In men, hair often begins to recede from the forehead.
Male-pattern baldness
Women tend to lose hair along the part.
Female-pattern baldness
Patchy hair loss (alopecia areata) is sometimes preceded by itchy or painful scalp.
Patchy hair loss (alopecia areata)
Repeated stress on the hair can cause a type of hair loss called traction alopecia.
Traction alopecia
t's becoming increasingly common for menopausal women to experience frontal fibrosing alopecia, in which the hairline moves back.
Frontal fibrosing alopecia
Hair loss can appear in many different ways, depending on what's causing it. It can come on suddenly or gradually and affect just your scalp or your whole body.
Signs and symptoms of hair loss may include:
Gradual thinning on top of head. This is the most common type of hair loss, affecting people as they age. In men, hair often begins to recede at the hairline on the forehead. Women typically have a broadening of the part in their hair. An increasingly common hair loss pattern in older women is a receding hairline (frontal fibrosing alopecia).
Circular or patchy bald spots. Some people lose hair in circular or patchy bald spots on the scalp, beard or eyebrows. Your skin may become itchy or painful before the hair falls out.
Sudden loosening of hair. A physical or emotional shock can cause hair to loosen. Handfuls of hair may come out when combing or washing your hair or even after gentle tugging. This type of hair loss usually causes overall hair thinning but is temporary.
Full-body hair loss. Some conditions and medical treatments, such as chemotherapy for cancer, can result in the loss of hair all over your body. The hair usually grows back.
Patches of scaling that spread over the scalp. This is a sign of ringworm. It may be accompanied by broken hair, redness, swelling and, at times, oozing.
When to see a doctor
See your doctor if you are distressed by persistent hair loss in you or your child and want to pursue treatment. For women who are experiencing a receding hairline (frontal fibrosing alopecia), talk with your doctor about early treatment to avoid significant permanent baldness.
Also talk to your doctor if you notice sudden or patchy hair loss or more than usual hair loss when combing or washing your or your child's hair. Sudden hair loss can signal an underlying medical condition that requires treatment.
People typically lose 50 to 100 hairs a day. This usually isn't noticeable because new hair is growing in at the same time. Hair loss occurs when new hair doesn't replace the hair that has fallen out.

What system do you have again please? I’m going to have to ask my hair clinic if they are able to source a lace system as I’m new to it and my first unit I think is poly with a very slight lace at the hairline.

Understand the Cap is a security blanket but you're much better to not have it on when doing those kind of work outs as it well weaken the bond and system even quicker.

Going bald sucks., shaved my head in HS barber messed up, I hated it. I was using Rogaine for a few years, which was working pretty well. I used fibers, and stuff. But the whole thing honestly made me depressed and didn't wanna hang out with anyone,. The whole thing was draining, cause it was such a process, and I didn't want anyone to know. The more down I got, the worse my hair got, and the more I just stayed home. Then a couple years ago, I lost one of my jobs. Not having those friends to see, my old boss always on me, about something. It made the whole thing worse. Then I this chick I was kind of seeing, just stopped caring. That deep depression after for like 6 months last year, losing weight working 50+hrs at a new job was the last straw for my hair. I mostly work alone, wear hats a lot which doesn't help. But after watching your videos, and others, plus losing a friend from HS at the beginning of March, that pushed me to get a hair system. Only told my mom for now. You Only Live Once., if it makes me happy, why not. Sadly this whole thing postponed my goal. But... today i got to finally reschedule my appointment. Going next Saturday. I'm excited, but scared. I just wanna feel like me again.

@@pembakarhutan1202 I'm good thanks. Not really happy with the unit I currently have though. Lesson though learned though. For the unit I have, I don't show my hairline, so I can change the tape every 2 weeks. But once I get a new unit I'd go for a week.

I've been following your channel for a few months now, and I have been very inspired by you and your story. You talk a lot about being "better men" and becoming better versions of ourselves? When will you discuss implicit bias? Black Lives Matter.
@JakeKent
@JakeKent 4 года назад
Hey lonnie! Thanks for the comment. I appreciate you being on this journey. I have tested my implicit bias myself... and was surprised at what I found. Could you expand a little more on what you’d like to see?
@bplayerb02
@bplayerb02 4 года назад
@@JakeKent Sure! I'd love to hear you talk directly to your channel about this. What did you find? How did you feel? How can keep learning and becoming a better version of yourself in relation to racism? I am also doing a lot of self-reflection. We all need to do it. You have a following and a platform here. I feel like this moment in time needs us to hit pause and speak up. Post a video dedicated to this topic instead of to hair systems.
@chrise438
@chrise438 4 года назад
I agree with you Lonnie. I certainly believe that black lives matter. My greater belief though is that all lives matter. Regarding discrimination...any kind against any human being is unconscionable to say the least. I agree much more needs to be done. However, I'm not sure this specific channel is appropriate to begin this discussion. Let's be honest, and with all due respect, this is a channel regarding hair systems. And yes, we can all become better men. However, you are bringing up serious social issues that deserve a platform all to its own. Perhaps you should think of starting such a channel. I certainly would follow you and defend justice for all. Now , I'm speaking for myself here. Jake may have his own opinion.
@bplayerb02
@bplayerb02 4 года назад
@@chrise438 I appreciate that you were willing to comment without letting it get heated or emotionally charged. It's a tough thing to do on threads. I'm certainly guilty of it. You're right, this does deserve a platform all it's own (and it has many). But it also needs to reach people who won't seek out those platforms. By the way I'm not saying "I know so much more than you. Listen to me." In fact, I have unknowingly perpetuated racism and implicit bias my entire life without meaning to do so. But I'd like to be a better version of myself. I'd like to stop saying "I don't see color-- everyone is equal" like I was taught to do, and start saying "I see that black & POC humans are not and have not been treated equally and I can help change that". Jake has an incredible opportunity here to help make real change happen. And having seen every single one of his videos, I know that he does want this channel to be more than just about hair systems. It was just a thought for him to do with what he wants.
