLT or Lariat but doesn't have to settle for the basic plain Jane XL work truck. Love this truck!
I own a 2010 F-150 Lariat super crew cab and I paid $16000 and its 5 times nicer than that 40k truck. My thoughts are that Ford is taking this price way too high, that trucks is worth like 21k.
Lol. That 2019 would smoke your 2010 plus the new trucks are much safer than the older generations. Alot of the cost that goes into new trucks has to do with safety standards and costs related to R&D for fuel economy.

I haven't driven the 10 speed yet. I drove one a few years ago with a six speed. Does the 10 speed constantly hunt for a gear? The 2.7 engine is stout. The fastest truck engine I've ever driven. It'll scoot. Definitely a better value then the Ranger.
I can tell you that I just bought a 19 STX Supercab and drove it to NC from Fl. Transmission smooth shifting was making me wonder if it was a 6 or 10 speed. 10 speed great.
My 4 years old Son, wants Me to buy a Blue Truck , because He love Sonic the hedgehog!! But I will buy it, because It will Look Great with some Red Stripes and the American (Left) & Puerto Rico (Right) Flags !!!
Why upgrade to a 5.0? Similar horsepower, the same torque, and better feeling acceleration out of the 2.7. Unless you're towing over 9,000 pounds (but less than 12,000) the 5.0 doesn't offer any real advantage, but mileage is significantly lower. However, I will admit, the 5.0 does sound a lot better.
S/V Doin' It Right 5.0 pulls more and sounds meaner. Gas mileage between 2.7 and 5.0 is not very different. In fact its probably a 1-2mpg difference. Also, 5.0 works better than 2.7 with regular 87 octane which is what most people buy due to gas prices.
@@MrInzombia I don't know what a 5.0 gets for mileage, but I made a 450 mile trip today and my MPG was 25.1. With 7500 miles on the truck now, my average overall is at 20.7 combined. My old 5.0 was lucky to get 15, downhill with stiff wind at your back, but that was several years and a lot of technology ago.
