Hay I'm a 1st year medical student and I'm planning for USMLE so I'm working on my foundational sciences.i have 5 months left in my 1st year and I have more then 80% of the sayllabus Left which I have to cover in these 5 months so my question is is it possible for me to cover mbbs 1st year syllabus in these 5 months? And which recourses you would like to recommend me ? The following unit's I have to do in thse 5 months Anatomy: 1) abdomen and pelvis 2) head and neck 3) neuroanatomy Physiology: 1) CVS physiology ( heart + circulation) 2) body fluids and kidney 3) neurophysiology 4) endocrinology + reproductive physiology. Biochemistry: 1) lipds ( genrel + metabolism) 2) protein ( metabolism only) 3) vitamins 4) storage and expression of genetic information Embryology: 1) systemic embryology ( whole) Histology: Systemic ( whole). I don't know how to cover this amount of syllabus in 5 months only and sometimes I confused that weather is it possible for me to cover this huge amount of syllabus in 5 months. Please giver me some tips. I'm using the following textbooks 1) gyton and Hall for physiology 2) grays anatomy 3) Lippincott for biochemistry 4) langman for embryology 5) liaq Hussain ( our local textbook) for histology What you think that is it possible for someone to cover this amount of syllabus in 5 months only? Specially if he planning for USMLE in Future?

Hey doctor, I don't feel the zeal and enthusiasm of practicing medicine. Like, i know, I've to study, i know that i have to be dedicated, but i just can't do it or don't do it. Shall i change my career or continue medicine? By the way, i am 20 yr old, gave neet 2024, waiting for results to clear out. Can't drop anymore, if i don't get a government seat.

It's okay to feel uncertain. Reflect on what excites you and where your passions lie. If medicine isn't fulfilling, exploring other career paths might be a good idea. It's important to pursue what truly motivates you.

I took a drop for neet pg this year, I am a 2017 batch mbbs student. If i start this year, can I justify my drop years and is it possible? The only thing that is holding me back is that it takes so long to get in, like neet pg - if you do it 3 years and its done - the pg. But usmle is too long the preparation thing.

Hey I was on the same boat as you.I took a drop FOR neet pg.Slowly I realised that I didn’t want to do pg from India.I was also 2017 batch.I did have an interest towards usmle during college days but eventually dropped the idea after internship.After a break of 12 months,I joined as a non academic JR in general medicine at a private med colg and I have started to prepare myself for step 1.The only thought that is keeping me up is that we have only one life so why not follow what we love.

@@MaikentoAnd here i thought i was the only one confused as hell regarding what to do. Many are in the same boat dam and it's only gonna get tougher from here on out. The hardest part is deciding whether or not to go for it. That's the hard part not the steps involved. If only we could know that it's gonna work out. It's so dam costly so that mkaes it hard to jump to conclusions

Do you have any assurance that once you get into a residency you will be able to fullfill the course or you can be fired anytime in the course if the authority wants to? And do any fmg anytime feel lonely/insecured there? And after finishing residency is there sufficient job available....I mean will it be easy to find a job as an attending? Will be grateful if you reply each of the questions
@ApurvaPopat
@ApurvaPopat 9 дней назад
Entering a residency program typically offers a good level of security, provided you maintain satisfactory performance and adhere to professional standards. For foreign medical graduates (FMGs), it's common to feel isolated or insecure at times due to cultural and language barriers, but there are often support systems and communities in place to help. Upon completing residency, job prospects are generally favorable, though the ease of finding a position as an attending can depend on your specialty and location.

Hey Dr apurva .. i am done with my step 1 and preparing for step 2 at present .. I could relate to almost everything you talked about in your video ..Honest and realistic discussion unlike some other channel which focus on passing steps just in 3 months or 5 months while it is taking 1 year for some students and it just get depressing sometimes and puts many students in a feeling that they are lagging behind ! Good effort doc! Just want a suggestion that while i am preparing for my step 2 , how important it is on my part to work along with my preparation to fill up my gap ? Does it really matter ? Being a mother of a 2 yr old it is difficult for me to work alongside my prep. . Is this gonna effect my match ?

What about the visa in a long term? i know residency will be sponsered and hospital sponsers...but what about after 5-10 yrs....it takes 15 yr+ for green card according to current line....then itll be a long time till permanent residence right?

In the long term, while sponsored residency provides stability, getting a green card can take many years. Renewing visa when you apply for job may be a reasonable option.
