I've talked about this on my channel and other aspects of the Internet numerous of times. though this issue is quite blatant, the conversation tends to only stay within the POCLGBT side of the community. So thank you for branching out and using your reach to bring the conversation to ones that have the privilege not to acknowledge it. It's very appreciative.

i don't know why some white gay guys get the idea that gay people can't be racist. You can be gay and racist. And racism under the name of "preference" is still racism, period. Racism takes place in many forms, you don't even have to be a KKK member to be a racist.

@marc3498

I guess white gay guys get this idea because gays are a minority and they experienced frequently struggles with narrow-minded people. Just like skin color people. So they hope gay guys can easily relate to people of color and not to be racist...
@ReallyRick

Preference is NOT racism! I can't help the fact I am not sexually aroused by black or Asain men. That is an inherent as being gay itself.
@gulag0
@gulag0 8 лет назад
Except it is not inherent. So it just happens that "inherently" most people prefer white guys? How come people can see all these different types and shades of white guys but all asian guys get put in one box, all black guys in another? They are not all the same, don't look all alike, nor act the same way. Our preferences are molded by images we see everyday (magazines, movies, advertising, etc) and by our interactions. If you live (and we do) in a racist society, that is going to affect your preferences. Once you understand and accept that, you may be able to change. If you don't want to change, I understand, it's confortable to not think about race, to not think about prejudice, and finding excuses for racist behaviours is easier than confronting them. But if you want so much to defend that "preference" and keep only dating/hooking up with white guys, there is absolutely no need to advertise "no blacks, no asians, no fats, no whatever". You can choose not to be that much of a dick, if you're not interested in someone who sends you a message or hits on you, you can simply ignore or you can say you're not interested in a polite manner (as in: not involving the person's race), just as you probably do with other white guys that don't fit your "standards".

@@harshnemesis they're doing it because of the lack of representation for poc, not because they don't want white people in movies. The same cannot be said of that prince of Persia movie, which lacked any Persians (which is what put me off seeing it).

@@ShrewdEmpath Oh I though I was watching movies for interesting story and great acting, but no apparently I only cared about the inclusion checklist and virtue signaling, oh wait no I don't. You leftists need to stop ruining the every movie franchise. The forced feminism and lgbt in movies makes terrible movies that nobody wants to watch. Ghostbusters is great example of that, people from 90s wanted another sequel so bad and when they finally delivered it, there was no original cast, instead we got a feminist flick complete with unfunny jokes, cringe and special effects that look worse than the ones in the original movies from 80s.
@ShrewdEmpath
@ShrewdEmpath 5 лет назад
@@harshnemesis if a film is obviously unrealistic in some way, then that can be a problem. I don't expect every film to be about certain demographics. But why wouldn't you want a film to reflect the reality of society at times? If a film is not aiming to be representative of real life in different ways, doesn't that kind of defeat the object of the good acting you're talking about? You are free to watch films with only white straight cis male actors though, if that's your priority.
@harshnemesis
@harshnemesis 5 лет назад
@@ShrewdEmpath No I don't care. The diversity and inclusion is literally the last thing I would ever care for in movies. That isn't the reason why I watch the movies, that's the reason why sjws watch the movies But if you want movies to reflect the reality of society, then that what holywood is doing now is extremely inaccurate. Blacks are the minority and so are the gays, but they are the majority in movies these days. Besides acting isn't representing the reality exactly what it is, acting is doing something or being something who you're not. A straight person acting as gay person or a disabled person is exactly what acting is and if they do the job great then it's good acting. A gay person being gay in a movie is not exactly an act... it's just who they are. Also CIS? isn't that exactly what SJWs use to define the normal people who have a penis or a vagina and are happy with that fact? Well that is 99.7% of the world, so we don't need an extra label, you can just say a man or a woman, thank you very much. Btw how I'm supposed to only watch those movies when they no longer exist? Thanks to the left Every... single... franchise and new movie has a feminist, lgbt, BLM,.. agenda to push that is completely irrelevant to the movie

It's racism to me, if you're dismissed right before you're given the chance to be known. Preference on the other hand, to me, is simply stating what you find the most attractive but it shouldn't stop you from liking or giving someone who doesn't fit in your preference a chance.
@ChannelYumYum
@ChannelYumYum 8 лет назад
Well, thats pretty much what a preference is, some people have strong preferences to where it can be difficult for them to give people a chance, but I find it odd any preference at all for a race over others is considered racist.

