Is the updated 2020 Mazda CX-9 a GOOD or GREAT 3-row SUV? 

Just bought one for my wife. Tested X5, CLE, Jaguar and the Macan......... guess what? This is the one she loved. I’m fine with it.

Has all the luxury feels, without the luxury price! I’m sold, this will be my next mom car lol

I agree with you 1000000% on the wheel wells being body colored for it to be more elegant. I purchased this car right b4 the new yr vs the gc limited x I was considering. You gave me the incentive to go cx9 and can’t be happier thus far. It has its gripes, but man this suv drives like a sports car and sooo smooth.

We can’t have a pano sunroof on the CX-9 because: 1. The curve of the roof, and the fact that the roof sheet metal gets more narrow as you move to the rear-ergo on a pano on this vehicle, the moveable section and the opening area would have to be smaller than it is now. 2. A pano roof would add 400 lbs minimum to a vehicle which already weighs 4600 lbs with all wheel drive. It would sway too much in curves-would be top heavy. That’s what the CX-9 engineer told me at the Detroit Auto Show. I have a 16 model Signature that I use for Uber XL. It has been flawless. Most comfortable third row seats in the class, and even above the next couple of classes too.

There is a fog lamp, it’s the little circle in the bottom trim where the chrome trim meets

You are misinformed about the heads up display. It displays the speed limit, blind spot monitor, cruise control, lane keep assist, and GPS turn directions.

Believe it or not there is AC in the third row. It’s under the 2nd row seats and you have to turn the feet air on.

Just got my 2020 cx9, absolutely love it. Rides smoothly, super convenient with kids. Only take away is the small trunk, probably could fit 4 bags of groceries without the 3rd row down.

Great review as always ... one thing nobody ever mentions is whether this driving position feels like your driving a Subaru Outback or more of a higher up feeling like a SUV like a montero or gx460. It looks more like a Subaru driving position / feel.

My brother is 6'6", and had one of these, as a rental, while visiting Michigan, while up from Florida, recently. Quite impressive vehicle, and he seemed to fit comfortably in it. Much better, rear quarter windows, compared to your recent Acura MDX.

Joe you need to check the a/c in the middle of a Tampa Bay summer to see how quickly the 3rd row cools off.

I have a 2017 metallic grey SUV i have the touring package with leather seats, Its a great car mazda has really stepped up their game in the terms of reliability and looks! Its a fun driver!!!! happy with my purchase make sure you have the Bose package or else your not going to be happy with the sound system

Can you do a comparison which SUV is better from 2020 Mazda Cx5 Cx9 and the 2020 Acura RDX. I’m trying to decide which one to get 😩 is tough decisions!!

There are low profile LED fog lamps above the lower chrome trim- the interior trim is all aluminum- not plastic- the heads up display shows blind spot info, speed, speed limit on current road, navigation directions, lane departure warnings as well as the following distance indicator and adaptive cruise control- don’t zonk a car for lack of specs that are there when you didn’t know.

$42k for this vehicle is outstanding. You have some RAV4s that cost that much and the higher end RAV4s seats are fake leather. Are you sure about that price Joe? White is not my color but at that price I’d even purchase a white CX-9. Excellent video once again!! This vehicle is an excellent purchase.

to me this is the best suv out there.right now.its a work of art.drives like a sports sedan.the bose sound is amazing better than alot of competitors out there.i don't agree with any of those zonks.whats so big about a frameless mirror.can break easier.

It's a great vehicle, before we bought our pathfinder last yr, I tried my hardest to get the wife to look closely at the cx9. She really wanted an infinity qx60 but realized that it's not worth the extra 20 grand over the pathfinder. The Mazda and the pathfinder are cheaper than the rest but both are great for be price. We paid $40,000 for our pathfinder platinum. Sure it's missing android auto and car play, but as if said, for that price fully loaded it's hard to beat.

This is actually the best crossover SUV out there. Mazda did outstanding job with this car.

the fogl amp is right below the area you think it should be....It's tiny, but it's a fog lamp.

You ran you finger right by the LED fog light that you said it didn't have.

Fogs are way down in the bottom corner edges. Was looking at one trying to be different but having mixed feelings.

I wish it was just a bit bigger. the wife's Ford edge is about the same size and it's a 2 row crossover.if I'm buying an SUV I want that third row and a decent cargo area. I wonder how this compares to the Chevy traverse,at least there you still get an optional v6 probably just about the same fuel economy.

I live in Arizona and can't..... I CAN NOT not have rear AC ...... Too bad I love the Mazda line.... I drove a Mazda 5.....and never gave me a problem.....talk about reliable vehicle....if it had rear AC I would have picked one up.....

Joe, these Mazda's do not look back at all. I am getting RDX soon but this is not bad at all. I could see my self cruising in Mazda blasting Iron Maiden or Judas Priest lol.

Change tires to sticker like I did and even FWD applies torque so much better than these stock Falkens.... 3rd row is almost never used so no AC is ok for us.

Warning to buyers. I just purchased mine a few months back with only 20k miles and there has been a bunch of concerns approaching already. We've had to replace 1 side mirror motor because it didn't fold out sometimes, we've also had to replace 1 rear strut due it failing prematurely. After getting the car back from the dealership, I'm already starting to hear wheel bearing issues coming from the passenger side. Im very confused to why the car is so new yet has so many issues already.

No fog lamps for me. I find them useless. I hope that engine was warmed up before you got in it.
