I got mine 6 weeks ago, on Amzn, for £399. Only downside could be when the battery comes to the end of it's lifespan. Q:- "Could you tell me whether the tyres are Tubeless or not?" , and "Would solid tyres be a good option?" (it seems EBikes are generally tubeless, but I have seen angled valve innertubes for 14x2.125 tyres, which would be necessary for the rear wheel). Sorry, if that's a noob question.
I have used a DYU bike like this but purely electric without pedals for 5 years ( still working perfectly!!)and I love it, take it everywhere in the car and on the train, brilliant!
I'm a pensioner and I ride the illegal 400/450w 48v version made by DYU for Kugoo Kirin, and iEnyrid. The V1/B2. I fitted a taller seat post, lower bars, and better brakes for about £50. I use it in illegal throttle mode and it always makes me smile. I'm going to upgrade to 52v when the battery needs replacing but that looks a long way off. The 36v DYU as riden by you has been tweeked by a few people. For example the 100kph DYU built by Julius in Pimp my Pev #4.
Its hilariously insane the law says we can't have a throttled 😂 ,of course I'm not surprised 😒 ,the Americans are always so stunned when you tell me we need a license just for the TV 😅😅😂
I've been riding my custom Windgoo for 2 years and it is a reliable fun ride to work and local shops. I added pedal assist, front brake, front forks, seat suspension and a bigger front wheel. Battery life is good and quick little ride around.
Looks like a fun ride, I bet quite a few would be ecstatic hopping on it and zipping about town. Having ridden to work using BART and then hauling my M2 Specialized bike up elevators and parking it inside, I can tell you I would love one just that size. Looks just about perfect, nice and nimble, fast and responsive in tight spaces. Perhaps an ESP32-S2 with tmp117 temp probe would make a nice safety device product, it could wifi you alerts if your bike gets too hot. Another stellar video - thanks! Perhaps you could do episodes on different bike riding uses(commute/shopping/exploring/exercising/socializing) and which bikes are better for each of those purposes. these individual bike reviews are great!
Nice review. I recently ordered this electric bike from Amazon. It's scheduled to be delivered in the next few days. I'm almost 65 years young, retired, 5'9, 165 pounds, and workout 3 or more times a week. I decided to purchase this e-bike because of the cost, portability, and features(I wanted an electric vehicle I could pedal but that wasn't too fast.). My main uses for this e-bike will be errands in a small town in deep South Texas (about a 30-45 minute drive from the Mexican border). This will be my first time on a 2 wheeled bicycle(I ride a trike at a local park sometimes) after my motorcycle accident in 2015 where I was run over by a distracted driver and spent 3 weeks in the hospital. It's time to "get back on the horse that threw me" to use an old Texas euphemism...:)
Your seat, Eilis, would be better a lot higher up, 160° at the knee would give greater comfort, and power. This tiny bike has a good seat-tube angle, as well, *actually* ! Might get me one for the van 😊
@@lonniepee9804 it can damage the knee, and tendons, less so when the motor's running, but if you go flat ...you're better to pedal standing up, all the way home.
Good to see you out and about in the real world, in a bit of rain (must do pouring rain sometime, like people have to if commuting!). Great you are supporting cheaper bike for those who don't have millions of pounds to spare. Also brill for going through the safe charging/battery story, we really need to sort these myths out for everyone's sake. Bike is a bit weirdly small, few spec items, weight and carrying would be helpful. Thanks for pushing the bell issue. All bikes should have bells..
These days I drive an Emove Escooter that is bunji corded twice to a extra wide wheelchair ♿!! I have tons of lights that go on the big wheels and around the thing and I have a over the shoulder strap/seatbelt so I can't get thrown from it. I carry my groceries home really well with it because I have a front strong thermal bag and a back one that I only bring when I am going to the grocery store. I promote The Blue Man Group with it too! Lots of blue on it and tons of blue lights for night rides around my Las Vegas,,BABY!! 💋
If the bike had a quick release lever to drop the saddle to the lowest setting, a folding mechanism at the bottom of the handlebars to drop them along the bike like the folding scooters do, and had a stand built onto the back to hold it upright once the front of the bike is lifted into the air then it would probably not take up much more floorspace than a folding bike other than the extra height which is probably just wasted space anyway when storing a folding bike. It could then be stood in the corner of the room, or the hallway or shed/garage when not being ridden.
