I like the unique and different animation that happens between the regular slash and charge where the inkling/octoling takes the weapon out of the capsule and use the bush the annihilate anything in front of it.
so crazy how nintendo has given SO MUCH LOVE towards the splatana class, arguably the most unique class the series has ever seen. it’s great to see, even though stringers have been struggling to survive
The only thing that Chara missed is look at when Mint hits Recycle’s Launched Canopy. It doesn’t even destroy it. It’s looking like the biggest downside for Mint is gonna be a low Object Damage. Perhaps us Tent mains will survive after all…
[Edit] Stamper and Wiper do one-shot recycle brella shield with a 4.8 damage multiplier. Never mind my original comment. [Edit again]: No, Sendou is straight up wrong. Stamper absolutely does not one-shot Recycle brella's launched shield.
IKR! there are so many syneregistic options as well, like splatana dashes, brella shields, dualie dodges, roller horizontals. so much untapped potential, basically sums up splatoon 3 as a whole🤣

The weirdest thing to me is that this and Bambrella's 2nds feel like their subs were swapped. Think about how amazing Wall would be on Bambrella, splashdown synergizes with the shield's launch and paint trail, the shield's HP gets made up for by the splash wall, and the weapon can either go aggro or, as Custom Explo has proven, use Splashdown defensively after the buff. Now think about this thing with MIST. Stamper was fun with mist, but didn't benefit that much. This thing? Decavitator would literally just be able to say "nuh uh, no escaping!" And throw a mist at you before running you over like a semi truck.

this has to be one of the coolest weapon concepts ever, the way that you unsheath the sword for the charged slash might be the coolest thing they have ever put in the game, so excited to try this out (plus they gave it 2 actual kits so thats also a plus)
Splash wall on this is like splash wall on reeflux it just doesn't work and negates the kit almost entirely. Especially since I'm betting that they are making it 210 pps or something ridiculous for the weapon

I still can't believe actually gave this weapon a unique animation compared to other Splatanas (I mean it's a modified normal slash but still different). I originally thought they wouldn't have any of the unique ideas others mentioned like dual Splatanas or a Rapier like Splatana since they would require new animations for just one weapon (Only time this really happened was with the Inkbrush and Blaster Series in Splatoon 1 since those were still classified as a Roller and Shooter respectively) but the Decavitator now gives me the feeling that those will be possible.
This weapon looks like it'll be so fluid when you get good with it, just being able to dash, get a kill, and finish off another weakened opponent is so cool
Extra reason to be sad; if we get third kits for all weapons, if my maths is right we could get every special with 10 kits each (assuming no more main weapons); they could add 16 kits average and nothing else each season for another year of content. It is literally perfect, the devs just need to do it.
More love to stringers too please. Buff tristringer's damage is all i want rn. Buff the shots from 35 to like 38 so it can actually do damage even if it gets only two shots in.
This Splatana looks Insane! I can’t wait to play it since I’ve mained stamper since I got the weapon. Although Note that I believe it’s horizontal slash width looks to be smaller than other splatanas so it may require more aim there. But can’t wait for this thing! They made the anime slash a weapon
Honestly my one gripe is that I don't think it'll work with splash wall quite as well as stamper would've, but then again you can ONLY have line of sight compared to stamper where you can ledge peek. And hey, if you wanna do ledge peeking, you have inkjet!
That's not entirely true. This thing might not be able to ledge peak like stamper can, but with that charge slash it can probably just do the horizonal version of that and corner peak. Like when it comes to hitting around corners this thing seem like it's approaching blaster and machine levels of insanity with those hitboxes
I think it’s important to notice that the charge slash didn’t one shot the recycle shield like stamper does, so I think the damage numbers between the slashes will be more even than the other swords
Honestly I wish all the DLC weapons got their second weapon kits instantly because wow it feels so good to see a new weapon and instantly know that it has a second option and you won’t be forced to use the first option for months
I've seen a few people say how the splatanas seem to outclass the rollers and brushes and I don't have enough knowledge to agree or disagree. But this one does seem especially strong for a close range weapon.
As someone whose favorite weapon so far is vWiper, I am insane hyped for these new Splatanas. I'm eager to try both of them out and see how fun they feel
Well to be fair the stamper was never meant to fulfill the dynamo architype. Everybody thinks wiper is the base splatana but the stamper is actually the base one and the wiper is lightweight splatana. Even then the decapitator looks more like a heavy painter and damage and not quite the dynamo play style considering it has a ton of paint. It's more like the dread bucket of splatana. Explo is like the dynamo of buckets but decapitator doesn't quite give off that vibe yet. Maybe with slight tweaks nerf/buff it'll feel more so like a dynamo. I think I'm it's current state it's too fast to be akin to the dynamo play style.
@@RetroGhost16 I meant that by the fact the decapitator is slower, stronger, has longer range (kinda), and is incredibly ink hungry. But I see what you mean
I was definitely eyeing Jet on the second kit for this thing when we saw none of the other weapons had it, but I'm so glad it actually happened - more jet weapons is always a good thing.
ALSO it has splatana class object damage, and the incredible paint with its horizontal slash. it’s like getting a full tent shield launch worth of paint with a 1/2 second charge time. wild
I sincerely hope that this is another cooler situation where everyone thinks it’ll be broken, it turns out to be mid, and then in like 5 months it’s the new pencil
For the mint decaviator if you think about it it’s like flingza Roller it had a long dash attack but a fast charge, for flingza it has a long horizontal flick like dynamo buta fast vertical flick like Carbon plus splash wall to hide and counter attack witch inkjet it’s going to be crazy like the reflux meta
Decavitator is just dapple sword. They both have: shortest range of their class, a notable difference in their main class gimmick, and toothbrushes. Corporate wants you to find the difference between this picture and this picture. They’re the same picture.
I dropped Stamper because I was skill issuing the charge slashes (both up close and at range), so seeing that this has a wide _horizontal_ hitbox instead makes me very excited to try it out
I had actually thought new stamper would have worked well with wall over mist so I get why they gave it to a sword eventually, think it would've made more sense on the crab kit tho.

