Bash box biggest problem is there is a unit out there already EXACTLY like this for cheaper , and you can get it with a SSD 4tb included with 10,000 games preloaded already. SuperConsoleX5 Pro. It’s same hardware and OS with games already. Why would anyone buy the bash box.

Those games look horrible! Honestly, I think Wii Sports Bowling looks better then that bowling game! And associating with Intellivision is a really bad idea.

That Pitfall rip off is beyond tragic. I put better stuff out on Kongregate years ago for free. Why would you show that to anyone? You know those build a platformer game tutorials that take a day. Its worse than that!

Calling himself a former vet? I hope someone fact checked that. I’m very leery when people do that as it often is a way to evade criticism. Also the games actually look WORSE than the Amico games. Especially the Pitfall clone.

@@Getoffmylawn_Gaming we’ve had YEARS now of people trying to profit off the retro community by outright lying about their backgrounds, qualifications, etc. I think that it would make sense to not take anything at face value at this point. And also, as people have said before, basing a console’s viability on the personality of its owner hasn’t worked out before so we shouldn’t go down that path again. Show us an awesome, FINISHED product. Not random backstories and “it’s gonna be so awesome!” Hyperbole.

I do hope it's successful, but the exclusives shown make my games on Steam look good. Without any exclusives you have an Android emulator. There is no incentive for people to purchase a Bash Box when there are more affordable emulation devices out there. Now, I do like the fact he is promoting it as indie friendly. Indie development is not a step down, but a step side ways. There are plenty of successful titles out and I haven't seen even one on a Sweet Baby Inc list.

Old Man Rukus is also a Yankees HOFer? He also have Guinness records? I saw a video with the promised games and looked bad. Even the released Amico games from BBG looked better, and thats a very low bar.

Coming soon… early 2030. Does anyone else remember when Tommy posted a photo of a stack of cardboard boxes in a warehouse, "ready to go"? He didn't mention that it was a shipment of _bonne maman_ strawberry jam they just happened to be shipping out of the Intellivision Amico offices.

At present it seems like Intellivision Entertainment is a whopping three people. Phil Adam who just kinda pokes his head out and waves(writes the emails) to let people know he's still there, John Alvarado who does most of the "Baba-booey! Baba-booey! Here's a watered down version of something that was promised to you four years ago! Baba-booey!" and lastly there's an unnamed coder who is stuck with taking the games Intellivision Entertainment couldn't fund the completion of four years ago, and tries to patch them together with whatever code they can muster.

true, but Evercade is not yet compatible to several modern engines which lots of retro-influenced games are created on. Those games from Bash games, despite being weak amateurish titles, would not be compatible.

It’s almost like an April Fool joke at this point. Those games look horrendous! I couldn’t believe he used the old line “you need to play it” when people criticise how bad these games look. Maybe that line would work on an aborigine in some remote tribe somewhere, they must think people where born yesterday. This thing has ZERO chance of selling double figures. It’s really odd.

It is interesting to also note what John Alvarado said in response on the Facebook page. To summarize he said "when we get the controllers working with android os, the controllers Will work with bashbox" that's pretty telling and maybe a slip up by Alvarado considering they are supposed to be shipping before Christmas!

@@ccricers Bash Box doesn't AFAIK, and likely has no intention to. I'm referring to the fact that in any partnership with IE that the Amico physical media should work easily on it.

@@ccricers Just for the record, I found no info of the Shield being RFID enabled (out of the box), which is what powers the Amico physical media. If someone knows for sure, yay or nay, please chime in. At any rate, the RFID enabled Bash Box should be a delight for Retro Gamers and collectors with the Amico physical media.

@@PuzZLeR_00 RFID support is pretty trivial to add. MiSTer has been doing it for almost a year. You can do it with an external device or your phone. And it's all open source.

It seems like it may be legit. But it seems like this guy doesn't know how to promote his product or manage it. But in all honesty I don't see any value in getting this at all. This guys incompetence on advertising and managing this system isn't helping his cause.

This is definitely Ouya 3.0 (whether they like to admit it or not, Amico was the Ouya 2). An android box full of cheaply developed unity engine games that would look at home on any indie website from 2013. Except in 2013 they would be free downloads. Undoubtedly a nothing burger that if it makes it to market, it will be a massive flop. But these things are also entertaining as hell to keep up with, here's hoping for at least a few months of weird shenanigans to laugh at from Bash Box.

I wouldn't say this is a scam like the Amico has proven to be. This is more like a second attempt at the Ouya - which was _not_ a scam. Ouya was real hardware, real software, actually existed, had games. I bought an Ouya. I enjoyed the Ouya. If the Bash Box is like Ouya, it won't be a scam.

Despite the "low sales", it's growing. Growth is much more profitable within your market: good markup, and repeat sales are less costly to obtain. This is far better than initial "good sales" with a lower price that will get you nowhere.
