Hank Williams recorded but never released song. Producer found tape in house and gave it to Hank Jr. to record and with technical support combined voices together and took video of another song made his lips move to look like Hank Sr is actually singing the song. Technology at its finest

Hank Williams, Sr recorded this song in a practice session but it was never released. The recording was found many years after Hank, Sr died. When Hank, Jr became aware of it, he decided to do this video. The performance by Hank Sr’s band was not of this song but of another song. They took the video, the recording of the song, matched them together, and then had Hank Jr appear to be in the video with his father. Easy to do with today’s technology, but dramatically new for the eighties when this video was produced. It made it possible for Hank, Jr to do a video performance with his father who had died 30 years before. Incredible. The video won Song of the year at that year’s CMA awards.

Once when Hank Jr. was on tour he met a gentleman who had an old acetate tape of his father Hank Sr. performing this song. Hank Sr. was probably the first real legend of country music and died when Jr was really young. Jr always wished he could perform with his dad. Through the tape given to him he was finally able to do so.

Hank Jr. did a remake of his father’s song as a duet with his father in it. Tear in Beer was originally done by Hank Williams Sr. (in the white) Hank Williams JR (with beard) was covering his dads song thinking about his dad and how much he misses him! See the video scanning the pictures on the wall of his dad and him sitting on his dads lap. His ultimate fantasy was to be able to jam with his dad. In this video they made it happen! 🥲

Hank Jr. sounded so much like his dad all of his fans wanted him to sing like his daddy. So much so that it gave Hank Jr. a good reason to become an alcoholic. Eventually, he broke out from under his daddy's shadow and found his own voice. But that voice must run in the family. That's what makes it a "Family tradition".

Hank Sr, who passed when Jr was only about 3, is singing with him. Hank Sr was the biggest of his time. Was a serious alcoholic, & passed when he was only 29. He was mostly known for heartbreak & cheating songs. This shows the original film of Sr, mixed with a current one of Hank Jr. She didn't die. She left/cheated, and broke his heart. Hank Jr used to joke around with the lines & sing, There's tears in my ears, from laying on my back, crying over you. Untwist that one. Lol

That other singer was the father of Hank Williams Jr... His name was Hank Williams... Died in 1953 Jan 1, in the back seat of his caddy, on route to a Bew Years eve show... Hank Jr was just a little kid ehen his daddy passed away... He always wanted to dova song with his daddy, and with technology, he was able to fo that.. (well, as close to it as possible)... This was very emotional for Hank Jr... And the sing was his Daddys song, a rough copy with nothing but Hank Sr and a guitar... Hank Jr, overdubbed his voice and some professional instrumentation, and it wentviver big in the country field...

They found this recording among some unreleased Hank Sr recordings. He never released this song. Hank, Jr. decided to through the magic of technology to do a duet with his father. This song won the Country song of the year Grammy the year it released.* The little kid in the video is Hank , Jr as a baby. The song is not really all that great. It is the fact that Hank Sr and Hank Jr were able to team up in a duet that made it great. Any new material from Hank, Sr. was a treat, no matter the quality.

The song was discovered in a attic back in the 1980s. Nobody knew it existed for 30 years. Hank Sr recorded it and for whatever reason it got thrown away in an attic. When it was discovered hank jr recorded it. Basically his Dad wrote and recorded the song in early 1950s. Song got lost for 30 years. It was rediscovered and recorded by his son Hank jr. That man is hanks legendary father. His dad died when he was 3 so Hank never got to sing with his father. So this video was made so hank and his father could sing together

Actually he was in pain in the back of his Cadillac and the kid that was driving him took him to see a doctor. The doctor gave him a dose of medicine not knowing that he had already had some in his system, therefore he died of an overdose not alcoholism. I saw this video when it debuted, and it gave me goose bumps watching them sing together. Watching you see it the first time gave me the same reaction. There was a bit of a build-up about this song and this video before it was released, since it was a 'lost' Hank Williams song that was discovered more than 30 years after his death. (The song Pan American Queen is pretty much the same, but there's no video. :) Hank was the original '50s superstar, who died in the back seat of his Cadillac somewhere on a Lost Highway to play another show.... There's a lot to the stories of both Sr and Jr, but if you know some of Sr's story, Alan Jackson's 'Midnight in Montgomery' will give you the heebie jeebies.