I bring it right into the grocery stores and right into the Casinos and pretty much EVERYWHERE! After all it's just an electric Chopper style Wheelchair.
Re bms & battery quality: fully agree. Nothing Li+ bigger than a mobile phone battery (and even then if its taking over 5v usb input...) should be allowed without a quality bms. Ebikes ought to be switching to lifepo4 asap, also.
So what i need is an ebike to get to and from train station (4 miles each way) and to and from shops (2 miles each way) - both just far enough to default to car instead of walk. So ostensibly this looks great. But i live between leeds and wakefield. Each of those small journeys involves hills of varying degrees from gentle but extended incline which it would probably handle fine but also steepness in both directions on the longer journey to the train station which i doubt 10Nm will even touch. So... whats the best cheap option to handle a hill commute, rather than for cities which tend to be flatter? A rural home shops and public transport hub commuter? Doesnt need to have huge range but needs to have power, and needs to be low cost. *Throws down gauntlet with hopeful expression*
just recently found your channel its been helpful! was thinking about buying the DYU D3F or Fiido D3 Pro Mini, haven't fully decided yet! lol they both around same price £350-£363 (on sale)
I've got a Kugoo Kirin B2, the same bike with a different name, bought it last year for a laugh. My normal bike now has 2 flat tyres, hasn't turned a wheel since.
I’ve just bought a lovely quite expensive e-bike, can I use it for shopping, popping into town, can I leave it anywhere, not so much, the thing will just disappear into the ether, the police will say hey-how, can’t do too anything about bike crime, who do you think we are? A police force. So yes a £400.00 e-bike makes total sense.
Oh yes one other thing the centre of gravity on these little bikes are slightly tilted back so most of your weight is pretty much over the back wheel which could catch some people out if you don't know.
You didn't even FOLD iT! 😭😆 The DYU does fold down.. not as well but it is a foldable Ebike 👍🏾 Been riding mine for 2 years now.. although I have changed everything on it except the front wheel and the frame😅. Solid bike never the less💯
Great little bike I have one myself, I would like if they added larger wheels (for more torque & top speed) and a removable (perhaps upgradable?) battery.
my wife has a dyu uses everyday to commute to work gets 15 to 18 miles out of hilly roads before it needs a charge only downside is the ability to put a new battery in but prob be able to figure it out but i think its a 10ah so pretty good which is important when buying a e bike i have 5 bikes of amazon and always buy the best deal under a k its all about those reviews srry electroheads i know you have overheads lol im a salesman lmao but i have found the best ebikes i have so far are 36w 11.5 ah on amaxon in the black friday deal was £699 but i wanna get a 48w 20ah 250w 5 assists 7 speed geared when i find it under 1k the holy grail lol for me gotta build a bigger shed lol but ty for a great review by a lovely lady xx
I was going to buy this one before, but then I found out the Niubility b14(Ouxi V5) same size, a bit more expensive £549. But also gives more power, performance. 15 ah battery, 400w motor. Only downside is heavyweight 😂 but I love the cool design.
@@paulcullen814 we have stupid rules made by stupid fools the msg should be save the environment push bikes overtake me all the time double my speed so its plain stupid meh lol
@@paulcullen814 I actually live and work here in Central London. As what Jc26 said above, them checking the motor for ebikes here is like never. I've seen ebikes with 1000w motor and mostly popular 700w to 1000w + . There's also these public rental ebikes everywhere in London which I'm not sure what motor power they have though.
They don't last long though water gets in the freewheel and the bearings 1,200km The battery has gone on one and the motor had gone on the other was d3+ vip
@@winniepeg2020 , only prob with cheap goods; they add the occassional top-tier item but then skimp out on something else...get what pay for I suppose.
1. What is the percentage of power supplied by the electric motor in each pedal assist level in a 5 pedal assist EBike? 2. I admit that this EBike is a great little machine to go around.
