I absolutely love my 21 fatboy. No problem at all with turns. You just have to be the boss of your bike. I can do 20 ft circles and figure 8’s all day long. The comfort and power is intoxicating. I’m 70 years young and I ride every day. I did a stage 4 upgrade and the power on the highways can get you out of any situation at all, giving all kinds of confidence. I still can’t get off of it without looking back as I walk away to admire it. I added a big man seat and can take a 500 mile trip with no fatigue at all. I could go on. I LOVE it!
In my experience riding it, the handling is different, but just move your hips in the corners and you can handle turns with ease, so for me it’s more interactive ride than other softails at regular/normal speeds.
Yep , its different. I had a wide glide before this, and was a bit worried about cornering , but I seem to enjoy corners more on the fatty as a lay over more on bends.
Switch to Metzler cruisetec and upgrade to a 260 rear tire you will be amazed at how much better it handles. In mine and many others who have done it opinion it’s a must do upgrade.
I just bought a 2022 with a 131 Screaming Eagle engine, Basanti 2 into one exhaust. It gets looks everywhere I go and people want to know what’s in the engine. I love it.
Super happy you did this bike. I’m getting this bike soon and I feel like this bike is overlooked by everyone. Although a classic not sought out after in the American market.
I love the stage presence (after 12" x 2" bars) I'm over 6' tall, power on demand (after Cam). I learned how to ride on Killmonger...my first bike. Looks like I will go to mid controls and a shelf seat. *SS plate/pump/bearing *Woods 22XE cam *Trask window cam cover/ Assault air cleaner/ 2 into 1 shorty pipes *Custom leather swing arm bag All done by Blockhead Moto's Stage 1 & Stage 2 video. Triple Digit Tees every time I go.
I bought mine 3 weeks ago and i love it I’ve come from a Cvo road glide and a Cvo breakout to just having one bike , i got the sharkskin blue with chrome to the hilt i have put on some screaming eagle cannons and a sundowner seat as the stock seat leave a little to be desired apart from that its pretty stock and i think i might get a screen and some bags for longer trips but I’ll leave them off for normal riding as the bike just looks so cool without them. If you ride a touring Harley you probably won’t like it as you really have to ride this bike especially into corners. I had the Cvo’s for 11 years hopefully this one will last as long if not longer .
I love my ‘21 Fat Boy, in gauntlet grey and vivid black. I went with the Freedom Performance 2to1 side turnout pipe (chrome) and the Trask air cleaner. She looks dope and it definitely gave me a boost in performance and sounds perfect. I love the bike.
I have no problems with turns/curves on my fatboy. City riding is easy. Sometimes I have to steer more with the handlebars. I just put a winsheil and bags on mine and it still looks sweet. I have hydronic on the back of mine, when I lift it it handles super around curves. It almost floats. The bags have drink holders for long rides. Very comfortable.
I ride an M109R, just as beefy as this and handles real well. I do have a 260 tire, im wondering if the Fat Boy would fit 260? This may very well be my next bike
Wouldn't have anything but a Harley Davidson Fatboy 114 (my 2023). Harley Davidson knocked it out of the park when they designed this bike (1990 born). Fell in love with this bike the first time I saw it! 😊
I love my 2021 HD Fat Boy. It's got an iconic look but modern at the same time. Definitely a head turner. I recently did a HD Demo Day and rode about 8 other bikes. I determined that I made the absolute right choice. It does take a little more to push into a turn but it more than makes up for that on the straight roads. The big tires make highway expansion joints a non-issue and much smoother ride. I did make a few upgrades. I have a removable windshield that I only use for cold days or long rides. The seat is comfy but after a few hours it gets a little tough on the tailbone. I went with a HD Sundowner seat which is wider and has resolved that issue. With this seat, I did not have to replace the passenger pinion. I had to put some S&S slip on exhausts, just because. Lastly, I got an Atlas Throttle Lock which helps a ton, although I think the new ones now have cruise control,
Do yourself a favor and upgrade to METZLER Cruisetec’s with a 260 rear. It transforms the handling of the FATBOY and takes the riding enjoyability to another level.
I’m new to the world of Harley-Davidson. I purchased the a 2023 Fat Boy on June 23, 2023. I love the bike and being able to ride all day. I’m in the process of putting a small fortune on it, lol. Wife had to give me a stern warning 😅😂.
@@byronruhter4144 I put a detachable windscreen on it, V&H Big Radius pipes, with a stage 1, sissy bar for my wife, Harley Hammock seat, rider back rest, chrome engine guard, αir cleaner and led marker light. Stage 2 next year.
Where those speakers are mounted is where the Tach & Speedo should be & same size too. That way they're easy to read in all sorts of weather and sun glare. I prefer the Buckhorn bars over these. The most iconic is the 2020 Deluxe of which they stopped /(really dumb) to do so. That is the most beautiful bike on the planet, to me anyway.
I disagree, the ultimate iconic Harley Davidson is the Road King. I've owned and loved a Fat Boy and now ride and really love an '07 Road King. I believe that in most peoples minds when they think HD, they are picturing the Roadie.