It would make sense for them to do third kits, since they easily fit them in the game's lifespan in the other two games, and should keep giving the game updates
this weapon looks so fun man,i can't wait for it. In terms of viability it looks alright.the bigger hit box with chargered slash looks really helpful and the paint look pretty good, and both kits look good, for vanilla because of how long the dash goes you can set up big bubbler in good spot and you can defend it pretty well because of big hit box, and suction bomb is good,crazy i know. The neo variant is probably better in my opinion, splash wall can help because uncharged slashes are a three shot which can give you protection when hitting the shots and if people get to close you can throw wall then charge up and then hit them with a one shot slash which sound pretty powerful and inkjet which is good for it because you can charged slash out of recall, the only thing is that inkjet struggle a bit because of pencil and aoe weapons that are good. Overall i am very excited for these weapons and can't wait to play them
I am terrified of the Big Bubbler kit players getting really good at "oh, a player has walked within 20ft of the bubble? KILL THEM" and they fly out of the bubble and delete you in a second. You're just not allowed anywhere near that thing. As for Inkjet, this is the first weapon to ever have this kit! I'm curious and afraid of the "throw wall, activate jetpack, immediately fly up and one-shot you".

Also wall tech instead of ledge peaking is going to be hilarious reversal Context for those that need it: 1)splatana charged slashes can hit multiple people as long as the center of the slash doesn’t make contact, and on the flat hallways we have for maps we could easily hit multiple people at once. 2) Tech exists where you can throw a splash wall on top of ledges that are 1 “block” high, which is a very common height for ledges to be at. Its also the same height of the ledges you can put splashdown fists over
I’d just like to point out how COOL this weapon is. Like, you UNSHEATH THE SWORD and demolish anyone within your giant ass hitbox?? The absurdly long dash forward as you crouch low to the ground??? The animations for it all??? This weapon is so cool, the devs know how to cook a cool main weapon ☺️
I really wish they gave the ink jet, tri zooka, or tri strike on dapple duelies. Because that weapon is my main. It’s unpopular but yeah 😢 it is what it is though
