I like to consider the game these days as the "Smash Ultimate" of the Marvel Games, brings back everyone from the past Marvel VS games (minus one), adds more faces that would become iconic to the series aswell, and is overall a very beloved game
spider man, cyclops, ryu and captain america were chillaxing HARD at the end. great outro lining up characters with similar personas who seem like they would vibe together.
I have never seen the 1P mode of this game and I kinda freaked out when I saw the score go into the millions and even billions! It's like someone from Takumi designed the scoring system for this game!
Yeah, I remember the boss being fairly easy depending on what characters were on your team. Certain moves would just keep you safe and transition boss phases way better than others.
I always used Venom/Cyclops/Adamantium Wolverine in the days when I knew zero about how to actually play fighters. Hyper Combo chains were fun and theirs were easy big damage.
I'm a noob but Abyss is still easy to me. My team is Sabretooth/Blackheart/Spiral, Sabretooth destroys 1st Form Abyss, Spiral just throws swords at 2nd Form, and Blackheart just melts 3rd Form with his supers.
@@Salty-Josh I think its due to the start up and end lag some of his moves and supers have. The delay gives just enough time for good players to react with a block or worse, crossup counter.
@@Salty-Josh Also there are a huge number of shoto characters in MvC2. Ryu, America, Spider, Cyclops, Morgan, Iron man and Sakura. Out of them, Ken just gets lost in the shuffle. His assist is solid, and the rest doesn't really stand out. Actually, if you go with the meta for MvC2 the shoto characters aren't used because they don't build meter fast, they don't do lots of chip damage, and they can't safely avoid fighting for an entire round while building meter and chipping their opponents. Justin Wong's 7 point tier system really revitalized interest in MvC2. Without it you see an endless parade of about 5 characters and it gets real boring real fast. With it, Ken is actually super popular because he is ranked low and his assist is solid.
Obviously that huge amingo tag super combo was a hype as moment. But I think the kind of thing that is so unreal about marvel and sets it apart from other fighting games is moments like @20:12 . This is 8 hit combo absolutely drags his opponent across the screen and against walls. For people who don't know fighting games, when they can see something this cool looking, and is this straight forward to understand, it will draw people in. Wish we could get more of this
Yeah, just emulate them. You can only buy these games used, they're not cheap and Capcom won't see a dime of that. Besides, at this point, even toasters can emulate Dreamcast.
I think it refers to like, how the "main characters" are all newcomers, both figuratively in Cable's new sprite, and literally in Ruby, Amingo and SonSon not even existing before.
I kinda always thought it was referring to this being the first Marvel vs. Capcom of the _New Millennium_ (seeing as it was released in arcades in 2000)...
If this game gets re-released I hope they include a bunch of crazy upscaling options, like high res background rendering and AI sprite upscaling, but also the option to turn each thing off and play in the original 480p game but with simple integer scale.
Always fun to watch if mvc2 gets freed they need to add a mode where pro players like you and justin wong put there skills into the ai and we have to fight your best team. That would be sick as hell
The AI blocked everything in this game if you have it on difficulty level 4 and up. I always thought arcade mode was boring cause of it. However, you can break the AI's guard by forcing it to block low, and then follow up with an aerial heavy normal while they're still in low guarding state.

Capcom needs to release a Marvel Vs Collection, with X-Men: Children of The Atom, Marvel Super Heroes, X-Men Vs Street Fighter, Marvel Super Heroes Vs Street Fighter, Marvel Vs Capcom, and Marvel Vs Capcom 2.
This game is OK, I mean you can certainly Triple Jill All The Way on PS3 which is nice but there aren't as many good characters as UMVC3 and it isn't as difficult to win on ranked. However, I will still turn it on from time to time to Roll up. Good channel.
No you're not imagining it. Abyss's actual form is the huge black sphere inside the slime monster. It appears sporadically in the third fight during the times the slime doesn't cover it and you can hit it to damage it.
Honestly, Amingo seems more like he should be a Red Earth character than a Darkstalkers one, unless he's supposed to be related to Dia de los Muertos or inspired by the same thing as the Pokémon Cacturne or something. Ruby Heart looks like she could be either DS or Red Earth. Anyway, all this game missed was character themes. Sure, it's broken and not intended to be competitive, but who the F should care when you can do so much anyway and indulge in its personality?

"Cable doesn't do any of the things that human players do" [laughs in Rogue AI] AI is VERY MUCH something that needs retuned in the game though, because like you see here... blocking and counter-throwing bullshit just isn't FUN.
Is it just me, or did he put it on the hardest difficulty >> accidentally pick Guile >> reset >> and play on normal difficulty? Or does it save the difficulty even if you reset???
I dunno if this is the right place to ask this, but has there ever been a player who famously used a bottom-tier character to the point that it brought that character out of bottom tier? Because I'm curious to see if there ever was a case like this.