No it's called saving time and battery, by being upfront with your preferences... yeah it may come across rude and there might be a better way of going about this by telling everyone they are just not their type (not mentioning the reason), but not everyone has time for that. Dating is by nature biased and nobody can control who they are attracted to, get over it, besides isn't that like a good thing... if you think someone is racist or w/e for not wanting to have sex with you, they just saved you time by putting that on their profile, so you don't have to find out about their "racism" on your own
@harshnemesis
@harshnemesis 6 лет назад
+Bleedy Schastivyy It's not racist here is why: By being different race you have different aesthetics... the aesthetics some people are not into, so how would one put that on their profile? Yeah in the same way as we name more curvy aesthetics, we call that fat people. So if you're not into certain aesthetics of a race, you just put that down as that race in profile. And another note: This is not equal opportunities or being allowed to use public spaces, this is dating and once again nobody owes you sex.
@RayRay06122
@RayRay06122 6 лет назад
@@harshnemesis I see what your saying but here is my problem with that. Being of that race doesn't mean they fit that aesthetic. Such a strange logic... Racism = "these races are below my race, they don't deserve what my race deserves, they should not have what my race has economically and politically, I don't want to be friends or mingle with them or have a type of relatinship that establishes me and them as equals" Sexual Preference = "this shape and color don't give me boner, you are my friend and my equal, and you deserve everything that I deserve, but you aren't sexually attractive to me" Of course, maybe one day people who say they won't date a black/asian/white/latino guys will find someone in that race whom they might fall in love with. But calling them racists is just an exaggeration and misleading.

Preference is based on physical attraction for the most part. Why should I be forced to date someone I am not physically attracted to just to satisfy the whole "be open-minded and liberal" BS mindset? Again, preference for a certain physique is NOT the same as REAL racism, which exists in things like the housing market or job market or the justice system even. I will simply not date a man who I am not attracted to physically because I have the right to. Please get over yourself.

Here is the thing I don't date people for different backgrounds, race, etc to check up virtue signaling list like movies do these days, I date them because I find them attractive. Nobody ever said anything about racial superiority, our preferences just don't allow us to have sex with certain people that's all and it's fine and it's really same as not wanting to bang fat or ugly people, just not attracted to them, doesn't mean I would refuse to sell them something or be their friend, or w/e else I just wouldn't bang anyone I'm not attracted to. Stop SJWing and get over yourself, nobody owes you sex and if you still believe not wanting to bang someone is racist or w/e why do you turn down women? I mean are you a sexist pig? As gay blk guy with lifelong experiences, I say you'll find alienation, exclusion, racism, discrimination within EVERY group or so-called communities. Often times, people within their groups are at war with each other but yet preach acceptance and tolerance when they all of a sudden feel threatened or excluded. To me, it just comes down to individualism.

Its kinda of tough approaching this issue. I have no friends. When trying to interact with the gay community that is predominantly white I was turned away. In my complex there are gay couples and groups of friends. I introduced myself, brought a bottle of liquor approaching them with kindness and wanted to hangout but sadly they rejected the bottle saying " we don't drink", however I see them at the gay bar. So It hurts to say no one wants to be my friend, be committed to me or let alone interact with me Online or in person because I am black. It sucks because my dad is white and my grandfather is an Irish black red head. I'm not fat. I've got a body.I feel now that I have to validate on why I could be someone's friend and I shouldn't hhave to. Still to this day I see all the gays hangout walking to the bar,going over someone's house or be at the pool(in front of my apartment) ....however I feel like they don't like because I am black.

Delton McLemore being with people or the so called good looking people is not a great situation. It's overrated. Friendships happen rarely but if it does it is great. If certain ppl reject that doesn't mean you have to be sad. Everything is over rated. Even happiness. Don't fall for these situations. Build a career make money be safe be healthy. Enjoy life. Definitely one or two or more people will like you. The people you mentioned are a minority in real. Maybe the area you live has bigots. But don't limit yourself to that situation. Meet people around the world. I am sure you will get thousands of friends. People who don't understand you well just leave them. A perception cannot be the last word. Unfortunately those ppl will never understand this. Move on. Life is exciting. Get your goals. That's more exciting than love or friends.

You either have so many opportunities for dates/sex you can eliminate nearly 1/2 the potential guys or you don't actually want to meet someone AND 2) You probably have a bunch of other issues not related to race so I'll give you a pass.