I just got the 2023 120 Anniversary Fat Boy and love it so far. Yes the the turn is different thou I did have a large bagger type of bike before. So far so good love the look and color with Heirloom Red Fade. Got it because I loved the color and the way it looked. 😎
My 2018 Fatboy is the best looking bike ever made. BUTT with only 2000 miles on it….it was a ticking time bomb. Just out of warranty, the motor was noisy and clattering like a ticking time bomb and the dealer wouldn’t fix it. I sold it.
Sold my 2022 Fatboy recently and bought a 2016 Fatboy S.....and I reckon there is no comparison. Same exhaust on both bikes - big radius V&H. But the sound, looks and handling is way better on the Fatboy S for me.
I enjoy my 2019 Fat Boy. I have done a few mods Custom Dynamic LED front and rear signals with the Magic Strobe, Harley rear turn signal relocation kit, TAB Performance slip on’s with the medium baffles, driver backrest, legends mono shock, DK Custom 1” handlebar risers, Harley Cruise Control, Harley detachable windshield, Viking Vivid Black Fiberglass bags and a Harley heel toe shifter. Now it looks like a Fat Road King Wannabe lol. Lots of fun and lots of curb appeal.
For that price it should have the exhaust and cam from the factory. Definitely another disc and caliper up front. For $10k you can find way better bikes.
I love my 2020 fatboy, but there is a few things not so good, it wobbles in heavy motorway or freeway traffic especially following large vehicles and even worse with a windshield and bags, with the solid rims acting like sails. I ditched the windshield and bags, better. Extreme uneven tyre wear, one side still new the other side bald, I have been told because of the width of the tyres the road camber eats the life out one side. It takes a bit of time to get used to cornering especially at low speed. Sorry for the winge but I hope it helps. I'll be back babe!
After only doing 5500 miles the front tyre has worn out on one side due to going around roundabouts and I’m not a hard rider has anyone else had this problem but this is the only bike I wanted and I absolutely love it and the only downside is that it always needs cleaning
I have a 2018 Fatboy. Owned it over 3 yrs, love it. But mine chews front tyres on r/h side. They only last 7,000kms. I tried Bridgestones last time . the same. It's not the tyres. Anyone tried modding the front suspension to see if that fixes it?? Speedo fogs up, fuel gauge . .well, a catch can stops oil in the air filter. . . Love the style, it's easy to ride, easy in traffic if you're patient. I ride mine up in the mountains all the time, love it.
hi im from new zealand, i brought myself a2010 fatboy its black and loaded with crome to the max ,a real looker and i love riding it. never going to part with it, never
The fatboy, road king, and heritage classic are the best most iconic Harley’s IMO because they’re never gonna look dated no matter what year the bike is. You hop on an ultra classic with a cassette player and crappy speakers you’re gonna instantly know that bike is old.
I enjoyed watching the video, thank you. but the final thoughts were contradictory. You say it's for cruising and crushing a lot of miles, but you also add that you don't know who would use it for long distance travelling, then you said it could be used for weekend or day trips. It looks like it has two gas caps, one on each side of the tank; can they both be used? My bike (not a HD) only has one.
When I had my 89 883 sporty upgraded to 1200 cc with wiseco pistons I had her up to 100 mph next to my buddy who was on his 900cc Yamaha. Although I hit 100mph it defo was not pleasant .lol
Great video man. Personally I’d just pop a cardo pack talk on/in my helmet and ditch the testicle speakers lol. They’re ridiculous LOL. I know it’s not your bike I’m just sayin.
How reliable is the engine of this Fat boy? Had that doubt a lot of months ago, so many positive as negative comments and now I just don't know what to think... "it isn't water cooled" "harley's sucks" Man, for that price and that great lookin motorcycle I just want a bullet proof engine that I can trust on it, that will not throw me away in the mid of the road haha! Just want that confidence between my legs, because it's a dream bike, I love the desing, but if the engine is trash... then I will definitely start to search another bike Hope someone can help me, keep riding safe brothers!
@TheMotoJawn "Most of the time online you only hear the bad stuff" Brother... I didn't see that perspective, damn... I believe in your words, it's so God damn true. Definitely your comment helped me a lot, I'm grateful, I really appreciate your answer Thanks for the time, and keep doing priceless work on your videos, I really enjoy them a lot!
@@MirdenLayra on the earlier models ( I have one ) the cam chain had tensioner pads to keep the tension on the cam chain.Nothing wrong with that , but they needed to be checked if the mileage went up.And to do that the exhaust and cam chain cover had to come off to check the condition of the outer pad.On the newer ones they did away with that system .
I hate that license plate location too. That's why I always swap mine out for the Checkmate Tidy Tail from Australia. No advertisement, just a pleased customer.
It would be great with standard sized tires. As those things wear, it's already lame cornering turns downright dangerous. Shame as the bike is otherwise very comfortable and good looking.
I bought a used 2018 Fatboy with a 114 it was oil sumping after making a tranny cover vent was ok but was leaving a puddle coming out the breather So last winter I bought a S&S 128 ci cylinders kit with 475 cam oil pump and lifters Vance and Hines big radius exhaust and put a custom tune on it Runs like a raped ape no more oil sumping what so ever!!!
I love my 2022 Harley Fat Boy but an asshat stole it 3 weeks ago and I'm stuck paying $10,000 out of my pocket to pay off the loan. GET GAP INSURANCE AND GET A LOUD ALARM SYSTEM!!!
