To put it into perspective the negatives you mention the average driver won’t even notice day to day so it’s 10/10 for me. Prediction: goodbye hi-lux, Ranger
About first gear, yes it’s very low, I have the 2019 model of this version in auto. I have discovered that the auto will let me select 2nd gear while I’m stopped and it will take off a lot quicker with a light load if I do this. I imagine it was designed to be able to do this on purpose, just think it has to be able to take off up hill with a full load which is a lot of extra weight which maybe the only time that you need first gear. I haven’t asked Isuzu about this yet maybe you guys can. In any case the extra low first gear with good ground clearance is a great help for light off road work. 4WD is arguably the least important thing for off road work in dry conditions.
Looks like a good workhorse. Will be interesting to see how it holds up after a couple of years abuse by the apprentices. No doubt the engine will handle a few Friday skids and overloaded trailers... just gotta hope the interior and tech can hold up with all the dust and sun it will be subject to.
I've owned an SX for 1 year. The safety features are bordering on dangerous. The lane guidance systems and AED are far too sensitive. If someone is turning into a pertol station or driveway slowly, you'll be told inform form of a face full of steering wheel. It doesn't give a gentle brake, its although your passenger has pulled up the handbrake as hard as they can. The lane guidance system is far too sensitive, it will pick up tar lines of the road and even on occasion it will try to avoid a tucks shadow.
My question is in India we get single cab with 2500cc of 78 ps of power with 3800rpm and 176nm of torque with 1800-2400rpm which is less power n torque compare with this model. But that model can carry 1500 kg of payload. My question is this model should carry double of payload compared with 2.5 Ltr model which is available in India. Big difference in engine but same payload capacity, why??🙏🙏🙏
Unfortunately all the 2021, 2022 Isuzu single cabs utes were recalled to reprogram and update the main computer due to safety feature being dangerous. Isuzu regrets installing the brake assistance sensors at the Top windscreen which is a major problem , because it's a work ute I carry alot of materials which over hangs Infront of the sensors thus detecting an obstruction which automatically activates the braking system , I almost got killed by a semi trailer truck when I turned the Cruise control on and the ute locked Up and the truck quickly turned off the road missing me avoiding a horrific accident. Stupid safety design fault from Isuzu.
What no back seats ..... What a shame , that makes no sense . My triton has back seats that I use it for storage but in the one time every 6 months I need to put an extra person in for a 30min drive it's priceless . ... like when the wife says she is running late from work can I get the kids ...... I can't believe they have done this I'm out .
