I absolutely adore the disc. I find it more comfortable than a lot of cups I've tried. I don't experience leaks often but I always wear a reusable liner just in case
I don’t like auto dumping. When it does auto dump, I always take it out, rinse it, and reinsert or else there will be red spotting from the residual blood that came out. It wouldn’t be as bad if I wore a panty liner, but I want to avoid any external period product if I can. That’s just me!
Have you considered trying some light weight period underwear? Saalt makes some really nice thin ones that are also still cute to wear, so they don't feel like an external product. I've used them when trying out new discs and it works great at catching even bigger leaks, AND unlike disposable pads/liners, there's no smell!
@@chaoticgood8645Yes I have quite a few pairs of different brands, but the waterproof layer creates too much humidity for me to be comfortable if that makes sense.
@@crescentmu yeah that totally makes sense. I think as thin and "breathable" as brands try to make their period underwear, it still feels kind of like wearing a swimsuit bottom for underwear, is the best I can describe it. My preference is to not worry about my disc and go without the special panties, but they can be handy when you need them for bigger leaks when you're not sure but don't want chafing from a pad/liner.
The disc and auto-dumping is a game changer for me!!! 💖 I have a very heavy period on my first two days. Needed to take a cup out so often to empty it out that everything would hurt down there. And I hated the bladder pressure with the cup. The disc really changed my life for the better!!! 💗 And auto-dumping is what really makes my life so much easier! ✨ I love my disc and I wish I would have had such an awesome solution way earlier in my life!
what do you mean? I have a tilted uterus and though I absolutely adore the disc for comfort, I feel like it's not locked into place...maybe my pubic bone doesn't protrude enough? I dunno
I love my disc, I can wear it long, I don't have half as many cramps! And also I'm not dashing to the store because I started and I ran outta tampons last month, and I feel better, I'm not just dumping a crap ton of tampons every month in the land fill and the disc is better for my health, it doesn't have all that rayon which makes u bleed more, and honestly I save money!! All around a win win, it does take a little bit to get used to but once u do u will absolutely love it 🥰🥰🥰
I just want to say as someone with interstitial cystitis to anyone else who has it, it is uncomfortable to even wear a tampon. I tried a menstrual disk once and getting it in nearly killed me.(sooo painful) but I was able to wear a cup with no issue. Sometimes I peed a little slower or I felt like it was harder to pee.... But I think a different cup that was a little Softer would have worked perfect.
I didn’t get online in time to buy the diva disc and I want it so bad. I am so excited to try a disc I love their cups. Huge shield thing seems brilliant
I love you channel. I started researching cups for my ex, and have learnt so much that I love to bring it up as a topic of conversation at parties. No-one expects me to know so much! xD
I auto dumped today in the Porta-Potty today on my construction job site. my hands were filthy and I could not re tuck and had a disaster. I just had to share.
@@daciasdiy1861No, auto dump means it automatically dumps due to your pelvic muscles. It is not manual dumping as that wouldn't be automatically dumping, hope that helps explain it 😊.
I cannot live without a disc. I'll never, ever go back. Personally, auto dump is not a problem because I am really able to relax my pelvic floor muscles when urinating and I don't really bear down much. The only time I auto dump is when I have a BM, which is fine by me. It's usually when I bear down more, which I don't do whatsoever when I urinate.
I have been using both for three years now and I wouldn't know what to recommend. they're different. it took me quite a long time to figure out the cup, actually it took me a while to figure out what "tilted uterus" means when you want to use the cup. now I get it and it's fine. the disc is much easier to insert and remove, but doesn't stay in place after going to the bathroom, that's only my personal experience, maybe my pubic bone doesn't protrude enough. I still love the disc for comfort but the cup, now that I know how to use it, is a no brainer for me (with period underwear)
I’ve been using cups since I was 15 but recently I start using disk. They are way easier and faster to put in And take out and honestly better in my opinion. I still recommend both if you’re an athlete, you might want to go for the cup.
I use flex discs but my period is so heavy that the first couple days I have to be mindful of it but it’s awesome because I don’t have to change it every time I might just have to push it back a bit
Auto dumping. Lol. That's a way to put it. Lol 😂 I'm new to this channel. I'm terrified of trying those cus I'm afraid I won't be able.to.get it out. But binging all this chick's shorts is helping me a lay
I have a question to those who are on the birth control shot, so ive been on the shot for over 6 months now and everytime im due for the next shot my period would start and last for 2 to 3 months, is this normal i talked with my gyno and he is confused on why its like that
You can get irregular periods for the first year or so then most people will stop altogether. Maybe you need to get the shot sooner than you do says it can last 8-13wks before expiring or becoming ineffective, maybe you body just needs it sooner than some or maybe just need to give it the year and bit to see if your body adjusts to it. How often do you get it?
Isn’t it hard to put it in/take out that far up? I know it’s hard to remove a tampon once the string is gone and it’s not right at the opening so it must be at least a little bit difficult, no?
I'm really interested in using a disc but I have a lot of concerns I don't know where to get the answers to. I have vaginismus. Do you have any videos or articles pertaining reusable period products & vaginismus?
Since I'm not a PT or OB/GYN I don't like to cover things that veer too far into medical advice. That said, from a crowdsourcing angle there are a lot of discussions about this in the Period Nirvana Community on Facebook. From what I have observed it will depend on the individual. I do know many people have successfully used cups and discs but I wouldn't want to paint a rosy picture because you may not succeed. Water-based lubricant, deep relaxing breaths, and likely a lot of patience and grace with yourself could help you get there. best of luck if you decide to try one. And if you're able to see a pelvic floor therapist they can provide more expertise to help I'm sure.
I’m so behind on filming reviews 😢 the next review up will be formoonsa disc. Fwiw the Cora Soft Fit worked great and I had a better experience with it as far as leaks/comfort than Diva Disc. That’s likely bc it’s round. The oval shape plus softness of Diva Disc weren’t as compatible for my body.
@@PeriodNirvana oh I totally know that feeling of being behind, so I so appreciate you taking the time to do them at all for us❤ And that is very helpful to know, thank you so much!
Wash your hands before. Take the cup out and wipe it with some toilet paper. You can bring a water bottle if you like in order to rinse the cup out. And insert the cup again. Give it a thorough clean with soap in the evening when you are at home (every 12 hours). Using a disc you don't need to take it out during the day. That's why on heavy period days auto-dumping is so awesome!! You only need to take the disc out in the morning and evening (every 12 hours) to clean it with soap.
It’s a combo of sitting + pushing. Which is why it happens while you’re on the toilet. Doesn’t happen for everyone. If the disc fits perfectly it won’t budge enough. If it’s just a smidge too small or big it can dump and often goes back into place. It’s explained more in part 1 or I have a longform video on this here too
Babies are much, much bigger. This thing isn't really that big if you think about it. You smash it in half and insert it that way and it pops open while inside. It inserts pretty thin before fully opening inside. When squished together, it's actually thinner than a super tampon.
