I bought the 19' JLU with the 2.0L Turbo and I absolutely love it!! If I keep my foot out of the turbo and try to drive it "Normal" I can easily avg about 22-25 MPG in the city as my DD. Very satisfied with this product so far and I have a little over 8000 mile on it with 6 months of ownership. Off Road it is king, goes everywhere and does it smiling then takes me back home. Good job on the video man!

I did some research on why wranglers are so expensive and I found out it has alot to do with its fanbase.... it hold the highest resale value of any vehicle and sell even before they arrive on dealer lots. I also looked up wranglers on carvana a few days ago and noticed every single used wrangler had a pending sale and almost at entry level price after 5 years!! If u don't believe me look it up.. ppl are always looking for a wrangler also when i bought my rubicon one sales woman told me they NEVER discount wranglers so maybe before hating jeep on the price people should change their views of buying them because fca have ZERO incentive to lower its price. Hope this information helps 🙂 stay safe stay healthy!!

I drove a 2019 Sahara a few weeks ago, had it as a rental and most of my driving was on the highway... got the 22 MPG Jeep promises and half the time I was driving it, I forgot I was NOT driving a V6. Worth the extra $3k. :)
@umerhakim
@umerhakim 5 лет назад
That's the problem with these wranglers, they get flooded in rental fleets. It's embarrassing and ruins brand image. They are literally fleet cars.
@jeepguy95
@jeepguy95 5 лет назад
@@umerhakim Not true. I work for a Jeep dealer and we sell tons of these (we also have an in-house off-road customization shop, and sell these lifted and customized). Only once in awhile do I see a Wrangler that's a rental on the road.
@umerhakim
@umerhakim 5 лет назад
You work at a Dealership. I use to work in remarketing for a big rental car company, and use to order cars straight from FCA. FCA floods these things in rental fleets. Up here in toronto most new wranglers I see on the road are rentals lol. These are fleet specials. Most retail customers dont know that, hence why no one says nothing, and FCA keeps flooding these and most of thier OTHER products. Dealerships in general are clueless, cuz again they are just dealerships. I use to work with major oems directly, and dealers use to buy cars from us. Wranglers are RENTAL SPECIALS lol. Even the used ones that people drive, used to be rentals before. I Mean just search up 2018 wranglers on autoTrader, and most listings are EX-rentals lmao !!!!!
@jeepguy95
@jeepguy95 5 лет назад
@@umerhakim Well that's in Canada. Wranglers are VERY popular here, out of all Jeeps at our dealership (we're also the number one Jeep dealer in our state), we sell Wranglers the most (and Gladiators are catching up... we've probably sold 15 or 20 since they came out earlier this year).
@umerhakim
@umerhakim 5 лет назад
@@jeepguy95 yea wranglers do sell better up there, but even then they still get flooded in rental fleets. I was in LA for a month and saw a lot of rentals driving around lol. Im always pointing out fleetys ( thats what i call rental cars lol) to my gf when we are driving around. Shes like how the hell do u know😂

I see so many reviewers not pointing this out, the manufactures may not like it but for us consumers, it's top priority. Real world reviews must have a "reliability" rating, based on manufacture model history. Without it, you are really leaving out the most important part of a review. You should add it to your rating.

Pentastar Nate fiat doesn’t actually build those. They’re just the parent company. It’s still all Mercian unless specifically noted like the 2.0T. People are getting their diapers in a wad.

I think someone like 5 Star Tuning will have a package out to make the HP rating on this turbo comparable to the 3.0 diesel that's coming soon. Since gas is cheaper than diesel in California I believe I would take this 2.0 turbo over the diesel but I would rather have the proven 3.6 gas with a 6 speed manual.

The worst thing about a jeep is no power. A V8 or V6 Turbo Option would have been the correct direction. Have a 2017 JK and can't stand having to floor it to pass, get on the highway etc...
@quaranjones2359
@quaranjones2359 5 лет назад
SWAT spence you want power or somewhat decent gas mileage. Definitely can’t have both especially sticking a V8 in a wrangler.
@extspence
@extspence 5 лет назад
@@quaranjones2359 Actually if you have AEV install a 5.7L Hemi your gas mileage will go up. The jeep is under powered. Not enough power is just as bad as too much power. The problem with the engine upgrade is the 20k to 30k cost. Jeep should have offered it.

SWAT spence they are a company that equips them to go off road. How would them putting a V8 in a Jeep with more weight and nobby tires going to make it more efficient. The wrangler has the aerodynamics of a refrigerator. Chrysler would have to pay a gas guzzler tax if they put a v8 in the wrangler. Not once in history have they ever put a V8 in a wrangler. If anything I would recommend putting the good old straight 6 back in it. It was a million times more reliable and put out ample power.
@extspence
@extspence 5 лет назад
@@quaranjones2359 There have been a little over 2mil Jeep JKs produced. A lot of them may never hit a trail? They have increased the size of the Jeep, now they have added a pickup for towing. These changes have made Jeeps larger and heavier than they have been in the past. My point from owning one of them is they do not have enough power for what is being asked of them. Jeep TJ 3092 - 3857 lb Jeep JK 3,760 - 4,340 lb Jeep JL 3,955 - 4,455 lb Jeep Gladiator 4,650 - 5,072 lb 5.7L Jeeps get better gas mileage than 3.6L Jeeps. Correct power for the application. Obviously 6.4L swaps add more power than is needed and result in less mileage. It is a balance, right now the current weight is under powered. The straight six is a good power plant, my guess fazed out for EPA reasons. And a V8 may never happen for EPA reasons. Doesn't make the EPA correct.

If the Ford Ranger can tow 7500 lb with a 2.3L bi-turbo, there is no reason why the Gladiator is not offered with the 2.0L turbo and have decent towing capacity.

Yeah at 12000 miles a year and $2.25 gas it would take 6.5 years to pay back the $3000 up charge for the turbo

The v6 version is pretty reliable. They've been using it in a shit load of their vehicles, including the RAM commercial white vans that get a lot of miles put on them.

The Tigershark 4-bangers are actually very reliable, statistically. The tiny turbos seem to do okay too. However, anything Fiat-derived larger than 1.8 with a turbo should be avoided.

I remember when Toyota used to offer the 2.7L 4 cylinder engine on the Toyota Sienna when the 2011 came out. Now I probably know why they eventually stopped putting that engine in the Sienna. Darn thing must be as slow as a 1983 Toyota Tercel.