What's more hurtful is those type of men who say "Only interested in masculine or Fit men. Not everyone can commit to hitting the gym and some guys proudly accept their body for what it is" it's the same with straight guys who are only interested in super model hot women or really pretty women. it breaks down insecurities in people who are already have a hard time loving them selves.

There is racism everywhere I have had encounters with racism in the gay community. I feel like humans are unevolved mentally American social engineering and stereotypes are sickening. I think I'll remain celibate and remain mentally strong, my job as a being is to heal others. Being an empath and clairsentient makes dating very difficult especially when so many humans are not mentally equally yoked with me. I can see through people that is my gift it is a powerful and rare quality I possess, that can be used to show people there is more in ourselves then social stereotypes. Remember we are here to learn and grow not to cater to deficient beings who have their own opinion. Their opinion does not define me I will not waste time on foolishness from no one, not even my cat. life became so much easier for me, the day I realized that other people's perception of me, is just that, " a perception of me" is their own, has nothing to do with my reality and my truth. most people won't have the time or the opportunity to get to know the real you, so what happens? they take this micro information they have of you simply to categorize you, creating a false reality of you, and the foundation of that reality is based on their comprehension of culture and Society... so the moment you stop taking it personal, is the moment that life gets better, you start to attain a freedom you didn't know before!

being old isn't a race so it's not racist, that would be ageism. Like how some people won't date someone older than 25. Odd how that cycle goes since a lot of the older generation wouldn't date the guys who were older than them. But of course that would be if they were only excluding someone based on their age and not other factors.

a preference is going into Baskin Robbins and trying all 31 flavors and then saying yes I prefer mint chocolate chip over vanilla. To say you have a preference when you've never tried it... is not the definition of preference. It is a prejudice. You have a preconceived notion of this person due to their skin color and have decided to discredit them and their potential based on something so stupid. These comments are hilarious because nothing has changed, no one has learned. This video is not for the minorities, because we KNOW there's a problem; the very title as a question is irritating. It is nothing new, nothing ground breaking. So the audience this video was intended for has unfortunately done nothing because if you scroll down they continue to use words they don't understand; like preference. Dictionaries should be given out for free for christmas.

gmooreheadiv I'm only half with you about sexual preference only because really when you're eating ice cream nobodys dick has to get hard. Same way these guys know they don't like pussy they could implicitly not be attracted to or especially turned on by certain features just to cut people some slack. That said though, a lot of the time it is prejudice. I've had people be disappointed that I didn't act like a thug, been spoken to like a representative of all black people and had Mandingo fantasies projected on to me countless times. I do feel that white people in these things get to be considered as people where as POCs are more an idea, a notion, an experience or right of passage.

Old vid, but just discovered this vid about racism in the gay community. I feel that this vid is a bit of a cop out in posting about such a topic. Kyle got other people to do his job for him basically. His POC friends are once again the one educating. I think it would have been more impactful, if Kyle admitted to his own prejudices, or had white friends on who admitted to it, and describe change they hope would happen in the lgbtq community, rather than once again having POC peeps do for them. With that being said, still kudos for bringing up the topic, I just wish it was done in a less lazy way. Cheers!

Kyle, I've got to say that you've impressed me. At first when I saw your UNCUT videos and the guys that you were interviewing/giving hair cuts too I was disappointed because I noticed the same quintessential white gay guys. That lead me to think that you were the type of guy that didn't have friends or color and didn't have these conversations. I still think that you should diversify the guys whose hair you cut. Please don't be afraid of black hair and if it is uncharted territory then learn. Take a course, and invite more men of color on your UNCUT segment. But getting back to this video, I'm very impressed that you opened up the discussion and you "went there." The topic of race, racial preference, discrimination, and even body typing in the gay male world is very important. It affects men's self-esteem. It affects the communities that they belong to or the ones they feel rejected from. And it affects their future. I'm in a predominantly white city attending university. I just arrived about 3 weeks ago and I'm already feeling the discrimination and rejection from men on online dating profiles. I encourage you to continue a few more videos about this conversation. I like this video but it doesn't go deep enough. Maybe having a real dialogue between people of color and white men about this issue would really go the extra mile. The truth is, the gay male world is dominated by white male beauty. From publications, political representations, the dancers and bartenders at clubs, online dating profiles with (no fats, no fems, no blacks), there's no denying it.

