Crusoe might not know it now, but he’s having the best childhood any child could hope for. You have two amazing boys, love how Sawyer smiles all the time ❤
Oh I so agree. I feel like a grandma to them. Watching them grow and thrive. Sawyer's smiles and giggles and Crusoe's freedom and vocabulary, the exploring he does, his independence shinning brightly. I could go on. 😊❤
That was my childhood living in a big farm in Puerto Rico lots to do and grow with amazing animals that was to me the most healthier environment and happy life. Such great memories rest in peace dad I will always love you and thank you for teaching me so many things outside and indoors I became such a handywoman because of you ❤
So much fun watching the boys in fast motion moving the soil around on the Hobbit House.. I don’t believe your intros are negative as someone else commented.. You are doing a wonderful job!
Nice place, I like the American style open kitchen, so definitely open up that wall, use the smallest room as a walk in closet - if you can merge the bathroom wall with the smaller room and make it into a nice bathroom with a walk in closet. The storage room will turn into a pantry!!
Thanks Ari, ling term agreed. Current thinking is that this plastic is fairly temporary, with a bigger project in mind that will require modifying the hobbit house later in the year. Great to hear from you, thanks for watching friend.
Hi Guys, just like to comment on Crusoe, his ability to do what he does at his age is just amazing he is so natural, ok good luck on all the projects......
Oooo i hope you scatter some wild flower seeds in spring over the hobbit house! They love some bare earth and it would look amazing for instant beautification!
6:45 Wow you looked so stressed at seven minutes in. But it's not your fault, you really can't help, and I can imagine it must get a bit awkward filming all their difficulties, as well as their best bits. But. They did it. And you can make it up to them with all those things that good neighbours can do. You're so lucky to have them. PS I had to chuckle at the incredible bit of single handed wrapping that John pulled off. Hats off to you. PPS i'm actually quite jealous of the lovely long convivial dinner you're all going to have in the coming weeks.
I just love the idea of the Time capsule .The boys get more and more adorable each time I see them. Nice work John your build. I suppose it does not help with the constant rain. With any projects you would like to do. Glad they got the tractor out, hoping you dont have anymore landslides with all the rain. Loved watching Tara John Crusoe and Sawyer😘
It’s so fun to watch Sawyer starting to talk. He got so excited doing the time capsule project. I remember when Caruso was this age. Such darling boys!
Good work team. I love how the hobbit house is developing. It was lovely to see Crusoe there in the mix of things. Time capsule is a wonderful idea. Good work Tara. Cheers until next time.
What an emotional video,Tara. You're a sensitive person thinking of leaving memories to future people..making a summary of your living moment where everyone is included. Love you all.what wonderful parenting for beloved Crusoe and Sawyer.❤❤❤
those tiny tractor tracks are probably nothing compared to the mess that is going to happen when the building site for the new house happens, i am sorry to say. so chin up! and the best of luck.
Tara! Seems to me like with Johns new talent of building with cinder blocks he needs to build a retaining wall to stabilize the drop down on your land before you can build the pool. Needs drainage tubs to funnel some of the moisture coming down from your neighbours above… will probably end up below into the pool.
Mud slides after heavy rains are always a worry. All you can do is plant a load of grass plugs and pray they grow fast before it rains! Saying that, the hobbit garage looks very cool! I love seeing Joal working with Caruso. He is so very sweet and patient with Caruso as he learns to move soil. Enjoy your progress! Have a beer to celebrate! Love and light to you all. 🍺💕
You can also put rocks between the mud. It is'nt the same as the roots but is a help. Or you can put another plastic above the mud when it rains until the grass is grouwn... That's an idea...
Another 'Real Life' family video, so pleased you share it with us. What John does with each project will, am sure, have his families safety in first place. Can already envision what the Hobbit House will look like, Love it!!
