Diesels like to be brought up to operating temp, so 30 minutes is kind of the minimum you want to do in them. If you're doing short trips then yes, frequent oil changes.
A month in and i love my dmax xterrain. Had first weekend away last weekend towing our 19.6 van. It went great. Chose it over mazda, Hilux, ranger Amarok due to price, proven motor and trans combo and simplicity (show me someone who uses all the tech). A v6 would-be nice but the four is pretty good.
Hey mate what's Ur advice on 2023 isuzu d-max x terrain? Should I buy 2023 or wait and buy 2024 isuzu d-max x terrain? If u don't mind me asking how much did u pay for Ur x terrain? One of my friends are looking to buy one. So I would like some advice if u can plz
I have a 2022 xterrain. I average 8ltrs/100kms, with a bullbar and a rooftop tent. Very happy and goes everywhere I have wanted to go. Only thing I hate, is the pathetic windscreen wipers and sprayers. Okay in the rain, very inadequate with bugs or dirt on the windscreen. Seats are comfy over any distance. I recommend.
@shanea9613 Hey bro what’s the turning circle like and how does it steer compared to a hilux? Looking at getting one, heard a lot about their reliability
@@sweatymexican3753 my mates got an SR5 Hilux. Nice ute. I cross shopped all of the brands and ended up with the Dmax. It has lighter steering. Which is good at slow speed and in the city. Very reliable and low stressed engine. The turning circle is fine, I usually are cautious as I don't want to scratch my bull bar on something.
Have owned the previous 2013 LSU from new 795000ks ,3 sets of suspension including the factory and it has never let me down Did replace the turbo at 750k Can’t wait for my next one
ive had a dmax since 015 has been a n absolute legend just about to buy another old is still going as good as the day i bought it with nearly 300k on it with lots of towing good tough economical utes
No one ever reviews an Ute as rear passenger, while it's being driven. I reckon that the D'max is among the top three most comfortable back seater! Someone please make a review for this as lifestyle items!
I bought my Xterrain for 57k in 2020 great bargain. During covid they had no test cars and nobody wanted to wait 3 to 5 months for a car they havent even driven before. But we had a old D max in the ses doing 520k and when i did the research they kept the same architect of the old engine but made it more reliable and more powerful than the older generation. after owning it for nearly 4 years i have never had to do a recall for my d max when it came to its engine. Ford friends had to bring it back to the dealer mutliple times because of a noise, weird vibration, leaks etc even under warranty its a pain in the a$$ as a owner especially if you pay 10k more than a dmax
I agree I pick my X terrain up on Saturday, in NSW for 65k drive away, or I could have taken the LSU+ for 69k or LSU for 66k. No idea why the x terrain is cheaper.
You’re in the minority. The HiLux offers a higher spec Extra Cab (SR5). You can get a Ranger XLT Super Cab but only with the 2.0L. And D-Max comes as an LS-U Space Cab. But there is not much else.
Good review but can you start talking about some it the accessories you can get with the vehicles? For example you can get a wireless charger fitted as an option
I’ve had my 2023 X Terrain since Jan. already have 45,000 ks., half of which is towing 2t. I also have a 2020 Colorado so can compare. Dmax much better to drive and tows better. I love it. Some things that annoy me though. Collision alert- way too sensitive and a pain to turn off (thank god the lane assist etc is easy to turn off). Agree carplay takes way too long, plus if you lose it in an underground carpark it’s easier to pull over and restart car. Annoying. The wipes have inbuilt water spray, they are crap. The black piano finish interior looks great when just cleaned, 5 minutes later it shows all the dust and dirt. Needs 2 more tiers down points in tray. 3 keys to lock! Different key for tail, cover and entry. Overall, great Ute, wish warranty was 220k, but engine is lazy (I have electric throttle controller fitted, bunch better response) and will last forever I think. I have 220k on Colorado, Dmax engine “feels” stronger so am expecting 500k out of it over next 5 years.
The bump steer horror tyre wear issue is a disaster for Isuzu. Google it but Isuzu says 40k km is acceptable tyre life for the DMax and MUX. Yes, I have a copy of the info from IUA regarding this and it's so bad there are class action lawsuits underway. The paint is a nightmare and the 3.5T tow rating is crazy. I've had one for 60k km now and never again.
@@therightcar the revised alignment specs do not fix the bump steer issue because it's a engineering mistake caused by the steering rack being mounted too high. The new specs just mask the problem and redistribute the wear. If you drive on good roads you'll have no problem but the bigger the undulations the worse it will be. The issue is at its worst at full suspension compression. When Isuzu says acceptable tyre service life is deemed to be 40k km you know they're lying.
This D-Max is going to look and feel very dated when the new Mitsubishi Triton arrives shortly. Personally not a ute fan as I don't have a need for one plus I'm not glued to any brand. After having a new Pajero Sport Exceed for 12 months I'm happy with what it does I don't really do dirt it's basically a tug towing a 1.6 ton touring pop top. I've done Tassie for a month and Vic Highlands and Blue Mountains never felt like I needed anything more out of it. Fuel avg 13.9 ltr
The 1.9L option is complete junk! My last company purchased a bunch of them for us reps and I drove it everyday for work for 3yrs and in no time I was at the chiropractor with back issues every week I had an appointment, the seats were rubbish. My foot lived pinned to the floor 247 just to get it to move, there’s no way it has power to tow anything, trying to move a 1.7t excavator it just doesn’t move. I’d never recommend it and it shouldn’t of even been produced especially in todays market. I ended up quitting work over that stupid Ute I refused to drive it any longer I’d rather leave my job instead.
Agree! I’m not impressed by this gutless noisy thing, it sounds like a cow “mooing” every time you put your foot down. I’ve had a dmax for 3yrs for a company vehicle and I thought it was junk.
Hi youtube.com/@therightcar Thanks for the review Matt - AUZ seems to get some of these Utes faster than we do in South Africa. Was wondering if you know what's coming in 2025 for the Dmax and Triton?
Just get a ranger people these things are terrible if you like you car trying to eject you out the front window at 90km/h with there stupid driver aids that you can’t permanently disable unless you put a sticker over the cameras like the dealer suggested 🤦🏻♂️
