19km/liter city driving and 28km/liter on the expressway… i think this is its biggest strength considering Toyota is at least two decades ahead of other companies in hybrid engine development
Very nice review sir levi. I like the fact that you didn't sugar coat the negative aspects, particularly the price vs. features. Just an unbiased review from a consumer perspective. I'm eyeing this zenix as our next family car. Better check other options. Keep it up sir! 👍
Simple ang presentation but very informative. I like how unbiased you are. that's why i always watch your videos even after watching other car reviewers kasi palagi ako may makukuhang info whether it be a pro or con regarding sa kotse. Thank you, sir!
Very well said Levi. though the hybrid system of this mpv is yet to be tested in the next 3 to 5yrs. Im not certain abt the cost of maintainance that goes along. The price is too high. I would rather pick montero gls or fortuner at that price.
Agree po ako sya inyo na mag fortuner na lang sa pricepoint. Beside yung mga hybrid technology is still at its juvenille stage so still were blindsided pa din sa maintenance reliability ng battery. Not to mention yung cost for replacement.
The Malaysia variant is 2.4M with a sunroof but no infotainment. The India Hycross (Zenix) is around the same as the PH variant with a sunroof. The Indonesia variant is around 1.8M for the Q and 2M++ for the Modelista variant with all the body kits. The India and Indonesia variant is manufactured in their own country, while the Malaysia and PH variants are not. With the Important additional taxes, the PH dealer decided to remove the sunroof and infotainment instead for the Q, not increase the price by over 2M. They don't want that price range because it will compete with the Mid to Top variant SUVs. So for me, the prices of the PH variant are OK considering tax. Not everyone prefers SUVs, especially if you carry full 8 passengers with seniors. SUVs are known for little room for 3rd room space; that is where an Innova or a Zenix comes into play. If I would buy an SUV, I prefer the Mid to Top variant and not the base model, which competes with the 1.9M price for this Zenix.
I really do not understand how their premium brand Lexus takes full advantage of the hybrid tax incentive while they don't. Almost all the Chinese brand cars are also taking advantage of it using a 1.5L engine that's why they have such a price advantage with so much features.
Thanks sa review, malaki pamilya ko kasi yung center seat naka pilot seat pang 2 person lang. Sana May variant ng diesel na ganyan itsura 😊. Tâma ka sa sinabi mo yung price pang fortuner na. 😊
hybrid = color coding exemption. rather than buying a 2nd car, 1 car na lang that you can use 7 days a week. Very important samin na naghahatid ng bata sa school. I think your question on whether it's worth it or not is really dependent on the use case of the buyer. For us, sulit siya given the reason i stated earlier.
Thank you sir Levi for this Honest review. Planning to buy a new car replacing my adventure Mitsubishi. But unfortunately i was disappointed with Toyota's Zenix model. 1st, super pricey for 1.9M, 2nd, who needs Captain chair better with the tumble one, can accommodate three people in the 2nd row seat. 3rd, in other countries they have features that are not included here in the Philippines why did they remove it? e.g sunroof.... For the price of this, better get an SUV, everest or MUX, I'm 5'9 tall but the 3rd row seat is ok and spacious, so pretty much everybody will be comfortable riding it even if you're an average size adult at the back seat. And Again it's an SUV and diesel... Anyway it's only my opinion.. The choice and money is still yours.. Thanks again sir Levi. Kudos👌
Also, sir Levi, seems you're one of those people who's not yet ready for a change with a Hybrid or full EV car. Change is constant, yes we can be afraid, and people who will buy this know the Pros and Cons.
IMO, looks like pinaghalo halo lang na existing designs nila. Front = Fortuner Side = Corolla Cross/ Rav-4 Back = Rush Height/length = Innova Agree sir on the price point. :)
Sa investment terminoligiea called OPEX and CAPEX. Opex means mura pag bili at mahal sa maintenance. Capex naman mas maha sa pagbili pero mas mura ang maintenace. So hybrids are cheaper interms of operating and low maintenance. Hybrid is going to beneficial esp intraffi. Which is very common sa Pinas. The engine will run when ylu release brake and accelerate. And will also help in you long drives. Less gasoline to use. Free from coding pa as per LTO. Am a diesel owner and close to my 50% na pang down sa Zenix. Again toyota is in Hyvrid tech since 2010 abroad.
Saw the car today and was disappointed with the interior materials used. 2nd row seats would be better if it was tumble and fold. 3rd row space and height are impressive. The ambient light looks like an after thought.
We just saw the Innova Zenix this morning, we were very curious, we though that it is just a super hyped up vehicle. It uses a lot of the hard, cheap looking plastic all over most especially on the doors. The doors are very light which makes you feel like it will ot hold during collissions. The V model is too bare, no one will buy it unless it is intended as a PUV. The Q model supposedly has the "Ottoman" type captain chairs but when you use the foot rest, there is not enough foot / leg space. Even the bottom of the front seats are closed so your feet cannot extend well when seating in 2nd row. Overall, not good value for money.
@@erostyler6226 i don't think you get the point. Your view is too emotional and not judging from previous data. They used to have 2.0 gas before but only sold a fraction of the total sales. Why would they buy a pricey 2.0 than the powerful 2.8 innova or even a 1.5 avanza, expander, ertiga.
They don't expect this thing to sell that much that's why they still sell the old innova. The non-hybrid is there to justify the price of the hybrid version
@@howtosurviveearth Actually this 2 liter engine has been used in some other Toyota cars (almost same as the current Toyota Harrier I was told). The engine is not similar to the old gas engine of the Innova. Our 1st gen Innova's dependability is just amazing, but city driving the thing just feels tiring after awhile. Although for long rides, the diesel engine gives you more torque and peace of mind. Nowadays though, the cost of diesel and gas is not far apart. I agree that even the cost of the 2023 Innova G and Zenix is so close to other SUVs with more features or perks - but the ride height and sort of portability around the city is why a lot of people still prefer the Innova or MPVs. Just my 2 cents. I'm actually planning to buy either the Innova or the Zenix. The Zenix though offers better seating space for the 3rd row than the Innova. Being gas, a quieter ride too.
Here in europe majority of the taxi roaming around are hybrid the battery can last for more the 5 years and taxi drivers said that you can save thousand of money because it consume less fuel.
I'm glad Toyota didn't disappoint here. Toyotang Toyota pa rin: Cheap interior materials, ext. design: Honest value: P800,000 Toyota logo + hybrid: add P1.1m Toyota sheep: Hala pila na!!! Take our money! Mabuhay ang "reliability" and resale value!!! 😂😂😂 Not hatin' on Toyota but they got this country by the bolz. In other markets with buyers who aren't lemmings, they AT LEAST compete with price and features per category.
@@ridewithlevi6418 sana nga po pero dito po samin mabilis lang bumaha kahet kunting ulan lang. sayang nakapaganda pa naman ng innova. Good review sir keep up 👍
Actually sir, tingin ko selling point nitong Zenix is ung hybrid engine. Kung taga metro manila ung buyer, and alam naman natin matraffic dito like in C5, EDSA, etc, kapag ganung stop-start traffic I think magcocompensate doon ung hybrid kasi tatakbo ung hybrid on low speeds. So, I think tingnan natin in the long-run ung ownership experience mula sa magiging owners. Let's give hybrids a chance kasi in fact madami nang hybrids all over the world, ngayon lang tayo nagencourage nito sa philippines. Kasi sa ngayon ung mga tao parang puro hesitations pa eh about hybrids. So tingnan natin
Tandaan natin basta Toyota super tipid sa features na mikikita sa ibang brands for the same price point! Besides, technology wise palagi silang playing catch up sa Korean or Chinese cars!
We've been eagerly awaiting the arrival of this car, but unfortunately, we find ourselves a bit disappointed. The interior color is not to our liking, and as you rightly pointed out, the reclining space is not functional for a tall person. Thank you for this review..
Mahal pero what your buying is the engine technology that goes with it The side design is comparable to that of the Toyota Highlander Mahal pero makakatipid ka sa gas in the long run