Great video. I really enjoyed it. Your friends, in addition to being coiffed and good looking, were so articulate and honest in their responses. I feel certain anyone watching this video gained a greater awareness of the role of race and ethnicity in the gay community. Sidebar: The issue of racial preference and social media was brought up. It's a personal pet peeve of mine. Preferences are fine, but if you put 'No (insert adjective here)', you are intentionally excluding an entire population and that is your prerogative. However, if the adjective you chose is a race and/or ethnicity, you are actively discriminating based on race and/or ethnicity, which is the definition of racism. It's even been institutional, so it's easy to find in your profile, similar to another time in American history when 'No Blacks' signs were placed in the front windows of stores. Your 'preference' creates a space where it is okay to exclude, and in many cases, brutalize other human beings based on their identities. Wouldn't it be easier to simply talk about your preferencesite in terms of what you like, i.e. blond hair, blue eyes, long walks, sunsets and pina coladas?

I’m so glad I’m attracted to all races 🤗, I don’t even think about race or skin color when I’ve met ppl in the past, if I’m attracted to you that’s all I need. There’s good and bad ppl in every race so no need to ween any race out of my selections. I think ppl judge different races on the news (media)or movies they see and whether or not they’ve had a bad experience with one person from another race. Get to know the person before you come to the wrong conclusion 😶. Example, you probably don’t like everyone in your family , and you haven’t cut them off so don’t cut off an entire race. Your missing out if you do 😶.

That's an absurd fallacy, rather narrow minded for you to think that, and a tired argument. Don't think in absolutes. Do you think everybody lives in some black utopia like Baldwin Hills or big city like Atlanta, having their pick of the lot and plenty of black princes to socialize with? As a whole black men are essentially 6% of the U.S. population. That isn't even equally spread around in all states of this nation, nor does factor those not in prison. Who truly knows what minute percentage of that refers to out, bi/homosexual black men. Less than half of a percent of the U.S. population are even homosexual/bi black males. 0.6% is roughly 10% of the U.S. male black population, which is already a generously estimated and likely overenthusiastic percentage of non-heterosexual black men. Let alone those who are out and over the age of 18. There are more homosexual black men in Africa than the U.S. and Canada alone, but obviously not as accessible for obvious reasons. Stop being so closed-minded, as not everyone is as fortunate as you have been to be blessed with access to other gay men that identify as black and enjoy compatibility. You are not wrong about the "white obsession" though, as they are plenty who fixate on dating that way, truly because of self-hatred. Don't assume everyone is that way. I certainly don't feel sorry for self-hating people, but not everyone is dealing with that who complain. There are many of us that reside in areas where we are already amongst the very few black people locally and cannot leave where we live for various reasons, whether economic, academic, or family-related. In those cases, many already opt out of participating in local GLB events/groups in feeling already ostracized or strung along like a third citizen in the form of a token, like they are somehow irrelevant to the greater cause. They stay single or even remain closeted, in feeling it's pointless to come out where they are in seeing no imminent social benefit to do so. Or they settle for "non-black" locals willing to "supposedly" give them time of day (and possibly fetishize them) or white men who take advantage of unfair racist societal dynamics (have below average demeanor unlike the black partner) . It's shameful, but it happens especially to many young or successful black males that are coming out and have yet to find their place in the non-heterosexual world. At the end of day, the dominant racial/ethnic group in a limited/minority sect is bound to have substantial influence on everyone, that we'd have to go out of our way to truly avoid them and live like Amish or the Gullah to keep them out. People should not even be segregating on "race" and then chastise those who don't "stick to their own".Equally there is something wrong with those that negatively discriminate against others (then pretend to be innocent), as well as those that deliberately stray and stay away from good people of their own background (and then whine about prejudice). It doesn't mean we are somehow noble for sticking with our own, like you think. Everyone is not as lucky to find what they want at home.. The problem with that is, there's just not enough of us everywhere in this country nor enough to even go around. We are disadvantaged in how between (many countries in) Europe, UK, South Africa, Australia, NZ, and North America , white men are free to mingle with and date many other men of the same "so-called race" at much higher rates (with much less effort), while we can only make do with a much smaller pool of African-American or South African black males. Other countries with large/dominant black populations are either "anti-gay" (Nigeria, Kenya, Ghana), or suffer from blistering institutional racism (Brazil). Regarding orientation, we have very little freedom in nearly all of Africa and the tropical Americas (Caribbean). Where G/Bi black men have legal rights/freedom, we are too few in numbers. For Latinos, there are more of them from gay-friendly countries by ancestry, this is less of a problem. For non-black Latinos from anti-gay nations, they already easily assimilate into the general population or have the alternative/escape from racism via LGBT sects of Latino dominant U.S. cities and probably deal with less prejudice than most black people, due to a combination of colorism and racial prejudice at play. East Asians may not have it easy either, but probably fare much better in their home countries than us Caribbeans and Africans in regards to anti-gay sentiment. The wealth factor of Eastern Asia, also makes provides an alternative/escape for them in some cases. South Asians and those from Muslim nations in mostly West Asia can be discriminated against, but when determined they are able to change it up and easily assimilate here as "white" depending on their "physical appearance". The best us African immigrants can do to even fully "assimilate" here is to tolerate the subtle condescending insults and micro aggressions from the general U.S. populace (i.e. white), while doing 3 times better or hope to make strong connections with African-Americans on shared experiences as black people. I find POC a silly term anyway, that presents false solidarity. Just like LGBT. It's not as if Asians and Latinos do not discriminate against "black" people as well, in fact that is where your first sentence does make sense as the latter is more likely to complain. Overall, I find all human ethnicities attractive without specific cosmetic alterations (i.e. unflattering cultural piercings, tribal scars, gauged ears, etc). Black people only keep to themselves at times to survive the animosity of others towards them in this world. In my opinion, it would be ideal to have in addition to the gay population of African-Americans & black immigrants in the US, a politically stable gay-friendly black superpower with a glittering economy and infrastructure (South Africa still suffers from Apartheid aftereffects, so not of relevance). As long as we are solely tied to this country, with no gay-friendly black super power of a nation as the alternative to move to or visit, do not expect out non-heterosexual black men to only wait for out-black male partners that aren't even available at the level of heterosexual men. Other than the go-to assumption of self-hatred or societal indoctrination, it is simply a game of numbers that don't work in our favor as a whole and many "POC"/black men resultantly complaining after being (racially) bitten for seeking out others. People are sometimes forced to "date out" when they are a minority of some sort or simply remain single. If Africa was as developed as and (sad to admit) gay-friendly as North America or much of Europe, we'd hear so much less of these endless racism complaints, but that is not reality yet. Would any of us be here having this discussion? No, we wouldn't. This is what happens when you are a sub-minority (out/non-closeted) of a minority (homosexuals) of a minority (race/black). Yes, the majority of men attracted to other men are likely in the closet or fail to recognize they are not truly heterosexual. There may be many fish out in the sea, but too many of those fishes are white and not enough black fishes. Interracial dating is already too much trouble to deal with, so I doubt many of us would dare to even consider it if there were more of us to choose from. We're not heterosexual black women, we're a smaller group of men with less to work with population wise. The only gay acquaintances/friends (black Americans) I've truly had, agree with my beliefs, as a black West African man. Your attitude that you don't have these problems and trying to imply that "POC" that do are fools, is a big slap in this face to those that love ourselves and want more for our people of various nations and tribes. We are not all Don Lemons and Todrick Halls.

