So much to learn about your tools if you do isometrics. The most important thing besides speed and power increase is FEELING. You can feel more muscles activate to move your body parts together. Which improves mechanics, timing, you name it. It’s like having more horsepower but also having a better suspension on your race car. Thomas thanks again for the shoutout. Great clips as always 💪

That's true its a very good compound exercise that activates everything needed for the movement.

@@ThomasMarxJeetKuneDoIFO if you practice jkd you should prob be doing isometrics. Doesn’t add too much mass to your frame. But you get very strong in the right parts of your tools and body

@@ThomasMarxJeetKuneDoIFOhow long and how many sets should I start with this exercise?
@ThomasMarxJeetKuneDoIFO

You can do 3 to 5 sets per exercise. The more intense you o the less time the set takes. Letbsay if you go just 70-80 percent you can hold up to 15 seconds. If you go full 100%, where you start shaking you hold les long, only few seconds than. Don't forget to warm up.

first month i suggest no more than 80% to give tendons and muscles time to adapt to intensity. after that you may go harder. the harder you go, the more rest you need. @@ThomasMarxJeetKuneDoIFO

Bruce and Ted would use a bull worker to strengthen the straight lead and back fist in a similar way.

Does weight lifting help with punching speed/power? I been lifting weights the past few months and I found I been able to extend and retract my arms easier. I heard in a vid that Bruce lifted different sets in a quick fashion to maintain his speed and did shadow boxing while holding weights. Not sure how true that is however.

Yes, it does. Just dont get to bulky. Train strength instead of mass.

Bruce Lee does over coming isometrics l. He is trying to pull or push against a unmovable object there must be press tension in this exercise
