With all the places you've stayed, will you PLEASE do a video on cheap, but still nice places to stay? I don't stay in my room much anywhere I go and I know on average rooms are usually around 100/125$ with the resort fees weekdays. But I'd be curious to see what your top 5-10 nice cheaper rooms on the strip are. I've seen some of your rooms and they're so gorgeous but I know I wouldn't really be in there that much.

The Strat itself is dope. The immediate surrounding area, not so much. Don't stray to the side streets and you'll be fine.

@@islandlifeforever I was told by both hotel staff and uber drivers to not walk around behind The Strat and the surrounding streets around the casino. Especially at night. That if I was going out to the main strip during the evening, to take an uber. No exceptions. And if I was going out walking during the day, to walk on Las Vegas blvd, and that was it. I didn't have any problems, and I never felt in danger, but I also didn't test it. Also, there's just not a lot to do immediately around The Strat. It's sort of just out there by itself. You won't want to just wander around. Trust me.

@@OnlyOneNights lol las Vegas is not that dangerous it's about as dangerous as the jersey shore or Miami...the strat is within walking distance of a t shirt store a diner gas station the sahara resorts world Circus circus and a Denny's

Wow! Looks like The Strat found its way into the 21st century! When I visited there 20 years ago, it was so tired and old I couldn't figure out how they would ever survive with the newer hotels at the time that opened. Now that Resorts World is gaining steam and reviving the north end of the strip, more people will probably give Strat more business too.

Great video Ruby. In my opinion The Strat is the most unique property on the Las Vegas Strip. The Strat Tower is still the tallest structure in Vegas and is one of the tallest in the nation. The night view from the lounge and the deck are just incredible and you are missing out if you don't experience it on your Vegas trip. Loved the thumbnail too.

Tallest observation deck in the United States! I like the strat in the summer, the pool on the 24th floor actually is open at night as a bar venue and most pools close by 6 or 7 to get you to the casino and the shows.

The Strat being the last "true" casino on the strip, that is actually in Las Vegas. The other casinos on the strip are part of a different area which is called, Paradise. To please the touristic industry, they name it Las Vegas but locals know. That's how I found out.

Jumped off the strat. It was the most thrilling experience I ever had. The room was really great I had. There is a infamously bad tower though that the rooms were drop dead awful and a sharp contrast to the rest of the property. As far as distance, yeah the monorail at Sahara runs to Mgm grand and the price is so cheap and it runs late soooo So it’s definitely workable!

The Strat was the first casino I stayed at in Vegas over a decade ago. Back then I paid like $35 all in pre-resort fees. If you don't mind catching the Duece to visit the rest of the strip I would stay there again.

One of our favorite places to stay when we need an affordable trip. We first stayed there 3.5 years ago when our son turned 21 and had an excellent time. Utilizing the monorail at Sahara saves on Uber $$.

That was the last place I stayed pre Pandemic! We loved it except the far distance. Loved the bars, slots, pool, Brunch with endless champagne and the observation deck!

I used to stay in the Stratosphere alone from Scotland. I loved it you can also get buses up and down the strip and the bus stops are quieter than further down. The only reason I stopped staying here was the sketchy area outside x

DO NOT GO TO THIS HOTEL. This was one of the worst experiences I have ever had. 1st they had the water cut off for 4 hours. 2nd they over charged my card after stating that they would accommodate me for the inconvenience FOR THE WATER BEING SHUT OFF. 3rd I had to get a new room key every time I left MY ROOM . 4th They are RUDE AND LIARS. 5TH NEVER CLEANED MY ROOM. 6TH THE POOL WAS ONLY OPEN FOR UNTIL 5PM. 7TH YOU WILL BE GREETED BY CRACK HEADS AND DRUG USERS WHEN GETTIN GOUT OF YOUR CAR TO GO CHECK IN. 8TH THE HOTEL IS FACING A condemned building in which the homeless has taken over. 9th the Strat Café servers was rude and not helpful or wanting to do their job.10TH THEY HAVE YOUNG GIRLS IN WHICH ARE SELLING THEMSELVES TO ANYONE THAT WILL PAY. YES, young girls selling themselves to tourist . They walk all floors and the casino all DAY AND NIGHT. I am waiting to hear back from someone at Their Corp office to respond. If not i will write a review EVERYDAY TO ASSURE THAT EVERYONE THAT IS considering to go this hotel will re- think it.. I DO NOT RECOMMEND THIS HOTEL TO HUMAN. Glad you had a good time. We always liked the Stratosphere even before the remodel - the dark, open casino was always appealing to me. The rooms are on the smallish side, but well-priced and between the thrill rides and modest-priced shows, there is lots to do.