nwaeze1 First let me give you a slow clap because your reply was an interesting read. LONG but interesting. And for the Gay Men of Color who do find themselves drowning in a sea of mostly White Gay Men, where interracial dating is your only recourse...then of course it is understandable why you would seek out a White Romantic Partner... they're the only options you have. No shame in that. And for the record I have no issue with people dating interracially. In fact I have no problem with Gay MOC dating interracially even if their were alternative options at their disposal. I don't condemn it whatsoever...but you should know what to expect. If you are going jump the fence then issues like "sexual discrimination" should come AS A GIVEN. I get ANNOYED at Gay Men of Color who act surprised or even have the gull to complain about "sexual discrimination" when seeking out Gay White Men, for whatever reason. Follow me on this. White Beauty is promoted by White Owned Media. So why would Gay White Men have an interest in dating outside their race when their own race is seen as the pentacle of beauty by western societal standards? Especially here in the USA. (Although I think that standard is bull btw) But my main point is, if you're going to date White Gay Men don't be so surprised when they don't find your phenotype attractive. It should be taken as a given at this point. Black Gay Men are not promoted on Gay Magazines like INSTINCT, ADVOCATE, OUT etc...AND TO BE QUITE FRANK I find it odd when people of any race (White, Black or otherwise) find another race outside their own more attractive. That's something I just don't get. So I never really get mad when Gay White Man say they are almost exclusively attracted to other White Men. They find their own more attractive. So do I. That doesn't mean on occasion I don't find other men from different races attractive, but I do think people of my own are more so and I don't think there's any shame in admitting that. And in the USA most Black People do live amongst each other in metropolitan areas. So if you are Gay and Black you can more than likely find a Gay Black Male to date. Very few Blacks live in rural areas. Very few Blacks live in areas that are predominately other. For the most part racial groups tend to live within communities that share their same background. BUT for the unfortunate few who do find themselves "stranded" I can completely understand why "sexual discrimination" would be a problem when most of the gay guys available to you are White. I sympathize. That is a type of horror I have never went through and do not wish to see.

