This is the best and clearest explanation I've seen to enable this device as part of a mesh set up. The instructions provided by tp link are woeful and that's a pity as the device itself is excellent.

Thank you for you amazing explanation. I got a question please . I'll be starting working from home very soon and my company requires me to use cable internet only , no Wi-Fi. As I'm renting and live in the basement (main router is upstairs , very far from my location) I was initially thinking to install new internet line in the basement but it'll cost me more than $600 a year. I was therefore wondering if I could use this extender and link it to my iMac , using an ethernet cable?

A very helpful review, thank you. Can you please tell me, if I wish to use the repeater just as an access point, do I need to keep the cable from my router connected after setup? Or can it be wirelessly connected to the router and still work as an access point? Thank you

I am not tech minded at all, but I was sick of poor wifi in my bedroom, so after watching a review of this extender elsewhere I bought one. It was fairly easy to set up, even for me and although did get a teeny bit muddled, within in 30 minutes it was set up and connected and it works brilliantly. It is in my hall so I don’t get annoyed by the bright light from it.

Question, does onemesh work with routers other than tp link? And when you activate onemesh do you see multiple networks on your devices or does the repeater adopt the router name and password?

Your internet speed is too slow, I think you'll get the same 20's without that extender on the first floor, you should've tested it with i net speed of at least 100Mbps and put the extender at least 15 meters/50 feet away, will you still get almost 100Mbps beside the extender?

Do you need a router or can you connect from your wifi

I have smart devices that only work on 2.4ghz but my main WiFi is 5ghz will this help me to connect to 2.4ghz so I can set up my smart devices?

Your router and range extender is cable of much higher speeds 200+ mbps , you should opt for a higher speed plan to make the most out of it

I bought this on Amazon and it worked well for a week then I went to turn it on and it didn't work anymore, I returned it and got my money back. Has anyone else had this problem?
