It was radical at debut. And over a decade later it still rules the category. #Goodyear #Tires #trucks

Bought a ‘17 Colorado ZR2 in 2020 in Va, put a new set of Duratracs on at purchase and put on just shy of 80k miles. Admittedly most miles were on road but never had any performance issues. The last 15-20k miles were noisy, but no real performance issues. Performed fantastic in snow, sand, and rain.

I was an early adapter of the DuraTrac, in 2009 I bought a set in factory size for my 2007 Tacoma. For where I live and the amount of offroad I did it was a great tire and the C rated tire was a great strength to weight ratio for that pickup and the wheeling I did. I don't offroad as much as I did back then and I can appreciate the newer hybrid tires that are a little quieter, like a Wildpeek or Cooper At3. My wishlist for 4x4 tires is now traction, comfort/sound, durability, price and looks.

Make sure you rotate them often. They get extremely noisy as they wear, and if you don’t rotate them they get extremely noisy much quicker. They will howl like banshees to the point of driving you insane.

I live in Minnesota, and I just bought a set of these for my 2006 sequoia limited, and they are amazing in the snow. There was a bit of road noise, but I was expecting that from such an aggressive tread. But so far, for my situation, they are amazing! I haven't had to use my 4wd yet because they work so well!

The new duratrac rt with 3ply sidewall addresses the primary issue with the old duratrac (off-road biased tread, but weak sidewall) after 13 years.

These have been my winter tires for about 8 years, have gone through a set and replaced them. I live on the side of a mountain where you can wake up to 6"-1' of snow and need to go up and down a dirt road. I have pulled a trailer out of a foot of snow with these tires. They are loud af, grab on to any rut or seem in the road, get no where near the mileage they claim if you do a lot of towing and hauling and take a turd on your mpgs. They are still the best winter tire out there.

The price (a set of 5 was $500 less that a set of Wild Peaks) along with being available in stock Jeep sizes, where other top tier tires are not, made the them my top choice. Looks, Price, performance - they are they whole package for my application.

Duratracs are great for Florida. Perform amazingly in the mud and soft sands we have here. I got 75k miles out of the last set. I rotated them every 5-8k miles. Had them on my ‘13 Tacoma 4x4. They were noticeably louder around 45-50k mark. But that is to be expected, and was still totally tolerable. Just put a brand new set on today, and fell in love with them all over again. Truly amazing tire.

I know this thread is a year old lol, but going to buy a set for my frontier. I’m just curious how they do in the rain in Florida? @@jakerton97 to clarify they are great when you’re going in a straight line when it’s wet or hit standing water. They do feel a little unstable when going around turns at speed when the road is wet. The rubber is super soft, as is the sidewalls. Hope this helps narrow down your decision.

Run them on a variety of vehicles for the last 10 years here in Canada on work trucks that we do around 40,000-50,000km a year on each truck. A lot of rough and dirt/gravel roads and heavy snow and ice conditions as well as logging roads and trails to get to sites. On the other hand might have to drive 300km on the highway first to get to the final general area. Have run them on 3 x F150's and they average around 110,000+km before getting changed as they are near wear bars or just feel cant make it through another winter (one truck did 140,000km before we changed them) (we dont use 150s any more). On F250's they can go 60-70,000km easy but the 250's carry a lot of weight. On 150s and 250's they are rotated every 10,000km apx give or take but they must be rotated ! Have them on several 4x4 Sprinters and they are a bit squirmy driving when new for the first 15,000km but lowering pressure from factory sticker helps (its not real bad except in first 1000km imo) .. On the sprinters they are rotated every 30,000 km (same as oil change interval). On the sprinters we get 130,000km easy on a set and they actually go the most driving on really rocky and dirt roads and really bad conditions winter driving often in extremely deep snow or sheer ice roads in very steep grades. I have personally driven them on pure ice in a 4x4 sprinter on on steep single lane tracks with sharp turns and did make it always. 2500 series sprinters are fairly loaded weight wise with fully loaded tool and parts racks and equipment/supplies on board. The sprinters are very reliable and just did an order for the new 2023 models. All are load range E and stock sizes.

On my last service, they told me my Nokian Hakka Blue 2 summertires were down to 3mm and I knew I had to get a new set by next summer. I live in scandinavia, so I do have a separate set of winter and summertires. Tough a finnish brand, I know a lot of them are made in russia, so figured out they could be hard to get due to sanctions. I was right, but my tyre supplier, recommended Goodyear Wrangler Duratrac instead and they were also cheaper. I bought them straight away, since reduced availabillity will increase prices in the spring. So far I have just driven them from the shop to home on asfalt, but noticed how quiet they were (and Nokian is also known for how quiet they run). These have more offroad quality than I am used to from Nokian and Continental, but since I do travel in the mountains on gravel roads and the like in the summers, I am looking forward to next summer's tests. Besides, they do look better on my Pajero than my nokian tires.

Best all around tire I've ever owned. Ran them year round due to their excellent winter performance which has the added benefit of not having to keep a separate set of wheels/tires in the garage. I ran my first set for almost 5 years and ~70,000 kms when I sold the truck. It started developing weather cracks (lived outdoors and rarely shined the tires) in year 4 but there was still enough tread for at least another year or more if you push them to the wear bars. Phenomenal tire. When friends ask for my opinion on truck tires I feel like they almost don't believe me about how good these are. I'm now on my second set on my new truck and hope to get the same level of performance and longevity.

These came standard on my 21 RAM Rebel Diesel and am extremely satisfied. I’ve got 23K on them and they are wearing well. I’ve towed our 24’ trailer about 9K miles. So they pass the “tow test”. We do some medium off roading. We’ve been up Berdoo Canyon at Joshua Tree (turns out most folks come down). We hit a mud fest last December on Dry Creek Road in Sedona and the tires shed mud just fine. We also returned to Dry Creek Road in April. The dry performance was just as good. Goodyear makes Wrangler and Wrangler Duratrac, what u have is not the duratrac, that u have is wrangler with S 80 (max speed 80) Duratrac has S110 (max speed 110), I drive fast, I can not go with Wrangler, I need Wrangler Duratrac.
