Google Fi promises super fast 5G internet data speed. But is it REAL or is it FAKE?
I test Google Fi both locally in the US and then internationally to see how their fast internet data speeds holds up - Here is what I discovered about Google Fi's fast data

I 100% agree. I have Google Fi with the pixel phone. I have the Flexible plan so I only pay for what I use since I'm connected to wifi a lot. It comes with an included free VPN as well if you choose to. I also travel internationally and went to Italy and Switzerland just recently. My main priority was on international coverage at a fair price and good speed. I decided to go with Google Fi last year after researching different providers. Best decision I could make. I'm not going back to old providers.

Love your videos!! I am a victim of identity theft. My life is no longer private. I feel violated. It’s an iPhone and all I have. They have my email, name, physical address, & I do not know how but they have my phone number so have my whole entire phone. It’s no longer mine. I set up gmail & the 2-factor authentification gets changed! I can’t even have a dang email. Apple was NO help nor was my ISP. Should I just destroy this phone?? I hate iPhone.

What T-Mobile plan do you have, was it Magenta max with the 5gb of premium data or just magenta? Also if you have a “phone for Google fi” I’d be really curious to see if us cellular is faster than Tmobile on fi.

Ping times matter just as much, if not more than, the bandwidth you get. For example, Dent Wireless, while in US, provides sufficient speeds, but is routed through Europe, ends up giving you 500ms or so ping, and it fills slow as molasses.

I would just like to point out that aside from the normal fluctuations in speed, there is an order of priority based on plan tier. Your T-Mobile speed if you had a lower end plan could be slower at times than even an mvno depending on the network. There's a whole rabbit hole for this sort of thing thing

I have had Google Fi for about 2 years and something has changed recently and the data speed is terrible. When I first got the plan it was very fast and now it seems almost unusable in the upper Midwest US. I don't know if it is related to them getting dropped by US cellular or if T-Mobile is throttling them now, but I am considering looking for something else.

Yeah, I see similar issue. I came from TMobile where it was around 1.5-3 mbps in north west USA. I saw people with their speed test running at 100+mbps, which I never came close. Even their techs messed around with my phone, but no dice. After 2-3 years, I decided to change over to Google Fi. It started out pretty decent (25-30mbps) in the first 2 years, but now... around 3-8mbps.

I've got Google Fi with an eSim. How do I know if I'm using Google Fi or T-Mobile or will I only be using Google Fi since I don't have a SIM?

If you don't have a SIM and only have Google Fi - how are you with T-Mobile? I am confused... But lets say you have a T-Mobile sim and Google Fi eSim so you have two cell numbers (one from each provider). When you make a call it will ask you which SIM you want to use, same when sending a text. When it come to data, and calls and text, you can set up your preference in the phone's Mobile setting. Swipe down, long hold on Internet, click the gear icon next to T-Mobile (or whoever your main provider is)

I use Google Fi, it's okay, they do data speed cap you after a certain point. Felt misleading to me personally with the whole truly unlimited talk. But that's why they have all those asterix in the fine print hahha