Amen, I hope to leave where I am one day. It is mainly a Mexican sanctuary where I am. Black and white people are small minorities here. All of the few black people here are solidly middle-to-upper class transients,but socially ultra-conservative types (most Dem though) and super-religious. More of the Africans compromise civilian black populace, while most of the Americans are military. Those are of us that are LGBT black men are literally non-existent, so deep in the closet they can touch the Earth's core, or have fled town to escape the closet, in a more worthwhile environment. Don't get more wrong, I like Mexicans and come across many beautiful men everyday, they are extremely cliquish here and only both reach out to the few white people here. Generally, most of them express bewilderment that the few black people here are extremely successful and that we keep to ourselves, as we don't play around with fake friends and silly drama. Doesn't mean I don't like the whites and Latinos here, one has truly felt welcome in a place, whether expect you be sweeping up Taco Bell and instead you pulled up at the Drive Thru in a Benz, picking up meal. I mean sure, I do know plenty of other local black people, but none of them are gay and instead mostly anti-gay. That's my dilemma and I do not find worth dating interracially, if people think they're somehow doing me favor. As young as I am, I continue to unearth and have learned a lot about the damage done to us in Africa, here, and the Caribbean through deep indoctrination the past 500 years. I always have this deep awareness of who I am, as I mingle with others. I have never made any non-black gay friends and can only count 2 black ones I made. Many of our men can also be very nasty in parts of Texas, expressing irritation towards being seen in the same room in a club/bar and treat you as an undesirable encroaching on their territory There is really a stronger element of bigotry in men, when same-sex attraction is a factor. I know that heterosexual can be terroritial and overprotective along the lines of caveman-like behavior (or tribalism), but racially prejudicial attitudes are different with gay men. The platonic aspect of friendship differs in many cases from that of hetero men, that you are less likely to be friends with many gay men who hold greater biases against you, also affected by sexuality. As a life-long gear head (car-obsessed), I have only met so far one bi black guy, who I met through my old business last year. He had a much younger white boyfriend :/ and clearly had some self-hatred issues, in being an East Coast suburban kid. Every other gay gear head I tried to connect with (no black men sadly) over shared interest in cars and hopefully also some common ground in being LGBT, never panned out over prejudicial treatment or me refusing to kiss their. feet, Nearly all of the local hetero young gear heads were either Trump supporter-style racists or just plain homophobic people. A lot of white/Tejano car guys are small-mined people in Texas and like that to be anti-PC. Interestingly, the only person that ever reached out to me who shared a passion for cars and motor sports was a white guy name Lance Nelson, a prominent RU-vidr. He is probably the only gay white person I have personally met and actually respect. I have never taken sexual interest in him though, as never would cross that bridge. Sorry if I came on too strong in my last comment, I just felt hurt as an young African man people act as if those of us struggling in the gay world, only do so because we deserve it or somehow hate our fellow brothers.Like black Americans stripped of our motherland kinship, it feels like I don't have a ancestral home nor a heritage to embrace anymore. My ancestral nation is a homophobic, unstable powerhouse in West Africa, which I can never go to back to. America already treats its black like dirt and pretends everything is all great, when it's truly a farce. If the Brits and French left Africa alone, we'd have a stable homeland and less homophobia over there. It really sucks that all one has in much of Texas are a bunch of unfriendly LGBT Mexicans and cynical white gays that are chock full of bigotry and only respect self-hating dominant black jocks as top. I guess I'm too lean and average in height (basically not a Jason Collins) or a Michael Sam. Or treat you like you are some sex slave that is supposed to be seen and not heard. I bet it is not much different where I have moved back to earlier this year, but with more Mexicans, less whites, 0 gay black men. It is only when these people learn I come from a rich family or that I'm a distant relative of Kerry Washington's husband, they either express bitter disappointment or try to save face. Screw them all honestly, This wouldn't happen in ATL, which I hope to move to in a few years and work for Porsche North America. Texas gay life sucks ass and maybe so does New Mexico South of ABQ. My advice to my gay brothers are, don't come to anywhere in TX unless you are a loaded and have a vast social net already there to rely on. I'm all about family, building my career now, and money until then. Very excellent points BTW and I understand how you see things, especially in never being in my shoes and never being exposed to such a dreadful environment. I would blame my family for isolating us in a bubble of hyper religious upper middle /upper black professionals that despise LGBT in the middle of the desert. Sorry for the length.

