It has been out for a few months on our store shelves so not exactly brand new but new enough to still have NEW tags Klein 11 in 1 Impact Rated Screwdriver/Nutdriver
Hi Jason. I bet you will try it a few times ,just because its there. Because you try these tools so we don't have to. Thanks again for sharing your knowledge and opinion on the " New " tools.
as a general tradesman, this is one of my favorite and most used tools. But I rarely have to do “precision” work. I love it’s tool density or versatility. You’re getting a lot for a relatively compact package, and it works even better with klein’s other knect tools.
If anything put 2 extensions on each side of the adapter and have a useful screwdriver to go along with it. I've also used vessel double ended bits in that center adapter depending on the if it stays 13mm ish
Mostly a electrician here but I do my gaie share of general maintenance that said... I have the lowes racheting one and use a triple tap bit for cleaning threads that have that ball dent (blue side) and a ecx bit in thr single bit holder. The other side I use whatever extensions i want. The empty side I actually use a wera harpoon reduced shank bits as they give you a super good angle on door knobs. Thoes wera bits are so thin feel free to grab one to try and my contribution to locksmiths today.
They also sell 1in impact insert bits with wera lazer tips Wera - 5056662001 Series 1 853/1 TZ ACR They come in 10 packs and I've never shattered or hurt one in even a m18 1900 ilbs on a 6in philips (what I call a crackhead screw) for reinforcement of hinges where there's no door jam left.
I agree nice that it has impact bits and can be connected.. but if it fails as a handheld screw driver for locksmith work then just carry some impact bits in your pocket
The other thing to note here is that don’t think you may have noticed, by removing one of the nut driver ends you could put your fairly short impact adapter in there, you’d lose a few bits of course but it is an option!
It was also pointed out to me after the fact that the handle alone can also be used with their 1/4” sockets. Now I have to go buy their 1/4” socket set just to see! 😂😂
@@TheTacticalFarmer yes I think that’s what Justin T said, he sent me the link to the set and yeah it’s them. His driver handle and mine have different splines though, kinda weird
Great review Jason, I love how you cover all the little stuff like the balance and the angle/scratch-ability. I understand the siren call off new tools but like you said at the end, no one wants to add another crying voice to the Box of Unused Tools either 😂
just to note, I don’t know if you saw it but I actually put the LTT driver in there for comedic value 😂 I actually have been using it lately, mostly for large mortise cylinder master keying :) trying to get back in the habit of using ratcheting & battery drivers trying to save the wrists!
Yep, I was evaluating which screwdriver to carry with me in my main rolling toolbags and for my smaller bags. I'll do some short videos on it in the near future. I'm also thinking of things I should of brought with me as I'm going thru a walkthru with the customers. Things I should of had on me like a flash light or a key decoder.
Do you often find hinges installed with square whole screws (or as Canadiens call them Robertson). Nice tool - id probably get one if i go shopping without the Mrs.
It irritates the hell out of me when contractors use impact drivers to install door hardware, such as the end caps on Von Duprin 99's. Those tiny screws are so tight you almost have to drill them out!
As someone that had been an electrician for many years prior to recently becoming a locksmith, The 11 in 1 Klein is awesome for an electrician but not too useful as a locksmith
Supposedly they changed the wings in the center to hex so the 12 point in the handle can be used with the klein 1/4” ratchet set’s. The 12 point hollow shank extension fits directly in the handle creating a universal “through handle” nut driver. Or does that model not have the 12 point in the handle?
all those nested parts and flipping special bits about is not for me. I go with a 1/4 driver that takes any bit I need it to work with. TX25 is about the only torx not used with locks
