@@jjacobs260 it was retaliation in self-defense, Iran kind of telephoned Israel to tell them where the missile would land The attack on Iran's embassy in Syria on the other hand is the real issue, only the West can "defend themselves" apparently, and the rest of the world has to submit to the ruled-based order, this era is now over, I find clown scary not funny
After Gaza and the blatant disregard to the UN, ICJ, UNHRC and UNSC the Western Countries demolished the "Rule Based Order" and "International Humanitarian Law." I hope Israel is worth that for them…
Its part of the propganda. they use a tactic called “repetition”. They repeat as much as possible to that your brain changes the way it thinks about this situation. They all the same. Be careful please
USA are no better they have been promoting proxy wars for decades ...the CIA have been involved in regime change even when these government were democratically elected but did not suit USA .
What cannot be ignored is the bombing of the Iranian consulate in Syria where 16 people were killed, which meant that Iran was allowed under international law to retaliate in a proportionate manner.
@@cynthiamarx5444, go back to the borders of 1967 as per UN resolutions and talks and agreements that Israel has signed and accepted. But never applied ever since.
Not sure that people know that Israel bombed the Iranian diplomatic facility in Syria to take a couple of Generals off the field of play...there was a purpose to their action.
Israel attacked first, why question what they will do in ‘response’? They’ve attacked Demascus and Lebanon. A couple days ago, when they killed British Aid workers, we were in agreement that they’d gone too far. Now, after a country has retaliated to their bombing, they’re victims again ?
Iran happily retaliated, may be more accurate. It is in Iranian and Israeli interests to keep this on the boil. Iran doesn’t care about Gaza, never has done, but they are always looking at sticking it to Israel and the US. Israel (more specifically Bibi) have an interest in making the US have to pick a side. If the US commits to supporting Israel’s “defence” then all bets are off and we are looking at a full-on war. It’s a roll of the dice from Bibi because he knows he is losing the international community at the moment. This isn’t about Gaza, it’s about regional politics, let’s hope it doesn’t spread any further.
1 Iran was defending itself against Israeli war crimes against Iran 2 The missiles that Iran warned Israel about were headed towards military targets, not civilians as you seem to claim 3 why is no one condemning Israeli war crimes for starting this.
When we are free from the US apparently - the US looks determined to encourage Israel in war crimes, trashing International laws etc and we’re tied to America.
@@ne-ht4zxJordan and Saudi have their own reasons for sidling against Iran. Plus the Abraham Accords. The UK government support is not because there is a majority of public support. But both Tories and Labour take big donations from pro Israeli actors. Labours biggest donor of £5m is a Zionist. Which may explain Starmer going against the views of his voting base. We need to get big donors out of politics. Or democracy means nothing.
Israel didn't start this, the west did when they facilitated the formation of the Israeli state in it's current form. It is a monster of the west's making.
So the expert calls Gholan Heights 1) disputed territories and 2) claimed by Lebanon... And this is an expert ladies and gentlemen. 1) Gholan Heights is OCCUPIED TERRITORIES acc. to international law; they have been acquired by war and therefore need to be given back to the legitimate owners if you really want to have peace. 2) every kindergarden kid knows Gholan is Syrian territory and Hezbollah claims nothing there.. Hezbollah want Shebaa Farms back! Shebaa Farms are territories occupied by Israel acc. to international law and need to be given back to the owners if you are interested in having peace.
Iran knew the drones would be intercepted and it was a warning. They are showing the AMAZING restraint. Iran said they would not have retaliated had the UN condemned the Israeli consulate bombing.
@chatham43 What is interesting is the history of Iran since the 1950s. Again, America was involved in regime change, and eventually, it led to the regime now in power. Also, the Iranian government had nationalised its oil, which Britian had the majority of shares in. Now we understand why that government had to go, oil. Even when the Shah fled Iran the new government reached out to America to make friendly relations, America rebuffed this more than once. People really don't know the background of Iran and why the frosty relationship happened. There would have been no Islamic Republic of Iran if America hadn't interfered in their government
“Yes Israel did violate all conventions of protection of protection of diplomatic facilities, but that’s how Israel is willing to operate.” Let that sink in…
I find a curious that the US found the need to help shoot down some of those drones and missiles. I’m sure they knew about the Israeli strike on the Iranian council it but did nothing to prevent it.
@@TontonTechAdventuresIt literally doesn’t matter who is in the consulate - the building is protected under law. That law exists to protect all Nations and Israel ignored it with impunity.
Israel attacked the Iranian consulate first which is wrong but equally the Iranian have the right to defend themselves just as Israel has when attacked
Iran invoked Article 51 to the General Secretary of the UN. Which is self defence. Iran hit the airforce base where their Consulate was attacked from, in the Negev Dessert. The only person injured was an Bedouin Muslim young girl.