nwaeze1 ATL, LA, NYC, DC, ChiTown all of pretty good thriving Black Gay scenes. I think surrounding yourself with your own will make the issue of race less apparent when it comes to dating at least...of course there will still be issues like masc vs fem, body discrimination and skin tone preferential and social climbers, but most of those issues you'd face in any gay scene regardless of race...although skin tone is usually an issue only Blacks have to deal with. Being raised in a country that promotes Whiteness can have adverse side effects on what even Black People deem to be beautiful. But at the very least when you are around your own you won't have to worry about whether or not someone will like me due to your race, so that is a extra burden off your back.

I actually have a very strange coming out story... So, I've been a fan of Kyle's for a long time. Always liking his photos on Instagram, watching his videos, ect.. So, in 10th grade, I had decided to make one of his photo's my background picture on my phone, it was on the weekend and I thought nothing of it because it's just because I'm a big fan. When I went into school, one of my friends took my phone and unlocked it, seeing the picture of Kyle as my background. Now, I used to delete anything that seemed... Gay? On my phone. So if I ever saved pictures of men or talked to them, they'd be gone before school. But I forgot about my background, my friend, whom is a boy, saw it and asked me if I was gay. He said it with a strange voice, as if he were joking around, and expected me to say no. But I grabbed at my phone, and got real red in the face from embarrassment. He noticed that and his face sunk, seeming more serious and stern. He was accepting thankfully! And that made me happy!

I get what you're saying BUT I'm a black gay Male myself and the other black men I've encountered are often times dl/in the closet, not ambitious, dont have anything going for them, or are prostituting themselves. Not saying all but a good majority of black gays have issues that probably stem from our community being drastically homophobic and the expectation for men to be hypermasculine. So with all of these issues as a out black gay man it's hard finding gay black love where I'm at. That's why I'm open to other races but as the video mentioned the grass isnt greener on the other side. Dating is so fucking hard :(

Very interesting video I stumbled across here, racism does exist even in the UK even now yes in 2019. Some of us can be classed as ugly and not accepted. Too much stereotypes and labels. If one is born gay not knowing anything and what to expect.. it can be such a struggle to survive living this nightmare. In Asian community there are a number of horror stories which scare and destroy lives , which can lead to suicide which is on the increase. LGBT DOES NOT DO ENOUGH in this matter I feel. 🌈☹

I love this video. As a Muslim born and raised in England I've always felt like i had to balance my Pakistani culture, the British culture as well as my religion (Islam). What most people don understand is that religion has no connection to my Pakistani upbringing as they're two separate lifestyles and that a lot of people from Pakistan are from other religious backgrounds just like most countries. I do get categorised as a submissive bottom and honestly, think that's wrong to put someone in that box when you don't know them very well whether that's true or not. And there's nothing wrong with your sexual preference as well. I don't identify myself as a gay muslim because i only see myself as me and feel that makes things easier than adding a label onto you as it builds pressure and we don't need that excess stress of in the modern day lifestyle that we all live in. I have met some amazing people and they've become my best friends/family and I've also met some disgusting people who feel the need to be better than you and make you feel bad and i also feel there's Racism within the same race which is sad because someone who wants to build a happy connection between people to be themselves, its not nice to be on the receiving end of that situation. Growing up I've always had to deal with racism from teacher to the public and over the years and have learnt to deal with it as well as being straight forward with people which may not be the best thing to do but like everyone we are all learning. The best thing you can do is be the best version of you and slowly realise things get better and support anyone in the same or similar situation. Sorry for writing an essay, love your videos Kyle you've always been an inspiration to me xxx

Badar Akmal well said. Perfectly precise. Yes we don't have to suffer because others are bigots or racists. We have our own lives to enjoy. Ohers negativity or negative feedback is bad but immaterial. Living happily or not happily is also over rated. Life is not connected to these situations. But we make our lives tougher by focusing on people who don't understand us. Just leave them and enjoy life simple truth. As a so called introverted person I was side lined by the so called extroverts who feel they are better. That's so uncool. And people call extroverts as cool. Yes I agree with you 👍.