This is the perfect place if you're budget minded and you're going to be using The Duece for transportation. Unlike the other strip hotels, it's a short ride to downtown. Unlike the downtown hotels, it's a short ride to the strip.

You can get a 1 day Bus pass on The Duece. You can take it up and down the Strip and it even takes you to Downtown. I've stayed at the Strat years ago. I like the Hotel. Thank You for what you do!

This place looks like a lot of fun. The sky jumping, shows, kind of a space needle type restaurant. I never really thought much about this hotel but it seems pretty cool and affordable.

Stayed there in 2016, it was pretty great for the price. I walked the Strip mostly, didn't really stay at the hotel much. I was told by hotel staff as well as pretty much every vendor on the Strip to avoid the side streets and the rear of the hotel, but other than that, I have no complaints about my stay there. Nice room, clean, and it seemed like the place as a whole was pretty well updated. At $30 bucks a night, I wasn't expecting that much, but it was a really nice place, even the "budget" rooms were pretty nice and clean.

I was there in 2016 as well! I agree with what you said. We just used the hotel to skeep and spent our time on The Strip. We paid $27 for the room!

@@Twobarpsi , I honestly didn't have any problems in or around the hotel, nor on the Strip. I was pleasantly surprised that the hotel room was really nice, especially for the price. It was a standard room, but it was as nice or nicer than rooms I have paid triple the price for. As far as the issues with the area behind or surrounding the hotel, I again didn't have any trouble. I never traveled too far off the Strip near the Strat, but I traveled off the Strip plenty near Circus Circus, which honestly seemed way more sketchy than around the Strat, and again, no problems. That's not to say that trouble couldn't happen in those areas, but I certainly didn't have that experience. Now I do know that behind the Strat there's quite the junkie population, but I didn't venture off the Strip far enough I guess. Like with everywhere you go, exercising a certain level of caution and being aware of your surroundings can mitigate a ton of issues. Usually if you don't act a fool, or go into places that give you a bad feeling, you're going to be fine.

@@dennisaugustine6544 Roxy's Diner was so good and the service was outstanding. MY wife has Celiac disease and they were very accommodating her special needs. We had breakfast there the whole time we stayed at the Strat and no matter who worked that day, same very good service.

My wife and had our 25th anniversary there. Phenomenal!. We both had the filet mignon and sides. They bought out some ice cream that was dipped in chocolate with an edible "Happy Anniversary" label on it. They treat you right at the Strat.

The Strat was a freaking DUMP when I went a few years ago, but now it looks so AWESOME! The parking lot and surrounding area is very rough so definitely use uber to travel somewhere. I will have to revisit again :)

Thank you for sharing. We live in MN and have 90% of the time stayed downtown at the Golden Nugget. Been going to LV for over 30 years. Stayed at Paris once. My husband stayed an extra night but I checked out and went to the Nugget. I couldn’t win anything at Paris. I only ate bread and cheese, and crepes. I not big on French food. Stayed at Mirage when it was new. The rooms were nothing special. Didn’t win there either. Stayed at the place across from MGM while it was being built. Not New York, New York not across Las Vegas Blvd. but the side street. Their pool area was also me and had some luck there. My favorite was the Golden Nugget when Steve Wynn owned it back in the day. We’d come out 2-3 x’s a year and I’d win $5 - $10,000 almost every trip. This time thanks to you we are going to try

I was there a couple years ago and the diner had a $3.99 breakfast special and a $5.99 late night burger special. And the food was awesome. The sports bar was great too. Loved the sports book and the casino as well. If you don't mind catching a Lyft to the rest of the strip I would highly HIGHLY recommend this place. Its funny this was posted today because I just got a mailer from them yesterday offering me a room for $17/night between now and March.

Love the Strat. Always have a nice comped suite and limo which lets me live like the other half and feel like a million bucks. Their gaming is great and they have fantastic slot tournaments.

The Strat was where I stayed during my only trip to Vegas. I wouldn't really call it on the strip, ok technically it is but I remember it costing a $20 taxi cab ride to the heart of Vegas. But I did have a good time there. At the time it was a very good deal compared to hotels like the Bellagio. I didn't mind the room being small. I only slept in it. The rest of the time I was gambling up and down the main part of the strip.

I stay there often, I like the BLVD Suite, it has a nice soaking tub in a huge bathroom. They have Netflix on the TV's, too. We always rent a car so the location isn't an issue & they also offer free valet parking. Great coverage!!