Fadi Quran: My analysis is that the scale of Iran’s attack, the diversity of locations it targeted, and weapons it used, forced Israel to uncover the majority of anti-missile technologies the US and it have across the region. The Iranians did not use any weapons Israel didn’t know it had, it just used a lot of them. But the Iranians likely now have almost a full map of what Israel’s missile defence system looks like, as well as where in Jordan and the Gulf the US has installations. It also knows how long it takes to prepare them, how Israeli society responds…etc This is a huge strategic cost to Israel, while Arab regimes now are being blasted by their peoples, particularly the Jordanian monarchy, for not doing anything to protect Gazans but then going all out to protect Israel. Crucially, Iran can now reverse engineer all the intel gathered from this attack to make a much more deadly one credible. While the US and Israel will have to re-design away from their current model which has been compromised. Its success in stopping this choreographed attack is thus still very costly.
Karma is a b####! Remember Iraq had WMDs, Iran has them now. 😂 Britain should stay clear of Israel and lets forget about those aid workers shall we? Remember, the Israeli way is to only remember what happened yesterday. Forgot 7th Oct, we now have 13th April, the new Jewish 9/11 and the only question we should ask is - do yo condenm Hamas?
Iran “sent a message.” Iran has not been directly involved in a 6-month military campaign…. A coalition of countries protected Israel. Who controls the seas????
Now Iran knows Isreal’s full defence capability and locations of defence installations and Isreal knows nothing new about Iran’s attack capability. Smart
Suddenly we get a history lesson about Iran's transgressions against international law. But when it comes to Israel, history started on 7th October 2023 and we shouldn't talk about anything before then.
I don’t think the launch was to hit and destroy. The launch was just a warning. Flexing of muscles. So Iran did not fail. They retaliated in a cautious manner.
"It's the largest number of drones used in a concentrated attack" Yes it is, BUT it was very well telegraphed days in advance in order to be ineffective. Iran had to respond for what happened at its embassy, but chose to do it theatrically, to calm down and have a pretext with the Iranian population that were asking for war and then do the least damage in order to stop that exact scenario from happening.
But Israel will now use it as an excuse to escalate in a disproportionate manner; as they have already been stating they will respond despite Iran saying they will not do anything more.
And those weren’t even Iran’s strongest missiles. It’s honestly pathetic. If anything, Iran proved that it has better aim than Israel. Israel just fires at anything and crosses its fingers that a target gets caught in the fire.
I love how Ian Dale talked of Israel’s response needing to be a “measured response” to the October 7th massacre of innocent civilians, but doesn’t look at it the same way when he talks of Iran’s response to Israel killing 7 people, - all of them responsible for deaths of thousands in Syria. What a hypocrite!
Imagine being given refuge in Palestine after the holocaust and then stealing the land of those who took you in. Give the Palestinians their land back!!!
Anyone notice how events seem to begin in a vacuum with the West? Iran just suddenly woke up one day and decided to launch a strike at Israel. BTW Iran's intention was not to do really much damage.
If the UN had condemned the attack on the Iranian consulate, this would not have happened. As it is, the attack was designed to cause as little damage as possible. Iran has the right to defend itself. I've heard today so many people saying how scared the Israelis are. The Palestinians have had to live with attacks from the air for 6 months. It didn't garner much sympathy from the West. Now, they have had a taste of their own medicine
The framing and bending of language is ridiculous. Just one example “People say they broke international law” when referring to the destruction of an Iranian consulate. People Say, as if it might or might not be. Iain, IT IS against international Law. Specifically violating the Charter of the United Nations as well as the 1961 Vienna Convention on Diplomatic Relations and the 1963 Vienna Convention on Consular Relations
This presenter doesn't get or doesn't wanna get it Iran wanted it shot down and that's why they sent drones as slow as cars. He's not telling full information.
This was an off ramp in order to gi ve Iran and USA a way of avoiding an escalation. Iran HAD to be seen to retaliate and USA, UK and Iran colluded through back channels to minimise damage.
Correction, the disputed territory between Lebanon and Israel is the Shebaa Farms. The Golan Heights territory is occupied by Israel but belongs to Syria.
Iran doubles down on right to self-defense in U.N. Security Council address. Iran has a right to defend itself after Israel's attack on a consular building in Syria this month. That was the clear and stern message delivered to the U.N. Security Council today by Amir Saeidi.
I think Iran wanted to see Israel's defense. They wanted to know their response times. They wanted to know which areas they defended more over others. They wanted to see who will come to their defence and from which direction. They wanted to see which Arab country would betray them. They have all that information now and the question is in what way will that information be used against Israel, America, UK and the Arab countries.