Strange you’d bring this topic. As a gay Black man, I never fit into the White gay community. In fact, felt unwelcome many times. The few times I dated a White guy, it was awful they way I was treated and then they’d get mad at me for not wanting to have sex. Needless to say I never spoke to them again even though I was running into them all the time. Felt very disrespected. Where I lived, that’s all that was around me. Eventually, I moved to feel like I fit in somewhere and to make friends. So I went out to different places, began very quickly to make friends. I just brushed everything else away. But when I here that word community, I quickly get bothered by it.

My name is Nedal, I am 15 years old and I am gay. Growing up in the small town of Daytona Beach wasn't the easiest thing, since there are a lot of close-minded people. My Mom and Dad are divorced so it was so difficult switching through different places all the time. But, when I came out to my Dad last year, he kicked me out of his house and his family. He was not a great person, he was racist, sexist, homophobic, he lied to people, and scammed them within his business he had. On the other hand, I have my mom that is absolutely amazing and caring who I live with. And just to throw in, every since I have started being openly gay, it's been okay. I have friends that accept me for who I am. I wanted to tell this story because I feel that it's important to hear others stories about growing up with something many people this is weird or wrong. And thank you so much, Kyle, for making high quality videos like this - it's so important. Spread love and peace and always be accepting, people!! ❤️

Honestly, this is such a tired conversation. Men of color, particularly Black ones, wouldn't be so offended and/or taken aback by the "no blacks" profiles if they weren't so thirsty for the first non-Black profile they see. Racism is racism, irrespective of gender, orientation, whatever.

Personally it is not so much about COLOUR as it is about being ETHNIC looking... here in the US anyway. In fact, as a gay ethnic-looking man, this is a HUGE silent issue in the US .Unfortunately when anyone, such as myself, brings it up, we are put "in our place" and the truth just swept under the rug with excuses like "we are just born liking what we like," or "stop playing the race card," or we are called hypocrites if we somehow reject men who don't fit what we look for and it happens to be someone of colour. It is an issue that will never truly be solved and definitely not in my lifetime. In the US we have gotten past gay male issues altogether. Advocates have moved on to the next best thing such as transgender and nonbinary issues. People like me, no longer NEED movies or shows or anything because it has all "been done." Leaves me sad because, and I speak for myself on this, all that ethnic looking guys like me really want is simple, long lasting love too. To be wanted/looked at as more than just a fetish (prefer not to be a fetish at all) and not be marginalized by our own lgbt people. I would love to see a gay ethnic looking man be more than just a flamboyant side character, or be an athlete, as I am and show a side that isn't all stereotypical. Being alone, being unloved, being unwanted, is not something that SHOULD HAVE to be coped with when the problem could be solved. I shouldn't be the one being told to go see a therapist to get "OVER" these issues because it isn't just a me problem. But it is what it is and unfortunately, it is a reason so many of us either stay in the closet, or become statistics. In the end NO ONE of importance cares enough to speak up. 274 in 2 months....show how little anyone cares. But be a hot white gay dude OR straight dude acting like a straight up sissy boy and prancing around and you will easily get 1 million views in days. Proof is in the pudding. Good luck.

its a leftist/social justice problem. Most people in the world, actually just accept that they're not someone else's type and if they get rejected, they move on to find someone else. Only those who are unable to get over it, have some remarkably delusional attitude, that they are somehow entitled to every other cock out there that they like, will complain and play the race card. Being rejected isn't a crime. And at the same time, you are NOT entitled to every other dick out there, regardless of race. Get over yourself, and you are simply NOT going to be lusted after by everyone else on the planet. People like what THEY like, and because you don't match that, tough. And if you can't get over that, then the person with the real mental identity issues is not the person doing the rejecting, its the one who can't get over rejection.

Didn't even watch the video only came here to say this: 1. If most gays are refusing services and equal opportunities to members of another race, then yes there is racism in "gay community" 2. If a gay guy is refuses to have sex with you because you're not the race they are into (I bet the video is about that) then no there isn't racism in "gay community" Dating is by nature biased, people get turned down for simply having the wrong haircut and nothing is wrong with that, especially since we can't control who are we attracted to and who not. NOBODY OWES YOU SEX.