Just want to point out Sir Levi the Zenix transmission is not CVT but eCVT. I don't know why they even call it eCVT because the configuration is totally different from the CVT. The eCVT has no metallic belt and the 2 motor generators are directly coupled to the planetary gears. Also the Dynamic Force Engine is very advance engine plus they are also using the latest 5th gen hybrid system. Just the design on mechanical parts makes this car already sulit.
Parang hindi na utilize yung tax incentive para sa hybrid vehicles if na utilize ng toyota siguro hindi 1.9m yung price honestly its a bit of a stretch with that 1.9m price tag
comparing Pinas... meron bang Japanese car manufacturer ang nagtitinda ng same specs, same quality of interior, same quality katulad sa ibang asia countries? ang sagot wala.. kasi mababa tingin nila sa Pinoy at mababa din halaga ng currency natin kaya ganun.

Though much more expensive to produce, there must be a good reason why most EVs are now using Lithium Ion batteries instead of Nickel Metal Hydride batteries which powers the hybrid system of this Toyota MPV. At P1.9M+ the Zenix Hybrid is OVERPRICED considering the competition is just as well equipped if not better.
mas maganda ang nickel lalo na sa cycle life , pangit din ang Lithium ion sa tropical country kase weakness ng lithium ang init. pansin mu mga battery ng mga cp na lithium mabilis mag degrade.
The Malaysia variant is 2.4M with a sunroof but no infotainment. The India Hycross (Zenix) is around the same as the PH variant with a sunroof as well. @@PromotedGossiper Can you explain further as to your claim of the lithium ion battery as "panget sa tropical country?" Can you cite studies that would support your claim? The new Toyota Prius with Lithium Ion battery is forthcoming to the Philippines. What can you say about that?
Agree with your sentiments. Dealer said 8 year warranty on battery that has 10 year life and 3 years on car. NiMH battery costs 180K now. Also better to understand the Specifics on what battery and car issues that are considered under warranty or not. RESALE VALUE maybe an issue after 5 yrs or more when buyer may possibly replace the battery.
Finally, Toyota is stepping up in terms of aesthetics..maganda n rin ang interiors nya.. Yun lang..parang overpriced na naman.. Nice detailed review as always Prof👍👍

Akala ko may panoramic roof sya. Wala pala. Sinabi ba nila ang current sales nyang Q Variant? What i mean, kung may waiting list kung kukuha ka ngayon?
For me it's all worth the price of all the features including being Hybrid KSI WALANG coding up to 2030 BUT but HOWEVER the instance is NO! NO! NO! in Philippine NCR driving Because of FLOODED street of NCR.. that's why's we all settled for SUV of higher ground clearance
