Shazam is actually my favorite character in this show, the dude has them thinking he’s a grown man when he’s just a kid, it’s fantastic

As someone who thought the concept of Aqualad was inherently ridiculous and that I'd never end up liking him, I found it incredible that he ended up being my favorite character on the show. It's actually kind of shocking that he takes center stage a great deal of times, when Robin/Nightwing is in the same episode (Dick Grayson is one of my favorite comic book characters). The man is such an interesting and dedicated leader, who only wants the best for those who work with him.

No mention of icicle jrs sympathic portrayal. He got really likable in just one episode. Season 3 is out in parts already. And superboy changed from angry manchild to composed mentorfigure. Its great.

About Red Arrow’s character development: that was actually the whole point of the Broken Arrow part. Before, he was too resistant to join the Team because he was programmed to enter the League. Sportsmaster reprogrammed him to be nicer to the Team, and then join the League. It’s kinda messed up, actually.

Shazam is my favorite hero of all time. When Billy Batson transforms, people think he turns into what he will look like as an adult, but that's not true. He transforms into what he thinks a hero would look like, he turns into what he remembers his dad looking like. if that doesn't just make you want to cry, idk what will dude. He's the best hero. I am very conflicted about the new movie.

When I saw the kissing scene of M’Gann and Superboy I screamed: “Dude, that’s your sister!”

To answer the question at 6:00 about Superboy somehow knowing she was a white martian, If i remember correctly, near the end of season 1 when Ms. Martian reveals to the group she is a white martian, Superboy mentions that he knew she was a White martian and found out when they linked their minds together when fighting Simon. I think, someone correct me if I'm wrong.

What I find interesting about the episode "Bereft" was that it actually showed Superboy Miss Martian's true form when Miss Martian gave Superbody his memories back, as her own memories overlap with Superboy's. This is obviously important as Miss Martian keeping her true form a secret becomes a huge plot point towards the end of the season. We can only see a split second of it, but it's there. This does admittedly clash a little with the idea that this is Miss Martian in her "Strong" phase. But it does show us that Superboy was willing to have a relationship with Miss Martian that goes deeper than just physical attraction. I think it was a very smart way to do it.

Teen Titans: "Go to the movie" Lowart: *goes back to the original Teen Tiatns instead and starts a whole new series of reviews which helps him improve his reviewing skills and gets his RU-vid channel more popular*

On a rewatch I noticed when Superboy figured it out. Arround 2:04 / 2:05 you can see a flash of Miss Martian white Martian form so Connor figured it out when she restored his memories.^^

You didn't talk about Wolf becoming part of the team in episode 12. It's such a lovable, simple character and Superboy really loves him. In the next episode of the series you're gonna review 1x16 yeeeeeeeessss. I've started crying so many times within 22 minutes with that episode.

I forget that Shazam is also, if not more often, known as Captain Marvel. Thanks for this valuable reminder!

I like how Miss Martian talk in Martian language when loosing her memories and not remembering she's on Earth. Like when Aqualad and Aquaman talk in their mother tongue, at the begining of Ep 8 (and there were subtitles, but he want to believe that they're speking Atlantean the whole episode, but to not had subtiltes all the episode, the voices are in English). They not really do that thing of "Everyone talks in English because is a kids show, and no one wants to read subtitles".There are other examples like Blue Beetle and Bane (whom are both bilingual), Bialyan soldiers, Aliens, ect

One thing you didn't mention with 'Homefront' which I think was more the main point of the episode rather than "Artemis isn't the mole" - In previous episodes, in seems like most of the fights are one because of at least one of the guys with superpowers. How does 'Homefront' start? All the guys with superpowers are immediately taken out, and the only two people without superpowers are left to save the day. Also it highlights a major difference between the two - Artemis starts to panic and constantly feels like they could fail, while Robin has already been doing stuff like this for years and is able to adapt and keep a level head.

Superbly learned when she fixed his memories. You even show it in the video, there is a white Martian seen during the flashes of memories. As well as a clip and audio from the Hello Megan tv show.

One of my favourite parts of the last episode you mentioned was how the other characters react to Batman. Everyone is just afraid of him and back down as soon as he looks at them.

