@@toasteroven8259 yeah to be honest that sounds like a 9 to me, I tend to think of 9's as fully upgraded (excluding only the most expensive of cards like Reserve list CEDH staples, jeweled lotus, mana crypt, moxes, or only having maybe one or two that particularly fits the gameplan) Commander decks, I would also some non-CEDH commanders that are upgraded to the very max I might also include here (example, Gishath with fast mana Will never stand up to CEDH decks in my opinion, I'm not sure Gishath could even be a 9 with unlimited budget). I have 2 decks in my collection that I personally would call a 9, one is Ayara first of locthwain which i think of as a weak 9, it has all the tutors, it runs rituals and sol ring but doesnt tend to run other repeatable fast mana, it has critical mass combos and a 1 card combo with the commander, but the card is 7 mana. It does what is wants to do and and it does it very efficiently but would get completely smoked at a CEDH table. The other is Sythis Harvest hand, which is a stong 9 or maybe a very weak 10; 137 total CMC. for fast mana it runs sol ring and Serra's sanctum, but also runs the relevant 1 mana dorks and wild growth/utopia sprawl/nature's chosen/gemstone caverns. It runs about 10 tutors and it has several win lines where the combo pieces are also useful and relevant on their own. I think this deck might sneak a win maybe once every 10 or 15 games at a CEDH table but would need Some major upgrades to get to a point where it would win 25% of the time (manacrypt, chrome mox, mox diamond, gaea's cradle, survival of the fittest, fetches to thin the deck and to synergise with sylvan library, solitude, endurance, force of vigor, mirri's guile, silence), since I would need to replace about 1/5th of the deck to get it to true CEDH territory I think calling it a strong 9 or fringe CEDH is a fair assessment in my playgroup we each have 2 decks (Tayem, Marchesa the black rose, Tivit, Yisan, Tibalt Cosmic imposter, lord windgrace) that all perform at similar levels, with maybe tivit, sythis and tibalt winning slightly more games than the other 5

Just remember that having a deck that's a 7 is like being middle-class. Everybody thinks they are, but nobody really is.

I have a muxus goblins deck that i know for a fact after having played it so many times that wothout a doubt is an 8. Its way too consistent to not be

no way... too vulnerable to wipes... I have 20 decks that will confidently say are ALL 5's because I spread all the "good" cards across 20 decks... I have one 7 and that is arixmethes and it is only a 7 because simic... and it has my only copy of cyclonic rift... and it WILL DRAW into it...and it WILL CAST is multiple times...and it WILL RESOLVE 50% of those... that isn't the wincon, but my wife beats people with it and she is only playing to be a participant... she isn't a magic player, she just sits in to fill a table.

Gotta add in some consistency such as tutors or deck thinners, maybe some pure draw spells. Have you looked at your mana base? I bet you can get your deck to a true 7 in no time if you gave it some love.

@deadNdivine12 I am indeed. Fearsome welp, was running Cabaretti Revels. A little unsure if I should put that back in the deck. The random factor almost outweighs the plus of having a free Dragon. Even if they countered you original cast

I hate to be the person who says "7", but I would say it's mid to mid+ in power! Kaalia by nature is a scary commander but if it's removed a couple of times early, I need a few turns to catch up and play the big spells from my hand. I'd say it's scarier than 2015 Kaalia decks because it has better mana production with things like Smothering Tithe, Grim Hireling, Ancient Copper Dragon etc and better/more removal, but at its core, it can still be very slow because I have so many 6-8 drops in the deck!

@@NitpickingNerds no, it had a lot of janky stuff and l had only played it once before. I've added a bit since so maybe it's a 7.4 now 🤷‍♂️ Angel deck was definitely not a 7 though!

It sounds more like your PLAYGROUP is the ones playing to win, but dont want to actually take the steps to do so. I dont see why they would get upset about losing so much otherwise. Ive gone on twenty game losing streaks and still got back up for another