Oh the boys!!! How different they are but blend so well. Crusoe has always been so serious and Sawyer is a chuckle/ belly laugh going somewhere to happen! It’s so hard for children to give up their old toys…..used to have our 5 pick one every year for the Salvation Army toy drive. It’s good for them to learn at an early age to think of others don’t you think? The place is looking so good, so much hard work from you two and neighbors and now it is blossoming into a real beauty. Many hugs to all. See you next post🤗🤗👍👍👏🏻👏🏻👏🏻👏🏻👏🏻👏🏻🙏🙏
Oh the tractor almost disappearing was awful! When a tractor is in trouble it really is bad, so thank goodness for their quick action in cutting away the wall-side to make room! The time capsule is such a lovely idea ☺ I hope it is found and brings as much joy to those who find it as it has to you putting it together. Are you going to add the clip of you making it to the memory card? The soil being added to the Hobbit House reminds me of the way that fallen leaves, (which I know so many people find untidy), manage to soften the harsh edges where they gather along paths and roads. It's just softened the building beautifully, and when John makes the few little building additions so it can go all over the sides it will look so snug! *Hugs * to you all! xx
Hi Kimberley, yeah it was a tough situation there for a while, the driver though is very experienced and did well. Job moves on at a pace and pretty soon we should be moving on to the next project. Did someone say treehouse?!! ;)
LOVE THE TIME CAPSULE. Wish we could fast forward in life and see the family opening it. 😊 I never quite know at the beginning what John is building…BUT always guaranteed it’s going to be fabulous!!! Fantastic video and job guys! ~Cara ❤
Thanks Cara, I know right! I always wonder if people find them and what their thoughts are. I know we would love to find something like this, so special. John has quite an incredible creative brain, he has some tricks up his sleeve with this one too... thanks for always supporting us friend 🚜❤️🙏🏼😊🇵🇹🏠
Yep. It's the paradox of hydraulic machinery, with tracks or wheels. They do so much damage through compaction (which is hard to fix, if at all) and yet can do the work of a dozen people, and create light fluffy planting soil at the same time... And move mountains of stuff. At the end of the day, roads are roads, since forever, and they can always pull a big hook through where they've been.
Hi beautiful people ❤.just love watching the boys t get her.you know Tara I was watching the video to day when you were going into hospital to deliver sawyer.how times flys.my tears started running down my face .you were so emotional.i have being with you guys all the years never missed one video.i hope one day I will meet you guys in real .love you guys❤❤❤❤
Hello Catrina, ah wow can't believe that Sawyer is over a year old already. Time is literally flying by. Thank you for supporting us all the way and over the years 🚜❤️🙏🏼😊🇵🇹🏠
I hope you don't tear down the beautiful little house your living in. It is so sweet and beautiful. You did a wonderful job renovating it. Would be see it go!❤😊❤❤
I can’t even imagine what a little person like Sawyer must feel and think of the freedom of being mobile with his walking and exploring but mommy and daddy are watching. He’s growing like as they say a bad weed but he’s a sweet weed. lol. Oh Crusoe that’s John so funny. Time capsule great idea. Take care.
We love that our boys have the freedom to run around on the farm (but being safe at the same time). He is growing up so quickly! Thanks for the love, we will see you again on Sunday 🚜❤️🙏🏼😊🇵🇹🏠
Hah. We buried a honey jar time capsule under a waist high giant Redwood to inaugurate a new arboretum, 20+ years ago. I doubt it will survive, let alone ever be found. Which is fine. I have no memory of what was in it, must try and ask which family member was taking pictures! Trees grow fast, plant one NOW!
🙂💕🌾 so love the time capsule idea and I feel for you Tara regarding writing a note - that seems to be less and less used these days. Sawyer and Crusoe are such happy little boys even when they have to give up a beloved toy. Hope you’re having a wonderful time so far in India!!
Hi friends, great to hear from you. I was quite surprised to see how hard the writing was for me, I should really do more of it. We are not in India just yet, but we leave pretty soon! Can't wait 🚜❤️🙏🏼😊🇵🇹🏠
The hobbit house is coming along nicely. Thank you, Senior Augustino and Joel. Get some rest, John. The time capsule is a neat idea. That is my special tractor! How cute!
Maybe reinforce the terrace so you have road access year round? Wire cage filled with rock is what I see a lot of where I live. If you’re able to run a grader behind the tractor that would help with the ruts? They look deep. Looking forward to seeing the hobbit house finished 🌱💚❤️ Don’t bury the “special” digger mom🤣❤️
Thanks for that suggestion Stephanie, something to look at for sure. The special digger is never allowed to leave his hands haha thanks for the support friend 🚜❤️🙏🏼😊🇵🇹🏠
The time capsule is a wonderful idea Maybe someday Crusoe and Sawyer will take their grandchildren to the hobbit house to look for it? With all the craziness in the world it so amazing to see how you are raising your boys. I admire youband John for your intentionally in creating this amazing life path for your family. Thank you for sharing your journey ❤ from Canada 🇨🇦
When saving something that is written for a long time....use lead pencil. It does not fade like ink....we use it when describing people in picture to last for a 100+ years.
I googled for you ideas to stop the slopes from falling and this is what i found for you: In order to prevent slope erosion, plant grass and other vegetation. Grasses are great for slope stabilization because of their roots. They also absorb rainwater and other precipitation, making water erosion less common.
🙂💕🌾 so love the time capsule idea and I feel for you Tara regarding writing a note - that seems to be less and less used these days. Sawyer and Crusoe are such happy little boys even when they have to give up a beloved toy. Hope you’re having a wonderful time so far in India!!