We stay in the Grand suite and like the extra room. We took our adult sons out and it was nice to have a big living room and dining room that we could all gather in and when the drunk men stayed up talking and I went to bed and didn't hear a thing lol

I always enjoy and appreciate your reviews. You and Mr Ruby do a great job of making them together. Thank you so much! Re: the strat's location though, one additional important thing worth mentioning for those who haven't stayed there before, is that unfortunately it is really not located in a safe area to walk around outside the property at night, especially on the western side. Of course absolutely fine inside though, or if willing to uber/lyft or taxi to other areas. On the upside, it's quite a good budget property to stay in for those who wish to do a mix of down-town and the northern half of the strip, seeing as it's about half way between each.

Last time there we went with a couple that had never been to Vegas. Nothing like having to literally step over passed out people, broken glass, and needles to make an impression. All of the tower attractions and shopping, and that was all they remembered…oh and this was broad daylight too!

I love the Strat. You are right about the location being the only bad thing about that hotel and it’s not the best area to go walking at night. I don’t know if they still do this but we went on a time share tour once and the gave us free passes for dinner and a show at the Strat. It was only like an hour long and they gave us the passes even though we didn’t get the time share.

We love to go to Level 107 for happy hour. 2 for 1 drinks, 1/2 price apps. You buy one or 2 of them and that is filling if you do not normally eat big. The roasted red pepper fondue is fab, and you get extra bread. No need for reservations and you take the express up to lounge, so you do not wait in the long line for observation level. Plus after dinner you walk up stairs to the observatiom deck. For the same price as the tickets to the observation deck you can have a great meal with a great view

In-room coffee is the one thing all resorts should do. Hell, I’d even rent one for my stay. My wife stood in line for 45 minutes at MGM back in August.

Stayed there 2 weeks ago Sept 2022, yes to everything in the video, outside is slowly (an uber driver said) being renovated so not so bad had a walk about at night to local dispensaries, as for being out the way, yes it is but an uber to the strip was 10/15 dollars depending on how far down you go 15 bucks got us to t mobile /nyny, definitely stay there again

Top of the World was a fantastic way to end my first trip to Vegas. The meal was the best that I’ve had in a while. To this day, I still dream of my meal (which was the Sea Bass). Truly amazing!

We got engaged at the top of the world, at the exact same time as the shooting… there were so many helicopters flying by, we saw them shutting down the blvd, had no idea why. Our waitress’ husband was a cop on the scene sending her pictures…she recorded our proposal And was so incredible even under all the stress. Very surreal night. We were stuck there in the lobby until 3am.

DO NOT try their budget room. I did that once thinking why not and I ended up taking bed bugs home. I left my backpack on the bed and that’s where they crawled in. The room is worse than motel 6. Do not do it please! Cheap room ended up costing me over $1k in damages. 🤦🏽‍♀️

June 2022, reached strat at 12:30 am, stood in the check in line and finally got my room at 6:45 am. Yes ! we stood in the check in line for 6 hours. NEVER ever staying here even if that does not happen anymore. It is also such a dump.

Stayed at the the strat in 2021. I had a great time and great experience. The pool was shut down as some one decided to have an accident inside. I would stay there once more and would recommend it to anyone looking to save a few bucks.

The now strat was the place I stayed the first time in vegas...this was about 15 years ago...been to Vegas a bunch of time since! I love the renovation! It's night and day in comparison.

stayed at the sahara and walked to the strat in the daytime ..the tower was a great view

just stayed at the strat room 24008, basic room but I had a good view, had lots of fun too

Hey it’s Julie and Tony from Columbus, we ran into you on your trip the other day, we love the four nights at the Strat also our room was a lot smaller than yours in this video but never the less we did not mind it at all we did take the bus a lot, so I agree I love your review

We followed up with two nights at the Cosmo just because we go where the comps are when we are there , keep the videos coming we just love watching them!

Just came across your site. I lived in Summerlin for 9 yrs ….. No travel plans to go back anytime soon, I just like watching some of the places you go to- kinda makes me wish I did more touristy stuff when I lived there 🤷🏻‍♂️❕❔ I like that you don’t over-hype anything that you are doing in the land of smoke and mirrors 🤨…. Definitely digging your videos…. Very down to earth and cool vibe …… will subscribe for sure 👌🏻❗️❗️❗️

Great video Ruby! I agree that the Strat is a really great bargain, but that the location is the pits! We must have been at Top of the World on a bad day. We had terrible service, and several of the food items we ordered were really awful. But the view, oh that view!
