Yo this is superfrog from C3V, always love seeing people check out our stuff! Merry Men are one of my favorite factions we built, glad you could pick some up :)
there aren't many things that make me happier than knowing the community is still around, and that the game continues to thrive in its own unique way. i hope the younger generations discover scape and fall in love just as I did all those years ago. these videos brought me back, and man the memories are good
Thanks for watching! The remaining community is small but absolutely die hard and like you said, the game is still alive in its own unique way. We'll see if the new generation (who didn't grow up with it at all) will take to it!
This is what this Community needs someone to educate new fans as well current fans about how to keep making this game relevant and fun! Thank you table top bro👍🏻. We should talk about heroScape sometime.
Rock on man. You really do like this game. Really enjoy listening to someone talk about stuff they are passionate about even if I have no interest in the subject. The excitement and the joy make it worth the watch. Have you considered 3d printed figures? I mean there has to be people who have made copies of the original figures and that may be an option to get the figures that you want with the official look? just a thought. Keep tossing out great content my bro! Thanks!
Thanks Andrew! I always appreciate your comments. I enjoy playing the game like any board game, but the collecting aspect really gets me going. 3D printing kinda gets rid of that aspect BUT makes collecting customs cheaper! So not a bad idea!
@@tabletopbro yeah its one of those situations that you have to decide do you want to play and have cool units to play vs. the collection aspect of the game. That is the problem with out of print games. The prices can only go up.
Thx for sharing your experience! Been late to the game, with HS moving to WotC and D&D, there is a lot of great minis to choose from and Heroscapers does an amazing job of balancing and filling synergie holes especially for Generals like Aquilla and Valkrill, but I'm lazy af... I just wish smb. would sell all the C3G/SoV sets;o) But your video motivated me to keep at it! Cheers!
Amazing video! I remember going through the exact array of emotions discovering c3v. But the units are now either the same price as the original heroscape or even comparing to the rare units like morgoloth and vulcamechs. I am a passionate collector and enjoy seeing videos on heroscape! Thank you for making it and I am excited to see more of your heroscape videos
Man.. if you made a video showcasing map building/ scenario battles in Heroscape with this production quality it'd be absolutely amazing. These are the best HS videos I've ever watched, good work🤝🍻
Thanks Kelly! I've never thought about map building/scenario battles (dunno how to make them different and entertaining) but if there's interest I'll do some brainstorming!
It’d definitely be nice, but the community’s too small. Even if the stragglers are die hard. There’s a couple terrain sellers on Etsy! I haven’t tried them yet but definitely will check them out when I have more excess cash.
If someone could manufacture a good, plain brown version of the tile set, that would be ideal. Thelat way you could use your official tiles for the top layer, but all the elevation would be the 3rd party stuff. Hopefully they can be made out of a more durable plastic as well, because the original tiles are degrading (crumbling, snapping) every year. The long range problem will definitely become tiles.
It’s also a good note that the community has constructed a replica of the game in tabletop simulator. This is also a challenge since players are hard to find
Someone made a great video on it. I should honestly probably pull trig on it but there’s an itch of collecting the figures that Tabletop Simulator just doesn’t scratch

Definitely recommend c3g, highly active and makes a ton of units that are highly creative with best synergy networks. They build off the marvel expansion and have mechanics that arent touched by the base game to include new terrain, uses for the blank side of dice, destructible object rules for all terrain and even ways to play on additional boards or destroy the current one! If I recall correctly they also just released a way, 17 units for Febraury and they release a lot! Not just annually either.
Yeah they released their Spider-man wave in December and just launched GI Joe last weekend! I've found those minis are a TOUCH harder to find than C3V, but it's still a solid option!
@@tannermccollum7060 OHHH gotcha! I think I've seen a couple threads of people who use those for Heroscape. I'll have to check it out! Thanks for the tip
@@tabletopbro so I have both AOTP and heroscape, one of these days I'm thinking of playing a game with both. However, knowing that AOTP has a different scoring and health mechanisms than heroscape, I was thinking of house rules where you set a score limit for heroscape pieces, and a separate score limit for AOTP pieces, as well as forcing AOTP squads to have 1 hit point like the heroscape squads
I've come across a lot of custom characters with cards on ebay that I've wanted to get for one reason or another. My issue is balancing. Because they're custom made by the fans and not the actual creators of the game, it's possible to accidentally make a hero or squad either OP or too weak to do anything, while the original creators knew how to balance the pieces they designed. So I'm wondering if people have played with these customs and saw a positive or negative difference in balance
If it’s a C3V (custom card creators of Valhalla) or SOV (Soldiers of Valhalla) unit/card then it’ll work with the original units. Like I said in the video, they’re the closest to official an unofficial unit can get. The members of both projects do extensive play testing and balancing to make sure each card release will in fact work with the official units.
@@tabletopbro if I were to ebay shopping for customs, how would I know what's a c3v or sov custom? Update: okay. So the listings actually spell it out in the name so that answers my question. So c3v or sov customs are the best ones to get then
Lol for a while I was the reason the m 43 and Marro gnids were sold out on eBay, for about a year I was sitting on over 12 squads of m 43 and 9 squads of gnids. (Ended up selling 4 squads of m 43.)
I played this game all the time when I was like 8 to 14 years old. Had every set 2 castles the lava and ice the spiders probably over 1000$ easy for everything I had in great condition mind you. Lost it all in a storage unit cuz parents liked drugs lolllll
Oh man that’s absolutely brutal, I’m sorry you had to deal with that. Any thoughts on trying to restore some of the collection or are you just taking the L?
