I grew up listening to Hank Jr. Now I am 45, still can't get enough. He tells great country stories in his songs. His true grit is hard to find in other artists. You rule Hank. Love you in Southern California.
He has made great music And has made a stamp in the genre but he is an arrogant bastard most the time. I've watched several interviews with him and he is always acting like he's a foot above the grass he walks on.
He never compensates nothing why you think he's kicked off of everybody's shows and now he's going to these RU-vidrs he's an a****** you guys will keep kissing it
ive been around him with the exception of this chat log most people make fun of him cause his such a goob for real. he gets butt hurt when people dont acknowledge him
Have saw Hank several times, most of the time he would really ripped and be in the middle of one song and go right into the other. Then I have saw him when he would play every instrument and never miss a beat. Hell of an entertaining person. He is a not always as arrogant as you see on TV and pod cast interviews. He is actually a super nice person.
@@22lyric Surely you're joking? Imagine if someone categorized your entire life by one brief moment of anger. I'm sure you haven't always been pleasant.
I met him at Toostsies on Broadway in Nashville, he was in the private booth and invited me in, bought me a shot. Amazing night. He was insanely nice, though I wouldn't say he was modest lol.
One of my favorite memories is sitting around listening to Daddy and the uncles tell old stories while smoking cigars. I would sit all afternoon on Daddy's footstool. By that evening I was throwing up, but I didn't care.
I wish Hank Jr. would talk more about the guitar players who played with him, taught him and helped him become who he is. And can he remember a time when he didn't play guitar?
When Hank talked about the concert in Syracuse NY it gave me goosebumps because I was there and it was the best concert I ever been to. We love Hank in upstate NY! Awesome interview
I don’t think Hank is nearly as bad a dude as he makes himself out to be. From trying to escape his father’s shadow, to surviving the fall, to being canceled by MNF…I think he’s just become an extremely defensive person. I believe he’s really a down to earth guy behind the shades and tough guy facade.
I learned how to talk listening to Hank Jr and Waylon Jennings. We once went and took a tour of the house in Nashville. We couldn't go upstairs because someone from the family was staying there - but we got to see everything else. A few of years later, we drove by the house ... at the same time "A Country Boy Can Survive" came out. There was a Rolls Royce and about 5 Caddies in the driveway. A Country Boy Can Indeed Survive :)
@@WhiteOak09 Lol, no you're right....he's EXTREMELY arrogant, and I think he's getting worse!!! I also have been a huge fan since the early 80's and every single "story" or brag, that comes out of his mouth is the same crap he talked about 40 yrs ago, and frankly I'm tired of it. Who cares!!! Anyone that has followed him knows these things about him, or at least should already. Yeah, we already know Jerry Lee taught him piano, some of those rockers from the 50's where fans of Hank Sr.. Stop with the stories and focus on making a decent country album. The past few album releases have totally sucked. These guys obviously must not know much about Hank if they're getting such a kick out of his ridiculous antics. This crap is so old already. 👎👎👎
@@JoeLazzara I heard Waylon J. say that Hank is the most confident man he knows and I thought to myself that was his nice way of saying what we're saying .
I couldn’t afford 1 of his cigars much less afford to shake his hand . But I love him he is honest , up front , and genuine 7 days a week . He is same guy anytime any day of the week .
Give me more of this stuff and you have me for life. Course I am 70 years old but the photo was when I was 58. Don't fret none cause we all could live to 120 if we don't screw it up or one of those evil ailments gets us. Keep it up, keep it coming, bring it from the heart.
I grew up loving Hank. Had 1st row seats for a number of concerts back when you had to stand in line overnight at Ticketmaster. Now, I can barely stand his interviews and I've given up on his concerts. The same playlist, the same talking between songs, nothing is different.
The crappiest interview ever he was disrespectful and his new album oh my gosh it sound like crap I can't believe it it was horrible he's got to quit deep throat no cigars I think it's messing his voice up
@@stephenbraden6239 that's what it's about and I get it but he don't have to be disrespectful to people I like his old music he don't have to be so cocky expect people to bow down at home he ruined it for me there's another video out where he's so disrespectful
Seen Hank in Jersey & Delaware and will be there on Friday 2/26/24 at hard rock in AC. I’ll be in the 4th row, seat 12, holding a large 👑 of ❤️ playing card
So humble he just lights up a stogie and somebody else's space and says he's allowed to do it because he's an "icon". *Snort*. Looks like a fuck-ass riding daddy's name to me.
Love the new album, no doubt. I think one of Hank Jr's, most underrated and best albums was Wham Bam Sam (mid 90's)....... Excellent songs, lyrics and music? Hank Jr is a National Treasure!