Red Arrow not Speedy, other than that I loved this video. Also Superboy learns about Miss Martian being a white Martian in the episode Beret, when he’s saving his memories. If you slow down that part then you’ll see her true Martian form for a couple of frames. 2:05

I'm really glad that you're starting to warm up to wally. He's one of my favorite characters in all of fiction and i ESPECIALLY like him here in young justice. Waiting for your take on the heart episode because its one of my personal favorite. also can't wait to hear what you have to say about season 2s ending :'^) (kill me)

Yeah Superboy found out Miss Martian was a white martian when they mind-melded in Bialya. During the montage where she's giving him his memories back, there's a flash of Megan's character from the sitcom saying "Hello, Megan!" Following that episode there are pretty frequent hints that he knows.

I dont know if you have the same love for avengers: earths mightiest heroes but I would love if that was the next as great as we remember, one of the best superhero shows imo and much better than avengers assemble

I'm rewatching Young Justice before getting to season 3, and I appreciate this retrospective you've cooked up, but I still want to be ahead of it so I know my own thoughts before hearing yours. Still, if you keep posting them, I'll keep watching them.

I just realized something while watch this video. You seem a bit happier in this video and the FMA videos than you were back towards when you started the teen titan series. I'm happy for you man.

Something else I’d like to mention is that the whole not talking about the mole thing sets precedent for season 2 when Aqualad himself becomes a mole

First off Great video, I've wanted to come back to Comics, not just Young justice for a while after working on stories for years with a close-knit group of friends, however like the group, I needed some time to move on, and also like with the group, Young Justice has had a special place in my heart since I saw a bit of a Season two episode as a little kid, I believe the one where the Villians try to play a Trap Card to the team only for it to backfire, and I've loved it since, however I just haven't had the time to sit down and rewatch it However, thanks to your lovely videos [Part one and Part two so far!], I didn't really need to. Shows like Young Justice have often riddled with more Nostalgia covered holes than Jason Todds Favorite thought of the Joker, but in my personal opinion that's exactly what makes Young Justice so good. There are a lot of shows LIKE Young Justice, but that's because for a lot of us, Young Justice seems to be something so many of us desired growing up! For years, team up's were a massive part of comics, the thought of two of your favorite heroes teaming up together having reached a similar level of popularity as your favorite heroes duking it out, but for a lot of us, Young Justice Scratched an itch that was on a much more personal level to the viewer/reader! While so many of us looked up to the Heroes of the Justice Leauge, so did the members of Young Justice in their own way, creating a bond that was only strengthened by the Diverse Cast, each relating to us in our own individual way, or showing us the importance of different ideologies, as well as our own Personally, as someone who has always suffered from Insecurities and Social Anxiety, Megan has always been a personal favorite, as well as Conner, however that led to Season two becoming pretty difficult to watch for me, however I still enjoyed it, even if the image of what Megan did to that Alien in the Interrogation room STILL haunts me to this day! Well, I'll stop taking up your time buddy! I love what I've seen so far, part one earned you a Like and Sub, however, Part two earned you a Fan! With Reboots being so popular nowadays, it can be difficult to look back and not grimace or find yourself writing an angry review on the current form of your beloved media, so I really appreciate the look back at a Show that brought me so many good memories! I get the feeling that Season Three will make Damien the current Robin for the team, however, that makes me a little uneasy, simply because I don't want to see Tim get shoved to the side like Jason was, but Young Justice Abridged showed us just how well he can fit in! Although, it could be a good way to bring back Teen Titans in a Crossover we've all dreamed about... Have a wonderful day!

this is really just a minor criticism and i don't mean to offend, but recently your thumbnails have been looking really bad. The images are very low quality and blurry and they seem to suffer from not being careful enough when removing the background. By that, I mean a lot of the character will have their outlines missing/missing in some places. Personally, I think that the thumbnails for the teen titans series where the best and most eye-catching. I understand why you're doing it in a different style for the fma vs. fmab series but i think that style needs some work. I'd recommend sticking with the more vibrant colors and backgrounds, the white border is a nice touch as well. Also having the white/black stroke on characters in the thumbnails really make them stand out. Anyways, hope this wasn't too harsh! I'm a big fan of your analysis videos and I'm excited to see what you make next.

Really wish you would've at least mentioned how amazing Robin was in Homefront. While the episode was clearly about Artemis, he was the perfect character for her to play off of, and it really highlighted how much more experienced the kid really was. It was almost sad when he just offhandedly says he's been doing this since he was nine.

