Some day that Juno is going to make a break for it and head for an open door and down the road it'll go. You'll find it in a Bar somewhere in Town with a beer on top and a cigarette in its side earning a well deserved break.
His dad speaks like a true farmer. Most of my extended family are farmers, and always judgements are reserved until they see how it goes. Doesn't matter what.
That "flap" on the front is very useful for scraping up to a wall or another obstacle. You pick it up and hang it down almost vertical and you can back blade with it, then turn around and push it with the big part. Another awesome thing about those tire scrapers is that they last forever. We scraped three times a day on our 200+ head dairy, and the thing was seriously old. Plus, when it was worn to the point of not functioning any more, we put a new tire on ourselves, and just kept it going. Quartering the tire was tough and it was not a smooth cut at all, but we just let the grooved concrete even it out naturally. I think there are old mixer wagons that use tires big enough to fit them, so it was a free fix, other than the time.
I think you’ll love that scraper. We had one for scraping our heifer alley’s and the ability you have to press it into the concrete, along with the ability to pull backwards, and get right in against the edge of the bed will pay dividends in getting everything cleaner compared to your other scraper.
I hardly knew you without your overalls. It's nice to see somebody making use of those huge tires. I bet it lasts too. Busy day for the SDK and a good video. Peace.
Jan, you probably need a little vacation time Buddy. You were positively giddy about scrapping manure and that ain't normal. And I think the only reason you bought that scrapper was just so you could pass by Tim Horton's and get a breakfast biscuit and a cup of coffee! You really should try to get out more!
I worked for a john deere dealer in south dakota and we have a lot of dairies in the area and serviced a lot of mensch equipment great company to work with.
I live 1 minute from Tim’s and since my daughter works there, I pick her up for work and return her to her home after. I usually limit myself to one coffee a day but with roll up the rim now I don’t always succeed. 👍 👌
Looks like the "tire scrapper" is working well. I also frequented Tim Horton's on my monthly business trips to Toronto & Montreal; and was very happy when they opened a location in my office building in Boston, Massachusetts a few years before I retired. 🚜 🚜 🚜🐄🐄🐄🐄 🚜 🚜 🚜
Yep, I think the new scrapper was a great investment. And, I learned why you weren’t scrapping close to the curb with the old scrapper. Now a question. In group 1, the cow you patted as you were getting close to the parlor, is she a three quartered cow or just real lite in the rear right quarter ad viewed from behind?
Looks like a great idea for a scraper, and maybe a way to use your old tractor tires if you can work with those things easy enough. They are big and gangly. You could cut a wedge in the two sides rather than have the blunt end, but not sure if that would help.
Outstanding and only you can make poop clean up interesting. I also like that your family members are warming up to being in your videos; this makes (videos) a little better. Have good day.
Another great video, the song birds and Canada Geese have returned to NW Saskatchewan! We might tbe headed towards spring. I got my SaskDutch Kid Tee this week, can’t wait to be able to wear it around outside.
I may watch a dairy farming channel or two. And I've found that the Juno is a love hate relationship. Love them when its self reliant and hate them when the act up. Also seem to be pretty expensive when repairs are needed. Are they other options for something similar? Brands?
Hello from Airdrie, AB. I'm really enjoying your videos! I have Dutch heritage and my dad was raised on a dairy farm. I grew up on a small beef operation and miss the farming life. Your facilities are beautiful. Cheers!
Love your content man, ceep it up!! Love seeing the diffrrence from farming in Canada to Norway in general. I use to beon my grandpas sheep farm alot, he has a smaal farm with 60-70 sheeps
i used those rubber tire scrapers many times in my old dairy career and they worked great! the back scrape edge will break in and it will clean so good!!
For the bobcat just make some cheap fenders out of rubber plastic or something and then It won’t get as dirty as much just a suggestion keep up the good work
I mean this in the nicest possible way Jan but you are a freak of nature. At 21 you seem to be able to lay your hand to anything. Such great accomplishments at such a young age. Well done you. I have a 21 year old nephew and he'd be battling to use the remote to change the tv channel.
Rubber tire is all we every used once and a while we would use a bucket we loved them but every one is different hope you like it yes it the long run it payes to keep it sprayed off you can tell who has the money lol
We’ve been using those kind of scrapers on our dairy for almost 20 years. The sand will wear the tire out eventually but it should last 5 years or more
Love the channel. I'd like to see a video of you watching the cows walking by and what you look for. And point out what you need to be on the look out for
I think it will be a long time coming before Timmies opens a location in Kansas. Folks in Buffalo love their Timmies. They have line ups a block long to get into the drive thru.
I'm used to mouth the words over the normal outro. I was surprise by the outcome of this one! Hahaha! All jokes asides, I've recieve my grey hoodie from your merch and it is really neat and comfy!🤘
At least if you needed to replace the tyre, you could just find and get for free or buy a cheap scrap tyre similar to replace instead of buying a whole new set up....keep up the great work Jan.
Jan, can't you get a foldable scraper that you can do a ally in one run. Every time i didn't understand you left so much manure right behind the beds. That's the most important area to keep the cows clean. But that's solved now. Beautiful farm btw
So, I was surprised that the wheeled scraper actual moved material along the curb. I thought, due to the curve, it would leave more along the curb. Are there replacement rubber for the scraper so you do not have to buy the metal attachment? Nice audience.🍁👍😎