We purchased this Vivi 27.5” electric bike and a Tentaquil 26” electric bike for our 13 and 14 year olds. ru-vid.comUgkxUiL0GnyDjP32RJdd660sP8mZk4CRLTCJ The Vivi was much easier to put together. With the Vivi, there was a video link to assist with assembly which made the process easier to follow (we did put the handlebars on upside down, but it was a quick and easy fix). With the Tentaquil, the assembly was not as simple to follow, but after we messaged the company for an assembly video, it was easier and they did respond quickly. The other major differences were that the Vivi has a grip throttle on the right handle (like a motorcycle) and the Tentaquil has a push throttle that you use your thumb to activate. The monitors were also different, so if you’re looking for something specific in terms of changing the bikes functions, pay attention to what the monitor offers. We were really impressed with the overall quality and functionality of both bikes, but if you’re looking for more power and an easier assembly, definitely go with the Vivi!
Ok update on the tyres. I spent roughly 70 pounds trying to get hold if a tyre that would work in the end the best tyre i have found to get is from Halfords, it's not the same width but it will fit nicely, it's a 1.75 not the 2.2 but the tyre works really well. So if you have one of these bikes and you need a new tyre check out Halfords they do a good range of tyres at hood prices, i could have saved around 60 pounds had i gone there first.
I bought one of these at Costco for $280 (clearance sale). Worst bike of any kind that I've ridden. Don't buy it, it's dangerous. Returned mine. Buy something like a Lectric or one of the many other 20" fat tire folding bikes that are popular now. They're pretty good, and they're safe.
Please i have problem i found charger i bout 3 charger but no one off them is working i don't no with is best voltage i bout 48v6 and 54v6 and 42 v.. Can someone give me advice please. Thanks
These are great little bikes I ride one most of the time I've actually done over 4 thousand miles on my one, however saying that my one is not called dyu, it is called Kugoo, and in order to make the best use of it, you need the throttle. There is no way you will get anywhere near the range stated, you might get 12 miles and at a push maybe 15 depending on your weight. They don't like hills much but will struggle up them, it's good to see dyu took note of what I said about the seat post originally they had a bouncy seat post which was just plain terrible as all of these bikes originally had, the standard seat post is much better, I also with my one have different handle bars which makes it even better. The worst thing about these bikes is getting hold of replacement tyres, other parts are ok on price but the tyres are a ridiculous price, and the tyres that come with it seem to be a magnet for punctures. I've even tried reinforcing the rear inside of the tyre which didn't work still gets lots of punctures. But overall it's a really good strong bike, you need to seal the motor or it will rust unless they took heed of that warning and fixed that as well, but that is a simple fix takes about 5 minutes to fix so long as you do it before it rusts up.
Dyu make them They don't last long the bearings get water in them and so does the freewheel 1,200km and it's wrecked We had 2 of them The motor went on one and the battery went on the other If you go out in the rain once the freewheel starts grinding 😱
I happen to disagree with your opinion regarding the safety of consumer products. I have felt for a long time that it is important for items purchased to be unnecessarily dangerous. I disable my escooter's battery management system because I want it to start a house fire, destroying all of my property and potentially harming any of several people.
I had a Kugoo Khirin ebike just like this one (looks the same just has slightly different parts), It was great it some ways but i just want to say the bad things about it. its abit wobbly at high speed which is dangerous and its also very dangerous if you crash or get hit by a car, compaired to a bigger bike. so i wouldnt buy one this small
I can’t contain myself - your riding position is appalling! That saddle desperately needs raising. There is so much guidance available to get a good bike fit. I think your channel is great, but riding position undermines credibility.
That bike looks so sketchy and unsafe the way they designed it makes the handle bars wanna start wiggling. These companys need to realize that theres a stupid kid out there like me whos gonna take it down the steepest streets ever at a million miles an hour
Its called a tank slapper ona motorcycle and its from having to much weight in the back alot of harleys can have this problem if they start bouncing at high speed. Your actually not suppost to do the thing your gonna do and thats fight the wiggling handle bars i did that at 100 mph abd it tranfers to the back and it started drifting the motorcycle and evebtually threw me off.
