Good Job you hit the nail on the head !!! This is Dana Bodnar from Bodnar Boat Works in PHX, AZ. I have been dealing with marine insurance company's for 34 years and have seen the GOOD the BAD and the UGLY. State farm stated value is one of the best you can get and Progressive and Geico are at the bottom.

I actually just switched to State Farm. The agent was very familiar with bass boats and knew exactly what was needed.

@@SteveRogersOutdoors Thanks Steve, I was curious also which company you chose. Luckily I'm with State Farm and getting my quote today. Ranger has finished pinning my boat and it should be here in a couple of weeks. I've subscribed and will be checking out your channel to see what I can learn from you. This is my first bass boat and I need to learn a lot.

1:55 Not quite correct here on "stated value". Yes, they let you write down whatever number you want, but the insurance company will insure UP TO that value or the actual cash value - whichever is less (important). So if you write down $50k and pay for $50k, but they can replace it for $35k, you're only getting $35k. What you're describing would be "agreed value", which is significantly more underwriting and significantly higher priced.

Not true. If you and they agree on a value and your rate is based on that value, they will pay that value on a loss. I know for a fact

@@chriswimberly8152 You are mistaken. There's a difference between "stated value" and "agreed value", which I demonstrated in my comment. The gentlemen in the video references "stated value". What YOU are referring to is "agreed value" - you even said it in your own sentence. I know this for a fact.

@@SteveRogersOutdoors I gave them a call, unfortunately they won’t just insure your boat. Gotta have auto and I believe homeowners ins in order to get a boating policy.
