also since you know... It was supposed to be a navy plane, that had to take off from an aircraft carrier, so rocket boosters probably helped a lot with that

Love the A4n, it really whips everything down. Back when there was no custom loadout it was limited to 2 Aim-9Ds with a gun pod, then they gave the shafirir 18Gs and an uncaged seeker, then they let us mix and match missiles, and now added the booster.
In War Thunder you use the boosters to get some energy back in a dogfight (since you bleed like your average soviet delta). In real life it had thrusters to get off of very small airstrips and carriers.

Use them in a fight yes, but don't use them to get energy back. This things engine is pretty good, what you should do is use them in the vertical when you're almost out of energy/airspeed, that's how I've found them to be most effective, in both this A-4 and the American 4B. If you wish, I even have a clip of me fighting a MiG-15bis in the 4B, against someone who is by no means a bad player, using them in the vertical, and allowing me to just barely get the shot I needed. Had I used them in ANY other way I would not have won the fight.

I absolutly love the A4N. It's probaly my favorite jet, an absolut underdog. And the best thing you can save the booster for a dogfight. I call it the funny Button.
If I can give tips for the wing rip: I usually do not use the boosters for the turns, allows me to avoid absolute ripping in snap rolls. On another note, This skyhawk is just the best to bully slow Mig-21's lol
I remember watching Israeli Air Force Skyhawks doing low passes over me as I was hiking in the Negev (desert in southern Israel) the sound of the Skyhawks flying 500 feet overhead at like 400 knots was insane
0:37 This is very easy to fix as it's the same issue on G.91 Rs, simply uninstall new boosters, after I did that I never had a single issue with the Ayit ripping in a turn
for all the a4s i use the boosters as a get out of jail free card if im slow in a sticky situation as like an after burner to get mor thrust for like 3 seconds
I try not to use the Shafrir 2's down low, only above like 2-3k. They perform best there. I mean all missiles perform better at alt but, down low they're just so slow and drag-y, compared to basically everything else. I keep the 9D's for low alt targets. But preferably still fire them from up high. I also always run chaff. I've never run out of CM's. Pog plane but needs at least a bit of skill and knowledge to actually be effective.
this thing is a top notch for bullying supersonics there's even a crazier version of this, the A-4SU Super Skyhawk with the F/A-18 engine (albeit without the afterburner)
I like to run it with a gunpod in the middle too, its very strong and fun to play, but it rips if you don't constantly tap W when you turn while going above 800 IAS

0:56 gearshifting on a jet would sound awesome in my opinion. But useless, at least turbojets. Those which are motorjets, or whatever it is called when a jet is powered by a piston engine (yes, it exsisted for a short period) may can be configured that way better but that's not how plane engines work. Yes, I dropped up and debunked an idea before even sending the comment, I'm that much of a reality nerd😅
howtf u got the netz but not the Ayit??? u been missing out my dooooo. A-4N is busted. You can bring min fuel and then have the most busted skyhawk performance. stationary twr when you are down to 3min is 1. The thrust curve is broken too bc you get max thrust at 0 ias and it only decreases with speed unlike other jets which loose thrust at low ias. This makes it absolutely busted for low speed turn fighting.
I never bought this thing because I hate the ones before it. They're just slow garbage with too much armament that you never get to use because you're so fat and slow. Then, as soon as you want to get aggressive and get some kills, the very tip of your wing rips off and you're dead. I fly bombers all the time, so I know how to avoid ripping wings. The A4 rips wings if you turn with any speed at all.
9D vs Shafrir 2 which is better? 9D is faster, Shafrir 2 is 2km better range then 9D (20km vs 18km respectively) but idk what guidance time is, 30sec vs 60sec. Guidance time meaning how long the missile will track before self-destructing?
AIM9-D is better, guidance time and "range" are irrelevant because both missiles will be completely out of energy by the time they reach their hypothetical guidance time. AIM9-D goes way further than the Shafrir-2 and is way faster. The thing about the 9D is that it is also caged, so you can't do off-boresight shots like the Shafrir-2. The 9D is better in most situations, and the Shafrir-2 is good in situations where you are really close range or going really slow, and can't quite get your guns on target.
Take 4 shafrirs, they're just better Aight I take that back they're supposed to have 95% of the speed of 9D's but I guess they fucked with the drag because my god do they look slow in the vid
