Is This 'Dangerous Cycling' Under New Law?

A group of cyclists almost runs over a pedestrian crossing, my question is 'Can this be classified as dangerous cycling under new law propossed. "Dangerous cycling" law will be passed following election, Labour and Conservatives confirm. A Labour spokesperson said the party "will change the law to protect people from dangerous cycling", the Conservatives having already committed to resuming the process to pass stricter legislation if they win July's election
In this video a pedestrian runs into the path of moving bikes and one of the cyclists swears at him ... what do you think?

Regardless who is/would be at fault or to blame, that *IS* the stupidest thing to do, walking/running in front of any moving vehicle, endangering your health or someone else's just to get to the other side of the road.

Nope, but if this was a pedestrian challenge you'd have five nonce's giving a dozen reasons why the pedestrian did nothing wrong and had a perfect line through the crossing, not to mention how difficult it is to run on the wet. Oh and who can forget the devient stalker demanding you try jogging for a week and post the results. P.s. you did well to stop under those conditions.

Red pedestrian crossing light. So not covered as the photo on H2 is clear that it’s for junctions where no pedestrians signals are available. So this pedestrian ran a red light. I am sure the trolls will disagree. But they can refer themselves back to the photo which is VERY clear that it’s referring to junctions without light signal. . So if a pedestrian want to RUN across a RED light, then that’s the fault of the pedestrian.

Because the pedestrian stepped into the path of the motorcycle without looking. Of course ashley still managed to blame the motorcyclist for something…. Would ashley neal have done the exact same thing if he was the One driving? Very likely so. Hind sight gang.

@@roadbiker8333 in that clip i blame the hedg if the council cared to cut it maybe the motor cycle rider would have time to have avoided hitting the pedestrian.also the pedestrian should have looked. the husband also should have pulled her back , i would have turnd more as a biker.she was lucky the biker was going slow :(

Actually this comes under the existing Highway Code - Pedestrians have the highest priority as they are the most vulnerable, then cyclists. So if you want to go down the road of downgrading pedestrians, then what's to stop them downgrading cyclists ? That simply puts everyone back to where we was before the changes to the Highway code - A loss. Fact is people walk out at traffic lights because it takes so long for pedestrians to get the green man light to cross - So cyclists just slow down and keep an eye out because under the highway Code you will in 99 percent of cases lose in court if sued by a pedestrian you have hit., even if the pedestrian walked out because by law you owe them a duty of care.

I struggle to get worked up about people bumping into each other when no motors are involved. Bikes-with-motors need to be all treated the same in law. Laws adding jeopardy to people getting around under their own power are madness.

Of course this isn't dangerous cycling. The pedestrian ran into the path of the bikes, who stop. If I jumped off of abridge, would you blame the bridge?

The cyclists went through on a green light and the pedestrian ran across the road on a red light. I fail to see what the cyclists did wrong. The end part of the footage, not using the cycle lane and weaving through traffic, yes. But the crossing, no.
