Thanks for posting. I have heard of the visoflex option and as I understand it, it provides evf equivalent via the hot shoe. So does the Visoflex provide TTL focusing alternative for the M11/M10?
I recently tested an M11p and thought I was going to hate the rangefinder experience (especially as my eyesight has deteriorated slightly this last 2 years) but came away smiling. I really enjoyed it! However, I am a professional brand lifestyle/ documentary photographer and wondered if I would ever get quick enough with manual focusing, especially with groups of moving people etc. I really like the form factor and weight compared to the bigger canons and Fujis I carry around. It’s back breaking sometimes. Do the M’s synch with lights (I currently use Elinchrom strobes and Godox speed lights)? Thanks for the info on the Visoflex.
I use the Type 020 Visoflex on my M10R for focus when I shoot my 21mm or 15mm or 135mm. Don’t mind using it but it is a battery killer. Much prefer the optical rangefinder.
I really want to shoot with the M system, but I just dont like rangefinder focussing. Bought and sold a M10 2 years ago, I‘m crossing my fingers for a future EVF M-mount camera alongside the traditional rangefinder. Greetings from Germany 🍻
@@CianMcsweeney You could just as easily build a M with an EVF where the rangefinder patch is (see Fuji X100 series) I love the looks and feeling of an M, I just dont enjoy the rangefinder focussing. I much prefer SLR OVFs or newer EVFs. I personally believe EVF M‘s would fly off the shelf :)…
@@ynkkruse but then it's not a leica m? Just buy an X-Pro at that stage? (Which I've owned and enjoyed) Leica M's are the only digital rangefinder in existence, I could get behind them doing a hybrid ovf/evf like the X-Pro, but the rangefinder patch has to be optical
@@ynkkruse I am opposite - I have a Sony ml camera and Leica M. For manual focus lenses I enjoy using M's OVF, quick and accurate more than Sony's EVF.
It is also great for street. You can look down in your camera and the crowd sees you as someone who is fumbling around with some old fashion photo device 😊🫣
