WOW! You are good at this. In the start-midle you told that we don't know what the Thin Man doing in the traped children. Well I think that he traps them there and he is waiting to be old and big to them go in the Maw and be useful there. And the Janitor with the Monster Six have some similarities (huge hands small legs and the most important, Janitor is blind and Monster Six is metafor blind ( adicted to the music box). This is an extremely unbelievable theory. First of all, the Janitor doesn’t wear a blindfold, it’s his skin piled up on his face, pay attention to the character model. Poor Janitor, he didn’t deserve to have such bad genetics. I see the relation with Roger and The Toddler, both for what seems as been abandoned. The signal tower in little nightmares 2 further implies how you can become a monster in physical form purely by the power of the Tower. Six is seen becoming a monster when taken by the thin man, in which could’ve happened to Roger, who may or may not be the Toddler, all we know is that Roger had most likely been distorted by the tower in his youth. further more, we both know the illusion and physical transformation of the tower can be reverted by destroying what keeps you stable, or in Six’s case, the music box. (R.I.P Mono) Something happened to Rogers item of value, for all we know it could even be the Maws functioning as a whole. At the end of the first game, the Janitor would’ve been reverted, that is if he didn’t get his spaghetti caught off by six. The reason it would’ve been reverted is The Maw is temporarily cancelled or deformed without supervision of an owner. That is until new six steps up, continuing the time loop. But we both know that this time loop will only reform the Maw under new Six’s control, further continuing the time loop that every character in the franchise is stuck in. This is not the case with the twin chefs as they wear masks of the deceased guests on close notice. And Roger is just another employee trying to make money and have a better life, but the fact he chooses the Maw, a place to trap children and wrap them into meat carriages shows how terrible life outside the Maw must be. He’s just trying to make money, the Maw overtook his appearance as he gradually became more frightening. I don’t think the Janitor kills the kids, and this isn’t because of the death screen like many people use for reasoning. He actually comforts them with toys that he could’ve made himself. Maybe the granny was his wife, abandoned for her beauty by the lady, sent to the depths leaving him heartbroken. The granny could also be another guest finding themselves at the bottom of the maw lurking throughout a bit too much, in which is a more enjoyable theory considering the granny and the female guest have almost identical facial structures, which is further provided by the hungriness of the granny. When the runaway kid throws a chunk of fish in the sewer surface, the granny finds herself grabbing it in less then 7 seconds. Starving and skinny for the lack of food she has resorted to due to her new state, becoming almost twice as kill hungry than the guests. Both theories make sense nonetheless. The twin chefs want to make money as well, only difference is they not only capture the kids, but boil them. The lady must be hungry for six, as she could be six herself stuck in a time-loop. She can’t be six’s mother as that was debunked by the developers. The lady could be six herself trying to capture as many children in hope of capturing six, knowing full well what will eventually happen to her that year the Maw comes back up the ocean floor. Six later becomes the owner of the Maw as seen wielding the power of the children’s shadows and soul of everyone in her way at the end of the game. She strives for immortality and youth afterwards due to her inner ugliness. The janitor knows that the lady is a greedy human being, and instead of killing the children, he gives them a nice bedroom to work with. If you look at the kids he ties up, they’re most certainly dead, and the reason he doesn’t let the kids wander off out of the Maw is because he knows the dangers, the Granny, leeches, the guests, all of them could lie within any corner of the Maw without the Lady’s supervision. The janitor doesn’t want the eye to capture the girl in the beginning of the 1st dlc. At the end of the first dlc, the janitor captures the runaway kid in fear of her own corrupted wife or possibly even any heartless creature lurking within the sewers capturing him at such depths. The only way he makes money is by wrapping the kids without even killing them as seen with the runaway kid. He clearly gives the chefs the wrong meat to cook and gives them the corrupted guests, in hope that the wrapped child escapes, repeating the process. It’s like pretending to do a chore and reverting to your switch after no supervision. I hope this comment gave you an understanding of the Janitor.

@@AngrySeal8232 It could be a possibility but imo i dont think the hanging man is the thin man,, if you think about it, thin man is only able to leave the signal tower once mono opens the door right after he opens the door, he takes six and brings her back to the signal tower which is then where he takes off after mono to stop him from chasing after her as she turns but idk,, its all theories and the world of little nightmares will always have questions unanswered :]

Bro wtfff how did I not think of the last one- And YESSS I actually believe that the portrait girl is RC girl too. This isn't confirmed though, we need to accept that. Other candidates could be flashlight girl or even the Pretender! (Credits to a certain person who pointed out how tall the portrait girl was as she was aligned to the Lady in the portrait. Then again this could be an artistic mistake which is normally common in that era.)

And our patience has finally paid off!! The release of Little Nightmares III on 2024 was announced (very) recently. I knew I would be happy to see the trailer, but boy am I EXCITED

I was like "nah that can't be true." but then I remembered the pretender fell into the WATER and she could've very well adapted to it and turned into the granny over time. this theory gave me chills.

So, the pretender is the granny, the toddler is the janitor, Mono is the thin man, Six is the lady, the lollipop kid is the barber, the ponytail girl is the teacher, and the ghost kid is the hunter. Makes 100% sense

one thing that could suggest otherwise is the period of the time loop. (disclaimer: this going to get complicated and I'm probably overthinking it the dev's even said "no literal time loop is possible"). the age difference between the other children who supposedly turn into adult monsters is roughly the same. mono aged about 9 turns into thin man aged about 60, six aged 9 turns into lady aged about 60. However the granny looks far older than the thin man or lady while the pretender is the same age as mono & six so I think the pretender cannot be the granny as the time taken for six to become the lady < the time taken for the pretender to become the granny. could function with the fractured time theory.
