@@jackd232Polestar 4 got even better rear back camera then Camaro. My dad got the one in Camaro and we where and test drived Polestar 4 up in north Sweden we drove also on ice lake up there and was amazing. The back rear camera was great even better then rear back window in all cars. Great that Polestar did do this with the car!! Also have a order on the P4 but in all black✔️
Remember that crazy Polestar S40 sedan from 2012, in Cyan Blue, with like 560hp? What an amazing vehicle - and likely much slower than this Polestar 4.
You don’t need a rear window. You THINK you do, because that’s all you know. The rear view camera can see WAY more then you ever could through a rear view mirror. Polestar has videos comparing the rear view camera, vs a rear view mirror and it’s mind blowing
@@sailingandsomejokesI have. I drove the car up in north Sweden. Was a great experience and the back rear camera is way better than any rear back window on any car. Even the rear back camera is as good in the dark also and when it was snowing. Great great experience. Orderd right after I drove the car. P4 All black. Around 600km Range in real life. Was snow storm and -15 when I drove it and the car did around 550km in that condition. In summer or mid conditions the car should for sure get closer to 600km. Great car!!
It's like a headphone jack. When Apple got rid of the jack on their phones, people were saying Apple is ruined. It turned out we didn't need a headphone jack. I think Polestar 4 will sell fine although I wish the sticker price is cheaper. If it was 40000 usd, it would sell a lot quicker.
Joe, you know you never fail to put a smile on my face along with plenty others, giving us these insightful presentations. It’s therapeutic when watching your enthusiastic review’s, the silly commentary; like Jordan being better than Bron 😂..
Funny how $60k in the US and EU but in China the same exact car stars at $30K....taking that into consideration after terrifs, taxes and transportation we add an additional $30K. Not worth it
I'm fairly into cars and I passed a car on the highway the other day which I did not recognize. It didn't have the name on it, just the logo. I searched the interwebs high and low trying to figure out what it was. Finally discovered it was a Polestar. So yeah, their marketing must be practically non-existent.
They Can Destroy Lucid, Tesla, Vinfast, Fisker, And More When Comes To Safety, Comfort, Opulence, Technology, Innovation Remember Polestar Is A Volvo Made In Sweden🇸🇪 And The Best Electric Brand Out There An Idle Replacement For All Other Ev On Sale Today 🇸🇦
@@robissonwillard7266 It's not made in Sweden but it is designed and mostly engineered there. However, this one, and only this one, is based on a Zeekr, the 001.
Nice🇸🇦 Hi Joe, Good To See You With Quite Interesting New Content Every Other Day You Are A Best Guy In Usa 🇺🇸 When I See An Automotive Blogger Whom Everyone Loves To Watch 🇸🇦
Coal and natural gas are relied upon to generate electricity for EV's and the labor conditions used to create the batteries using Cobalt are some of the worst. EV's are actually hazardous to the environment.
I really hope polestar can turn things around and rack up some sales end of 2025 into 2025 I like interior better than tesla . But what bothers me Is not everyone buys Porsche but psny wants to be exotic luxury ..this equals lower sales by volume. Will polestar survive?😅..but I love all these designs 😊
Actually the number means the order the car was produced. Polestar 4 is the 4th Polestar. Polestar 5 will be the 5th and so on. It has nothing to do with the size, price or anything else of the car.
Polestar 4 looks sweet. Holding out til EV in North America have 🔋 swappable options. Maybe 2026? Know Polestar owner company already has a partnership with NIO. Thnx Joe for another awesome video 😎...
The Polestar 4 is a true marvel of design and innovation. Its sleek aesthetics combined with cutting-edge technology redefine the future of electric vehicles. A masterpiece that captivates both the eyes and the imagination! and for the same price as a BMW X2 or X4, and cheaper than a Macan. I want it.
Hopefully the camera while viewing the rear at night is actually working and has night vision or something bc if the rear window is sealed like that how will it all work .. I hope someone reviews this part 🥹🤞
I think for North American markets they will release it as 2025 since it will be released in Q3-Q4. More than half the year will be gone before initial delivery commences.
Polestar is being abandoned by Geely. Volvo is moving so fast towards electrification, that Geely probably regrets bothering to create another brand, and they will like it die quietly. A very nice design, especially the interior which is very elegant.
