For anyone wondering about suspension. Burly Brand has stiletto shocks for the Rebel. They increase the height by about 2-3 inches and are 10 times more comfortable. As for the passenger seat and pegs, they’re optional in some countries and come standard in others. But a seat and pegs is available. There are also many windscreens now available and seats as well

I bought the Rebel 1100 DCT a few weeks ago. Only took one ride to get used to the automatic transmission. At 6’5” 300lbs it’s surprisingly comfortable and more than capable. For some reason, the Japanese manufactures tend to be very slow with change. There’s alot of room for improvement in the different style markets (cruisers and Adventure Bikes for example) but it seems like they only change something every like 7-10 years. The Honda Shadow phantom is a good looking cruiser but gah damn is it underpowered for its weight. And it’s basically technology-less. For almost $9K, I think you’d basically only buy it for looks.

Honda can sometimes disappoint. They play it too safe these days whether it's model offerings or power output. They always seem to design a really awesome engine and then dial the power back to the point that it feels like it's nerfed. At Honda's peak, they were putting out some really cool and exciting bikes. They're like a really really good vanilla ice cream. Awesome but it's still vanilla.

@Real_MisterSir

Honestly, I believe that "cruiser" is a mindset more than a type of motorcycle. The thing is that traditional "cruiser" motorcycles kinda force you to adapt that mindset whether you want to or not, and I can imagine that the Rebel 1100 isn't like that because you aren't forced into the cruising riding style if you don't want to. I think the Rebel 1100 is for people who know what it feels like to ride spirited/fast, but also want a bike that is comfortable cruising along even at a lower pace than what the speed limit suggests. It's a bike for people who want that duality - NOT for people who wonder if they could be won over by the traditional cruiser riding style in favor of what they are coming from.
@richardahola692

I have seen old naked Gold Wings being called cruisers. Just a name. I liked the 1100 Rebel as soon as I saw it. Plenty of power for anything. Single seat, nice luggage rack (available) and really nice styling. Bigger fuel tank would be nice.

What you think about a little bit of off-road on this motorcycle? not in the kind of big stones and all that stuff, no, I mean with off-road something like a dirt road, probably a few stones but nothing critical Thank you also for sharing your opinion, was really helpful for me Ride safe!
@Real_MisterSir
@Real_MisterSir Год назад
@@MirdenLayra It's not really built for it out of the gate, so what I'd be most cautious about is the suspension and how prolonged bumpiness will travel to your spine (or rattle something loose (tho I wouldn't expect it). Positives is that it has a long wheelbase and will be easier to manage if the rear tyre starts slipping out. If you have a pair of knobby tires on it, I'm sure it would fare decent for a street bike. Only real concern is that suspension setup and the fact that you can't really stand on the footpegs while riding if a patch gets particularly rough. TLDR; smooth gravel/dirt roads is probably just fine with a pair of grippy tires :) Cheers,
@MirdenLayra

@@Real_MisterSir To start, first I want to say thank you so much, you are in the group of the few persons that take a time to reply to ppl like me that have some doubts about something, and I really appreciate that The reason of my question was because I been searchin for so many years (3-4) a motorcycle that could have all the purposes... A motorcycle that you could go on a far away travel, that could be perfect on the city, and that could be good (not like a dirt bike or something, nothing critical) on off-road ways... The one that I think it's more near to that objective for me, probably is the super tenere of yamaha, but for city? idk... I'm not sure... A Harley Davidson? Idk... I want your personal opinion, I'll be glad to read your personal recommendation with all your experience in the field cheers and ride safe brother! 🏍

@@MirdenLayra It sounds like what you're in need of is a blend between retrolike looks and all-round capability and also go on some long (and maybe a bit rough) trips. May I ask what price class of bike you're looking at? Is your budget high-end, mid-end, or low-end? (Harley = mid/high end). This info would help narrow down the options :) Cheers,

You can get the headlight faring for these that look very similar to the Harley styling, if that's your thing. Me personally i love the "murdered out" in all black looks. But, yes i could see a few chromed out pieces making it look even better, just a few pieces though. I test rode it and OMG it's a dream ride if you ask me. No more thinking about shifting, just plug n' play riding with ALL focus on the scenic views of your ride. I loved it more and more by the minute. I actually fell in love with this bike immediately like none other I have ever ridden. I can't wait to get mine next week. Think you should be clear that the pillion seat (with pegs) is a factory option with 3rd party choices as well. Sure, everything is a little hard to get right now, but answering "there are no passenger accommodations" doesn't seem like the right answer either.

I want a Rebel 1100 so bad. Just got a bike again, and was only spending $3.5k-$4k. Ended up with a VStar 1300, which I love, and most of my riding is highway miles to work and back... But I'm missing the quickness and lightness of my sport bike days. Hopefully in a few years I can pick up a used one for that same $4k range.

I shared some of these annoyances until I learned how to use the DCT. I find I now ride using mostly the sport mode and shifting manually; or using the drive mode and using the downshifting switch if needed. Know that it's a learning transmission, so the best thing you can do is shift manually so it can learn your shifting characteristics, so it does take time with a brand new bike. I'd like to know what windshield that is. Nice!

@michelerosendale5367
@michelerosendale5367 2 года назад
@@TheDantedrake oh they will fit but will they be comfortable? Probably not really. As cruisers go the passenger pillion is a seat pad. Some Corbin seats like the Gunfighter has a bigger cushion. Also, for some of the bigger, heavier riders, the front end is kinda light on this bike. Not sure how well the handling is with a passenger. Overall, this is a fairly small bike (not in cc's but in frame and suspension) so if you love your passenger and expect them to ride with you a lot, I would do them a favor and consider a different bike to be completely honest. If it's an occasional passenger, go for it.

@@ameda28 I put on a reach seat and just had the shop turn the handlebars down towards the tank as low as they go without hitting it. Bike is light and most impfor short riders it is also very skinny to straddle.

I want to express my heartfelt gratitude for sharing this video! Currently, I'm the proud owner of a BMW F750 GS, but my height has led me to contemplate the possibility of transitioning to a Rebel 1100. I must say, I'm genuinely enamored with the advanced electronics and the unparalleled comfort that my BMW offers. I'm well aware that these two bikes cater to entirely different riding experiences, and I can't help but wonder if the switch might feel like a substantial downgrade. Most of my riding consists of daily commutes and the occasional 1-2 hour rides, but I do have a penchant for embarking on 2-3 day trips. Can the Rebel 1100 accommodate such adventures? For context, I stand at 165 cm (approximately 5 feet 5 inches) and weigh 64 kg (about 141 pounds). Your insights on these considerations would be greatly appreciated.

I really wish it had belt drive. It seems like the perfect everyday commuter, weekend canyon carver, and capable of long term trips too with the accessories. Definitely considering this bike as an all arounder (other than dirt) but the aftermarket needs to pick up with a seat, forward ctrls maybe, taller bars to make it big guy comfy.
