Most, if not all fighters should acclimatise to the elevation for weeks/months beforehand to both understand how quickly they will tire under normal circumstances, but to also allow their body to produce more red blood cells to carry around that oxygen. It's the same thing with mountain climbers (i.e. acclimatising to Mt. Everest). Hope that helps.

The high elevation mixed in with his nose being full of blood destroyed his cardio and breathing. High elevation increases heart rate and wears you down more it's like a stronger gravity. Another thing is Luke kept stating pre fight, he's done immense amounts of recovery before this fight so yk

Its not actually a thrown punch. Because they are in the heat of it... You stick out the left hand straight into the face of the opponent and he parries the shot. But he isn't supposed to move his head IF he's parrying. The parry does the work. But Usman was dipping his head to the left when he parried. So Leon stuck out the fist which blinded Usman from seeing any other weapons so he dipped his head to the left(his right) which because of the hand in his face he didnt see the kick coming because it was lined up and thrown with that hand in his face. It is an attack pattern sure. But its not a punch to be blocked. It's a feint to cause blindness to the kick. It was executed perfectly. If Edwards had been throwing kicks all fight he wouldn't have gotten that to work probably. Or it would have been less likely. I thought Edwards was not using his hands enough throughout rd 2 3 and 4. He looked like he wanted to wait for Usman to shoot.. which left it open for Usman to work the body and get the take downs. I think Edwards could have stopped those take downs but he just wasnt in it. After he gets a moral victory in the 1st round and takes Usman down, it appears that he feels like his accomplishment was over. He did to Usman what Usman does to everyone else, including him. Then the 2nd round he comes out not throwing. So strange a fight. But the not throwing also set up that kick to work. So it's kinda crazy. I'm not so sure Usman wins the rematch. And I say that because I think Edwards will have more confidence going into the 3rd fight and that may be enough to upset Usman again.

That is a standard combo you drill all the time, feint or pump a jab, show your straight down the pipe, get them to slip or parry, and fire your rear headkick. Works better in a open stance (orthodox vs southpaw). Leon set it up perfectly.

I never take anyone who says Izzy is boring seriously. Most of those idiots have no clue what they're even watching there, so why should we concern ourseleves with their ignorant opinions. That's why I hate spectators at UFC events when they start booing everytime the fight becomes a bit stale and not much seems to be happening. Everyone who trains MMA knows that such moments are crucial and frankly, unavoidable.

Agreed , we criticize izzy's last few fights for not being fan-friendly, not much risks taken, but now seeing usman, a dominant champ getting knocked the f out like that.. it makes sense for izzy to play to his strengths, stick to the strategy, not to relax at all. I rewatched the moments just before the headkick landed, usman just eased off for a bit in front of leon..he stopped pressuring forward & paid the price for it. Maybe he thought he would make it to the bell like that. No one expected it, not usman, not the crowd & not us watching at home. Credit to leon though for setting it up perfectly. One shot & it's all over. Very unpredictable & unforgiving sport...the fans are worse.