Wrong. Totally wrong. Neither Volvo nor Geely is moving away from Polestar. Why are you saying this? Also, Polestar is a Swedish brand created in the 1990s. It was not created by Geely. It is an offshoot of Volvo as Polestar is Volvo's sports branch.
@@benjaminsmith2287 Volvo is now aggressively pursuing electrification. Geely owns many brands. Geely owns 50% of Polestar, and the other half is owned by Volvo, which is 75% owned by Geely, so Geely owns 75% of Polestar and is thus completely controlled by Geely. THere are only 30 polestar locations in the USA, and clearly it is a sub-brand that was a waste of money to create. It's very expensive to keep weak sub-brands around, which is why Scion died and why several Stellantis sub-brands are headed for the graveyard.
@@edwarddejong8025 The latest update is Volvo owns about 19 percent of Polestar and sold the remaining sales to Geely Holding But, Volvo is still a part of Polestar cars development, share their safety engineering with them and a lot more. Polestar is a spin-off of Volvo and that's why the cars are so similar. It is too early to say Polestar isn't performing well as they have the usual ups and downs of a young brand (that's not really young as Polestar was started as a racing company in the 1990s and became Volvo's sports tuning and then spun off to its own company). Polestar tried the direct sales route but there are Volvo dealers that service Polestars. They need to expand that. The brand isn't all that weak. And adding the 4, a crossover, and the 3, a larger crossover, will help Polestar's sales and profits. You said both Geely and Volvo aren't supporting Polestar and neither is true. Geely put out a statement they are fully supporting Polestar and Volvo put out a statement saying that they will continue to share and develop cars with Polestar. So Polestar is well backed for now and we'll see how it plays out. Polestar may turn out to be very successful or not. It's too early to call.
One more thing, I am seeing a LOT of new vehicles these days with either WHITE or LIGHT BEIGE interiors. Seats, carpet, dash and doors are these ridiculously light colored materials. Does anyone really want to spend all of their time trying, and failing, to keep these things clean? Especially trucks!! Fuhgeddaboudit.
Took my son to the NYIAS this afternoon…what a disappointment! No Chrysler/Dodge/Jeep products? No BMW? No Mercedes? No manufacturer presence from Audi? Many other disappointments but I don’t have the patience to report. Despite the poor showing my son and I had a great day in NYC complete with burgers from the “Pig and Whistle” followed by genuine NYC pizza from Rose’s in Penn Station! What is your overall opinion of NYIAS 2024 Mr. Raiti?
Great job of unveiling this white Polestar from the New York Auto Show. We just don't have enough people talking about the Polestar and all that it brings.
The reason the PS4 is different in some aspects than the rest of the Polestar family is that it’s a rebadged and slightly modified Zeekr 001, a Chinese EV made by Geely and not tied to Volvo the way that the rest of the Polestars are.
Exactly. However, I'd say Zeekr001 is part Swedish as it is designed there and now more of Zeekr has moved into Sweden now that CEVT has changed to Zeekr Technology.
I does not see this as a chinese car. It is like Apple designed in California, manufactured in china. So engineered in Sweden, manufactured in china and soon also in States!
The rise of utility costs have swiftly debunked the idea that an electric car will save you money. For ever EV sold, an additional 50k is placed on taxpayers.
This is a poor man's Lotus Emeya. I'm surprised you haven't reviewed the Lotus Electra and Emeya. They are getting great reviews. Check out the R editions, they go 0-60 in less than 3 seconds.
@@Oneness100 it was the Eletre Review on “Car Maniac”, which - sorry - is only in German, maybe it’s an Autobahn problem and not so much within more reasonable speed limits 😅 I have to admit I did not watch other in depth reviews of the Eletre since it’s just way too big (long) for me. Also the price is a little bit higher than why I would (could?) pay although I’m definitely looking at premium cars 😉
@@Oneness100 I rechecked what was said in the video and he mentioned “very noisy” at 180km/h (111mph) and above, but already noticeable noise not appropriate for the price at 100km/h (60mph).
@@geraldh.8047 What's interesting is that the same company, Geely, is involved with both Volvo/Polestar and Lotus, along with other brands. The Electre (my autocorrect wants to change it to Electra) that's why I misspelled it originally. I haven't seen these cars in person, but the Emeya is probably closer to the Polestar 4. The Electre is closer to the Polestar 3. As far as wind noise? I'm sure some are more sensitive to noise and what they are comparing to and at what speed.