I got into Hank 3 first and along the way I discovered how amazing and just flat out cool Hank jr is. My grandpa and and great grandpa were Hank sr fans. It’s a family tradition 🤘🏻
How did he make it to the Hall of Fame he's a straight-up ass and his new album oh my gosh it sound like crap he's got to quit deep in those cigars it's messing his voice up and they done a lot of work trying to get his voice to sound right and they just couldn't get it right but they put it out anyways cuz they know you guys will buy it
Hank Jr has always been thar way, very straight forward. He is also very kind hearted. He just doesn't let anyone walk on him.He learned from all the famous musicians in his childhood, I mean everybody stopped by his house. Thanks for this fantastic interview.
He's not kind-hearted he'll take a crap on you any chance he gets he's so cocky he acts like he's up there with Elvis or something and Elvis never disrespect anybody
@@DWO619 My dude, I hate to burst your bubble, but Elvis had a documented history of domestic abuse, and was a sexual predator who quite literally married a 14 year old girl. 😂 Hank can be an arrogant asshole. But he's also kindhearted. From taking disabled children and families of fallen soldiers on hunting trips, to donating hundreds of thousands of dollars to disaster relief programs over the years. Everyone has their moments. Including you.
@@nicholasjames2947 listen there's a lot you don't know Hank Williams has it done nothing for nobody unless he was getting something out of it Elvis has bought so many people cars he would see people looking at cars knowing they couldn't afford it and he would go up to them and buy them a brand new Cadillac he is donated so much money two children's hospitals Elvis has paid people's houses off I'm talking about everybody the Elvis new he bought them a house he bought them cars he's bought people jewelry Elvis never had money it's because he gave it away Hank Williams wouldn't even help his own son out Elvis did not marry Priscilla when she was 14 years old she was 21 and that was actually pretty old getting married back then usually people got married when they were 14 or 15 that was just how it was back then everybody done that there will never be a singer like Elvis he was the best Elvis died in 1977 he still popular to this day there's a movie about him in the theaters right now that is mind-blowing you will always hear about Elvis when Hank Williams passes away you won't hear nothing about him anymore
Humbleness and Grace goes a long way. He’s an amazing singer and has alot of talent but why brag on yourself. Let your talent be seen not told . To Name yourself icon , let your fans who put you there do that
I read somewhere that one time someone asked Hank Williams Sr. how he came up with the ideas and words for his songs. He said he got the ideas from reading comic books.
Hank Williams Sr. Was a talent byond ( any hard) competition...such a gifted man...why, at such a young age? Why Edgier Allen Poe? He died in his twenties? 😊
I Love Uncle Hank... where I'm from up here in the Ramapough Mountains of North Jersey, PeopLe think we're all City Folks here in Jersey but NOPE, We're More Country Hillbillies than LOTSA Places down South lololol If he'd ever made to North Jersey where my Clan is ( I'm Turtle Clan ) , He'd truly Love the OLE Fashioned ways things are and how we are... One Big Family that sticks together. We'd be MORE EXCITED AND HAPPY about Hank Jr Showing up to and for My people more than We would for the Frekkin PresidenT of the UniteD States . . . For ReaLz . . . His Songs are PlayeD BLASTING thru our LanD/Streets up here 'TiL this Very DaY. We ReLaTe to his songs more yall can and could EVER imagine. Keep oN, Keeping On Mr/Uncle Hank. Stay Golden, Brother
I've been a fan of his all my life. It seems though, that he has confused badass independence with blatant rudeness. Maybe he has gotten to the point in his life that someone needs to remind him that he is there because of the people who buys his music and the people who talks about and plays his music on line and on the radio. He should stop acting like it's such a pain in the ass to do an interview. He should know that if you want to remain relevant, you have to pay your dues. You never stop paying dues until you are ready to hang it up.
I’d say he needs a little less of it kinda comes off rude in ways I’m a Hank fan but honestly would be disappointed if this was my interview now eager he was to leave and didn’t sign the record
@@calebbrightwell774 I was being very sarcastic, lol. I agree with you. I grew up with Hank and have always loved him. I’ve seen him humble and awesome, I’ve seen him drunk and a total jerk. He’s so full of himself here, it made me feel a little sick for the guys in the room. Sad to see such an ego.
@@TheRoadDawg An uncle of mine years ago bootlegged here in Florence, Alabama. One day, someone came in to buy some booze. He told my uncle a VERY famous country singer was in the car. I won’t mention any name. That being said, I like Hank Jr’s music. I feel he made his own mark with his own style after a few years performing.
@@rickeykeeton4770 I grew up knowing every word of every Hank Jr song. He was an icon to me for sure. I saw him at least 5 times in concert, from a 45 minute drunken disaster in Columbia, SC, to a 29 song (album perfect) concert in Greenwood, SC. I just hate that he has gotten so disconnected from his fan base and is such a tool these days. One side of me thinks he deserves to be so illuminated, the other side of me thinks he is now just a jerk. But I still live to listen to Hank Jr, especially the Live album. I saw that same tour/concert playlist, and it’s one of the best ever. Dwight Yoakum opened for him and came out for the medley…epic!
Appreciate Hank doin this album the A Team band and Dan Auerbach too .Its a great album . Dan did a couple of albums of music from Tony Joe White released after he passed that are good too.
