You can give you opinion saying you like Sonet better, not an issue as it is your personal preference. But disregarding the safety rating all together with an excuse that “i will try to become a better driver” is childish nonsense. You also have a responsibility to encourage companies to not cut corners on safety. A person minding his own business and walking on a footpath can also be involved in an accident. You cant make others become a better driver

Just one statement i would respectfully disagree is the safety statement that you gave, its not always your perception towards safety that saves you, a lot of time other might be at fault, which will lead you to a crash , safe car always helps you there. As a big automobile RU-vidr, rather than defending the poor built quality of cars, you should have pointed that out, so that viewers can have an unbiased take. If the safety was just a driving behaviour thing then the developed countries wouldn’t have been so strict about it. Please make responsible decisions so that the indian automakers also prioritise this.

Tech is not the basics you need in the car. First things first A good engine, Safety and a good ride quality. Probably the biggest reason i would go for xuv is the ride quality vs sonet

Just a gentle reminder. Not everyone buys the top spec variant costing 15-16Lakhs. Most sales comes from mid spec variants. So try to compare those. And also disregarding safety with niceness😂, I would like to see you survive a crash in a nice car rather than a 5star safety rating car.

Feel good features preferred over safety... And topping it up with "I'll rather become a safer driver" !??? So you can avoid incidents like another vehicle hitting yours while you have parked or simply crossing the street on a green signal but someone decided to jump red light at relatively high speed. Posting on a commercial channel and quoting "My personal opinion" then defending that. Every single one of you represent Powerdrift if it's posted on the channel. Sorry, with all the respect - the comparison is not making much sense here. Because Sonet has the best premium features or the luxury car feel but it also misses out the major feature like sunroof, ADAS and most important safey rating. On the other hand, 3X0 does not have ventilated seats, power adjusting driver seat but it has come newly this year and it has come with a bang with plenty of features. I still would perfer 3X0 over sonet as of today.

Let's be logical, you need a family car, a car that allows 3 people to sit "Comfortably" in the rear row, safety and features that are good to have. Go for the AX5, IMO best value for money variant with the segment best engine and one more thing, support Indian brands if you can.

Also the after sales service is impeccable of Kia. I purchased the HTX 7DCT variant and I am Fully satisfied with the performance.

3XO white interior looks airy & spacious, Sonet dark interior feels claustrophobic & suffocation. But 3XO bootspace gayi tel lene..😅

Just to add context to MOST OF REPUTED REVIEWERS, they are mostly given the top end variants of every new launched vehicle so as to give their own take to the best of company's offerings. Overall the ordinary middle class man goes on to get updates from these reviewers (just to clear, i am not criticising them for their reviews as they are only giving us points based on the vehicle models they have been given to test) and try to make decisions based on the choices offered by top end variants of vehicles. However adding on to that, people who actually want to purchase a new vehicle can only get fair idea about general dynamics of a vehicle atleast for the initial phase till the time deliveries start and other reviewers like DDS and others which offers ownership reviews to give more proper picture on what the average customer is facing.

i see everyone is bashing Karan over his statement about safety, but honestly he has a point. Sure, safety is paramount, and sometimes when you get in an accident it's not your fault. But defensive driving exists, and it's not like sonet is a 0 star car. IMO, it's better to be a safe driver in a 3 star car (or more since Sonet facelift was never tested) than to be an overconfident driver in a 5 star car.

Here's what I do not understand you guys know all too well that just a tiny fraction of all buyers go for the highest variant, and time and time again thats the variant you guys choose to test and compare completely ignoring the fact that about 80% of the buyers go for the mid variants. You also know all too well with the above two cars specifically that at the mid variant levels the 3XO is more value for money and u have the 5 star rating coupled with that. I think when you mentioned Premium feel for the sonet some premium perfumed used in the sonet must have knocked you off your senses!

Focusing on gimmicky things and giving brownie points to Sonet for these over actual car features like engine, transmission, handling and safety is not what a automotive channel is supposed to do. I test rode the MX3 and HTK optional a day apart and man the 3xo’s driving experience and torque felt so amazing! Sonet 1.2 engine is very dull and don’t have any character.

How can you ignore safety?? We took a test drive of Sonet. The back was rattling whenever we passed over rough or uneven roads. We could hear the rattling sound. The vehicle was very light. It didn’t give the SUV feel at all. Rather an oversized hatchback with loaded features. Took Nexon test drive & the vehicle was heavy, rugged & there was no rattling at the back.

Imagine you working on really becoming a safer driver yourself but a drunk drivers hits you head on. I am sure those skill shall save!!!

People who don't wear seat belts on both front or rear seats should not be talking about safety ratings. Because no amount of stars in ratings can save them without seatbelts.

Sonet has very poor rear seats, level 1 ADAS , a questionable DCT (I test drove the new Sonet - and I felt nothing like this reviewer mentioned, it felt like a faster AMT to be honest). I am yet to test drive the 3XO , but no way it comes off worse in this comparison. May I add that the top end sonet weirdly gets only WIRED Android Auto and Apple Carplay? If you are a consumer please prioritise safety and comfort in a car rather than tech. Safe chassis and seat space cannot be upgraded once the car is brought.

Phew! Looks like everyone are going crazy with ncap and safety. So many facts have to be considered in an accident, what if your airbags doesnt deploy, mahindra will easily escape telling direction of the impact was not towards crash sensor, low impact collisions so airbags dint deploy, company will find loop holes as mahindra has done with few cases. We have seen Cyrus Mistry's Mercedes, kerala skoda octavia crash killed the occupant, Even Range Rovers for that matter have similar cases. Most important thing of all is your " TIME ", if it has to happen it "WILL" at any cost. If TIME is good, even in Wagon R ull be alive, if time is showing its back on you, even armoured vehicle can be coffin boxes.

People are very much concerned about safety, I hope they follow the traffic rules laid down in India and wear helmet while in two wheelers. 😅 But mostly these same category of people purchase those so called 5 star cars and create nuisance in the road. Hence I think they are the critical safety concerns for general public.

Personally I don't see NCAP ratings to be a dealbreaker. It's good to have a vehicle with good NCAP ratings but while buying any vehicle you look at the whole package the vehicle is offering not just NCAP ratings. Just because a vehicle has good ratings it doesn't make it a default choice or right for everyone.

This time I will definitely say It's a clear win for Mahindra XUV 3XO. No hate for other rivals like Nexon, Venue N-line & Sonet But XUV beats them all in every department! Priced really well Best safety Best features Most powerful What more can you ask for !?