I disagree with the last comment 😮! I have always admired your positivity...but life isn't always rainbows & sunshine 100% of the time for anyone! I wanna say that I appreciate you keeping it REAL! I absolutely Love all of your vlogs...my favorite & you always make me smile! "Crack on" as I often hear you say! You guys are Awesome & amazing!👏❤🏠 🥰💞🙏🎑
The hobbit house is coming along really well. I thought that was going to be Crusoe's reaction about the digger, bless him but great getting them both involved x
Tara I love the time capsule, such a thoughtful and fun thing to do and boys input was priceless 🤩❤️ I also love the kindness of your neighbours helping you build, shift , take down, plant and create your beautiful property ❤️🙏
You have to put same jute mats on the soil fix them and than put gras and flower seets on it. We do that on the sites of our highway canyons. It works very good to fix the soil.
A Hobbit house, time capsules, diggers and a tractor, mud and rain, all ingredients for young boys to have a wonderful life full of adventure. And maybe for the gorwn-ups to. It's all getting along nicely. Have a lovely week and see you Sunday.
Don't feel manipulated at all...... So many of Utube are unashamedly false and click bait...... Absolutely not in this case... Loving the journey with you all!
Tara this just the beginning of the tire tracks and earth moving around the property it will be in flux for several years but it will be beautiful in the end we have been on our property for 23years and sometimes I thought it was never going to be finished. You will survive the many editions in the building of your dream. Enjoy the process and know that your men both big and small are relishing the building of your property. Our grandchildren learned to operate equipment during our odyssey. Grass rejuvenates and dirt compacts and it will get much worse before it gets better. Roll with it. I am with you and I promise it will get better. Blessings from Canada 🇨🇦
Loved every second! The time capsule is awesome. Hope it stayed a secret for hundreds of years. I’m thankful the hobbit house is safely buried, with no tractor harmed. Love you Newbys! Beautiful video!🩷💕
Hi Newbys, it seems you have to walk a very fine line with the titles, old timers like me know what you're referring to but obviously some people see the teasers as 'click bait!' You don't need to draw people in with shock titles as your lovely family content and exciting ideas and projects do just that.
Hi Claire, good to hear from you friend. We definitely try hard to keep our titles as real and relevant as possible, I would encourage everyone here to look back at our last 10 videos as evidence of this, and in fact if you have watched this video then the title and thumb nail probably also seem fairly benign and inoffensive, this is because you know what the title relates to; you have watched the content and seen us almost concluding a build and making it disappear under some soil. “End and Gone” two words which seem to have sparked an important debate! The truth about titles and thumbnails is that they need to remain relevant, and true to the video, but like movie posters they also need to capture the imagination. It’s a very hard job getting it spot on. Trust me the rewards for those people who do get it right are huge, and for the excellent content out there that is overlooked because of poor presentation, well that’s a terrible shame. If anyone reading this would like me to make a short video explaining this in detail, please do let me know, happy to weigh in with a few YT insights. Thanks so much Claire, as always we really appreciate your support.
It looks like you need retaining walls on those terraces to keep them from collapsing! Nice job on that hobbit house storage building! It is so nice to have extra help from people who know what they are doing!
We’re going to bury our own time capsule now. Watching y’all and thinking…hope someone uncovers this when your boys are old men and it brings them great joyous memories. great video.
Olá, que Linda Família 😍 Adorei, ver o menino com uma picareta na mão, já parecia um Português 🇵🇹 a trabalhar com o seu Pai. Hello John, Tara, Crusoe, & Sawyer 👋❤ busy busy busy, I’m so thankful that you have a lot of good help. Can’t wait to see the results. Love you guys. Bjs
I love your neighbours. The dad and his so. Are extremely knowledgeable and very handy……I am sure you have learned a lot from their experiences as they have lived there.
Tara, the time capsule was a lovely idea. Love the way hobbit house is turning out to be. I was as excited as Crusoe and Sawyer on seeing the tractor 🚜 today🤣🤣🤣 thanks for bringing that simple joy in my life today!!! Love all the way from India🙏
Great video, I love everything about this channel and I’m excited for everything with the explore channel too. I have the hardest time finding fulfillment in popular entertainment. I can’t put it into words but your videos remind me of the home and garden channel from the 90s. I always feel inspired after watching an episode, either to create something in my own space or go out and explore another. That’s a great thing to go with morning coffee, thanks Newbys!
Hi Amanda, what a lovely comment to read. A huge thank you, especially nice to read today because the focus seems to be on our titles and not the content. We are very grateful to you friend. 👍🙏❤️🤗
