The STX is the most valuable in my opinion. No extra crap and all the stuff you might want. Doesn't have fancy trim but looks really good on the outside and has the screen.

I bought. 2018 STX supercab with the 2.7. It hit the right spot in terms of price and features for me. I wanted a truck that I could use to haul, as well as it being well enough equipped for a comfortable long trip. The 2.7 is an incredibly capable engine. Also, loved the front grille.

I love this model! The acceleration is not bad plus the gas mileage is much better than I thought as well. Very happy with my F150!

Another sweet review!! Full disclosure, I am a Ford truck owner currently and have owned over 20. My 2017 shares space with my 1954. But every review Car Confections does, I learn new features and design aesthetics on each vehicle. I.e Active trajectory for the backup camera... good stuff !

Had a 2015 2.7. Loved it! Traded for a 2020 f150 2.7. STX. GREAT TRUCK! although mine has the backup sensors 110v gen.box synch 3 with remote start trailer assist tow package etc etc. not sure which package that is but nonetheless the less it’s a great truck!!! Great video guys!

I have a 2018 stx with a V8. I am getting 18.5 mpg with 80% city driving. I have issues with oil consumption but I am happy with it so far

That's extremely impressive. I have a 2017 F-150 XL with a 5.0L V8 - but I only get about 14.2 MPG in the city. I have 17" rims with Goodyear Wrangler AT/S tires. My truck also has a "rake stance" compared to the STX which comes stock with a leveling kit.

@@imasmallfringeminority1988 so far I have used 2.5 quarts in 5000 miles. Ford is doing another oil consumption test. I have to take it in every 500 miles.

The 5.0 V8 post 2018 has issues with oil consumption. Ford will put it a new oil pan, a deeper dipstick, and do a “software” update to try and fix the issue. It won’t fix it. They are going to have to replace the engine, the only reason your truck is burning oil is because ford went cheap on the cylinders and piston rings. I’m sorry you have to deal with this. But don’t let up on the dealership. They are putting a deport dip stick in to make it appear that you have sufficient oil, but you won’t. I wouldn’t let them change out the oil pan personally. Let them do the software update, and when it doesn’t work, make them put a new engine in.

Best trim for the money. Doesn’t have all the fancy stuff that might break but just enough to suffice. If you have the money it’s all good to get a higher trim but I’ll stick my my 19 stx. Black on black. Can’t beat it.

With that stop and start up system do you have to turn it off all the time you turn off the truck ?

there is a device that you can get to turn it off so you dont have to turn it off every time you start the vehicle,if you want to use start stop just turn it back on, Its called the "auto start stop disabler"

Yes. Every single time you start the truck you will have to push the autostop button in order to deactivate. It can become annoying

I have a wife, a 17 year old kid and a 90lbs dog. I am looking to get a pickup truck sometime next year 2020. I have watched your videos to try to see which would fit our needs best. The trouble is most all reviews focus on towing. My situation is a little different. My primary purpose is to haul the family and commute to work daily ( about 60/40 city/freeway) nothing extreme, and only about 50 miles a day round trip). The truck aspect is for the occasional trash haul, or helping someone move, or getting plywood at Home Depot for some project. With all that being said, I want the most comfortable room, best fuel economy, reliability, safety and price. What is your recommendation? Thank you..

ATTENTION FORD FANS: Scotty Kilmer says the 5.0L oil consumption problem is a Ford class defect that Ford won't admit to. All of Ford's work arounds don't address or fix the real problem..... which is that Ford used an aluminum block on these 5.0 engines, and didn't sleeve the cylinders. They used a ceramic coating in these cylinders (to save a few pennies), and this coating is either failing or it isn't working as it's supposed to, thus causing the massive oil consumption problem.

The Supercab is the one that comes with the half doors. This is the Supercrew with the 4 full size doors.

Why when doing auto reviews we see so much video of the passenger/reviewer driving? and less of the total dashboard components their use etc., outside 360 views of vehicle, I really don't need to see the person doing the review at all because it's no use to me.

So this is basically an f150 XLT

There are Some differences between the STX and XLT: 1) The STX Models are actually XL Trim F-150's with the STX Package. 2) You CANNOT get the STX Package with the Base 3.3L NA V6 Engine. You have to choose between the 2.7L Ecoboost V6, The 5.0L Coyote V8, or the 3.5L Ecoboost V6. 3) You also CANNOT get the STX Package in the Regular Cab Option. You must get either the Supercab or Supercrew, the latter of which I highly recommend. 4) You get the SYNC 3 System, but cannot have Built-In Navigation. You must step-up to the XLT Model for Built-In Navigation, though I believe you can use Android Auto or Apple Carplay as a workaround to this. 5) The Gear Lever is not in the Center Console, but on the side of the Steering Wheel (Which I prefer IMO) 6) The F-150 STX Is affordable, going from anywhere between $32,500+ for a RWD model and $37,500+ for a 4X4 Model ($40,000+ for a Model with the FX4 Package) If there's any other features I've missed, they're likely mentioned in the video. With all the extra stuff that can/will break later on. Leather wheel will start going bad, powered motors in the seats will go out, along with here's seats and rear glass door will malfunction. 🤷‍♂️ I hate all this extra stuff in new trucks. I'll save all that money for some used Katskin, a nice wheel/tire/level kit and some led headlights