Several good episodes in this chunk. I've been trying to figure out if there's any benefit to the two storylines in "Targets" being juxtaposed. To me, it feels like they undermine each other- interrupting a serious mission about espionage and assassination with lighthearted school shenanigans. Theoretically I like both stories, and I guess they kind of contextualize the Rhelasia conflict in the classroom scene, but overall I find they make the episode a bit weaker by having this repeated whiplash- neither tone is allowed to stick around long enough. A much better use of mood whiplash in my opinion hits in "Homefront"- it starts with the day-in-the-life, first day of school stuff, and then switches to the tense action situation, which it then focuses on and builds on for the rest of the episode. I've seen the episode several times and it still hits me like a truck. Anyways, really enjoying your analysis of this series Lowart, and looking forward to everything else you have to say!

Homefront is my favourite episode. Robin is and has always been my favourite dc character and Robin is one of the characters it focuses on. I also love the die hard esque story in which they have nothing and have to rely on purely there wits which is an excellent way of using the only two members of the team who don’t have superpowers.

Finally! I’ve been waiting patiently for this part!

I just realized the parallels between Artemis, Cheshire, Sportsmaster, and her mom. Artemis is blonde like Sportsmaster but she’s a hero, mom has darker hair like Cheshire but she’s a villain. Also how their mom turned her old life to show her children another path.

I've been watching these videos in tandem with catching episodes of season three and all I can say is this show is overall really good. Like it's so well put together and I'm really enjoying it

Great video analysis. I have begun rewatching Young Justice back to back between the first two seasons and the latest third season (Outsiders).

I honestly wish that this show had done a lot more with Shazam. The whole thing where one of the Justice League actually being a kid in secret could've opened up some interesting story opportunities and parallels with the Young Justice, I feel.

I think I missed a lot of this when it aired on TV, but I've really been enjoying your analysis of it.

In the beginning (and the end of the previous part) you're wrong about Kid Flash. His family dinner is a moment of character exposition. Robin/Dick is confused with his father/son - mentor/sidekick relation with Batman/Bruce Wayne. Batman dismisses Robin, Richard gets frustrated, Batman sees this and interacts with Richard as Bruce Wayne. Artemis and Paula interaction is too complex to go into here. Simplified it means that Artemis comes from a broken family, but there's love and support there. Superboy/Megan are both clueless to this world, and are making a home for themselves in the cave. Wally in contrast of this all, is shown to be in a loving stable family that embraced all parts of the superhero life. It's why he's the most normal of the bunch. That might not be as interresting or tragic as the other backgrounds. But it does bring a sense of normalcy to the world YJ create, and it makes the Season 2 ending a bigger deal.

I actually watched this show for the first time about a year ago. I loved it. I agree that there's some issues here and there in season 1, mostly in the early season, but overall, the show was fantastic. No nostalgia goggles on for this one like there was for Teen Titans or Batman TAS, I just liked the show.

One bit of foreshadowing that I noticed my first time viewing this show (I've watched it more times than I care to admit) is in the episode about North/South Ralasia. When Cheshire is captured in prison and speaking to Red Arrow, she almost mentions Artemis, but quickly stops herself mid sentence by saying "Art-chery girl". There is also a later episode in the season where Cheshire jokingly says that she and Red Arrow are dating, to with Artemis freaks out upon hearing. All of this just helps build up all of the interconnected relationships in the show, and it's really cool seeing these things again on separate viewings

When you see the slide show of Ms Martian putting Superboy's memories back together in the Simon episode, you see a quick four frame shot of a single white Martian crawling on the ground on Mars. I believe it was this early on that Superboy knew of Megann's true past.

These videos are great! Young Justice is one of my favorite shows! I don't know if you watched a TV show called Gargoyles when you were younger but if so that would be a great show to do this series on! If not this type of series maybe a review series on it!

I actually felt the same way about Wally. I didn't really love Wally until coldhearted, but from that episode on I think they did a fantastic job with the character and showing his growing maturity even in little scenes especially how they show this growth in season 2. As I've gotten older I've realized I appreciate story lines like Artemis's that contain the message that your past doesn't define you and you can become better than your upbringing. Me and many people that I know have, to a degree, struggled with this so seeing the development handled well and given the time it deserves really resonated with me. I like it when a show can send a message that I know many people need to hear while growing up and I think that is one of the many reasons I believe Young Justice is great.

I would love to see a retrospective review show like this on something like Swat Kats. A true retro show that I personally remember being great, but that might just come from the nostalgia; and does it still hold up compared to shows of today.

It’s probably because of the development and revelations in the episode, but Bereft is my favorite season one episode.

Is Young Justice As Great As We Remember? After spending thre days on full rewatch my answer is no. It is way better then I remembered. I actually cried when Kid Flash died. And this show gave me so much conection for the charcters that wold spend a week at least to rewhatch if there were more seasons.
